Charging button
Short press returns the robot vacuum to the
charging base and starts charging.
Power button
Short press starts cleaning.
Long press turns on/o the robot.
Spot cleaning button
Short press starts spot cleaning.
WiFi Reset
To reset WiFi connection, press and hold both
the spot cleaning button and the charging
button for over 3 seconds.
Pause
To pause cleaning, press any button.
Forced Power O
Put a pin into the reset hole to force power
o the robot vacuum.

EN Charging base
Place the charging base on a flat surface against the wall.
OK! Correct position!
Ensure that there is more than 1.2 meter clear space in front of the charging base and more than 0.5
meter clear space on both sides of the charging base.
XIncorrect position!

Long press the power button to turn on the robot vacuum.
Press the charging button and the robot vacuum will automatically find the charging base.
If the battery is discharged, the robot might not be able to turn on. Please dock the robot on the
charging base so the charging contacts of the robot touch the charging contacts of the base.
During charging, the power button is illuminated by orange light.
The color of the power button indicates the
battery level.
Still white light: battery > 15%
Breathing white light: battery < 15%

EN Settings | Connection with U-Smart Application
The U-Smart application supports all UMAX U-Smart devices and works on
Android and iOS.
1. Download the U-Smart application from Google Play or App Store.
2. Create a new account or log in to your existing account.
3. Click on +in the upper right corner to add a new device.
4. Click on U-Smart Laser Robot Vacuum.
5. On the robot vacuum, press and hold the charging button and the spot
cleaning button for several seconds. Orange indicator will start slowly
blinking and the robot vacuum is ready for connection with the U-Smart
application.
6. Follow the steps in the application to connect to the robot vacuum.
7. Type your WiFi password. Your phone needs to be connected to this WiFi
network. The network needs to be 2.4 GHz. WiFi 5 GHz networks are not
supported. Password cannot include special characters ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ),
then click Next.
8. Confirm that the indicator is slowly flashing and click on Next.
9. Now you need to connect to the hotspot of the robot vacuum. Open
WiFi settings of your phone and connect to WiFi SmartLife-XXXX (there
will be random characters instead of XXXX).
10. Return to the U-Smart application and wait till the robot vacuum is
added.

EN Settings | Device Name, Picture, Remove Device
U-Smart application | In the Settings menu you can change the name and picture of your robot
vacuum. You can assign the robot vacuum to a room. You can also remove and wipe data from the
device.
Settings | Reset WiFi
If your WiFi password or network name changes, you need to reset the WiFi connection of the
robot vacuum and connect it again with the application.
Manual control | Simultaneously press and hold the charging button and the spot cleaning button
until you hear Reset WiFi. The WiFi connection is now reset and you can connect your robot
vacuum to other network.
U-Smart application | In the Settings menu, click on Remove device.
The first option, Disconnect, deletes the robot vacuum from the U-Smart application and resets
WiFi connection of the robot vacuum. You can connect your robot vacuum to a new WiFi network.
Some settings and cleaning records will be restored.
The second option, Disconnect and wipe data, deletes the robot vacuum from the U-Smart
application, resets WiFi connection, and deletes all associated data of the robot vacuum. You can
connect your robot vacuum to a new WiFi network. All settings and cleaning records are deleted.

Voice Control | Amazon Alexa
The robot vacuum supports Amazon Alexa
and can be controlled by voice using Amazon
Echo speakers. If your U-Smart account is
already linked with Amazon Alexa, the robot
vacuum will automatically show up in Alexa
application.
If your account is not linked, you need to link
it first. Click on the Skills & Games menu in
the Amazon Alexa application and search
for Smart Life. Add Smart Life skill and log in
with the same username and password that
you use for U-Smart. After connecting the
account, all Alexa supported devices will show
up under Devices menu.
Voice Control | Google Home
The robot vacuum supports Google Home
and can be controlled by voice using Google
Home and Google Nest speakers. If your
U-Smart account is already linked with Google
Home, the robot vacuum will automatically
show up in Home application.
If your account is not linked, you need to link
it first. Click on the +button in the Google
Home application and choose Set up device.
Select Works with Google and search for
Smart Life. Log in with the same username
and password that you use for U-Smart. After
connecting the account, all supported devices
will show up in Google Home.

Long press the power button to turn on the robot vacuum. The indicator of
the button turns on and the robot vacuum is in standby mode. Long press
the power button to turn o. The indicator light on the button turns o.
Charging
After cleaning, the robot vacuum automatically docks with the charging base
and starts charging. When the robot vacuum is charging, the orange light
of the power button is on. The light changes into white breathing light when
the battery is fully charged.
Manual control | If the robot vacuum does not start cleaning from the
charging base, auto-charging may fail because the robot vacuum will
automatically return to the position where it starts. Please manually put
the robot vacuum back to the charging base for charging. If you pause
cleaning, press the charging button to dock with the charging base and start
charging.
U-Smart application | Press Dock & Recharge during pause to dock with the
charging base and start charging.
Sleep Mode
If the robot vacuum is not used for more than 20 minutes, the robot vacuum automatically enters
sleep mode. You can reactivate the robot vacuum by pressing any button. If the battery is low
during sleep, the robot vacuum automatically shuts down.

Cleaning Mode | Automatic Cleaning
Automatic cleaning mode cleans the whole accessible area of your house. It first cleans along
the walls and then continues to clean the remaining areas. After cleaning, the robot vacuum
automatically returns to the charging base for recharging. We recommend starting vacuuming
from the charging base. If the battery level is too low to start automatic cleaning, please charge it
first and then start cleaning. If the battery level is insucient during cleaning, the robot vacuum
automatically returns to the charging base to recharge, and then automatically returns to the
break-o point to continue cleaning. Tidy up all cables on the ground before cleaning to avoid any
damage by the robot vacuum dragging the cables during cleaning.
Manual control | Press the power button to start automatic cleaning. Press any button to pause
while cleaning.
U-Smart application | Select Automatic cleaning mode and then click on Start cleaning. You can
see the house map and cleaning path in the application. You can set up restricted areas where the
robot vacuum will not clean. Click on Automatic cleaning, then click on Edit restricted areas. Click
on Add area to create a new restricted area.

EN Cleaning Mode | Spot Cleaning
Spot cleaning mode cleans a square area of 1.6m x 1.6m.
Manual control | Place the robot vacuum to a spot that you would like to clean. The robot vacuum
will clean a square area taking itself as the center. The robot vacuum needs to be on standby or
paused. Press the spot cleaning button to start spot cleaning. After cleaning, the robot vacuum will
automatically return to the starting position and stop working. Starting spot cleaning during pause
will end the last cleaning task.
U-Smart application | Select Spot cleaning and press on the map to drop a pin indicating the cen-
ter of the area to be cleaned. Press Start cleaning and the robot vacuum will automatically move to
the selected place on the map and start spot cleaning there. After cleaning, the robot vacuum will
return to the charging base and start recharging.

Cleaning Mode | Area Cleaning
Area cleaning mode cleans specific areas cre-
ated on a map. The robot vacuum automatically
moves to the area and cleans inside the area,
then moves to the next area and cleans there.
After cleaning, the robot vacuum automatically
returns to the charging base to recharge.
U-Smart application | Select Area cleaning
mode and on the map create one or more areas
where you would like to clean. Then press Start
cleaning.
Cleaning | Suction power
The suction power and noise level can be
changed. You can choose from three options -
automatic, strong, quiet mode.
U-Smart application | Click on Suction power
and select one of the options.

EN Cleaning | Pause During Cleaning
During cleaning, you might need to clean the dust bin,
refill water in the water tank, or clean the mop. You can
pause the cleaning task, clean the dust bin or refill wa-
ter, then continue with the cleaning.
Manual control | Press any button to pause cleaning.
Press the power button during pause to continue clean-
ing.
U-Smart application | Press Pause cleaning to pause
cleaning. Press Continue cleaning during pause to con-
tinue cleaning.
Cleaning | Mopping the Floor
To mop the floor, you can simply change the dust bin for the water
tank. Do not mop on a carpet to avoid getting the carpet wet.
1. Press the release button on the water tank to remove it.
2. Make the mop wet and attach it to the water tank.
3. Fill the water tank with water and close the rubber lid.
4. Put the water tank back to the robot vacuum.

More Settings | Schedule
You can create a schedule to start
automatic cleaning at a selected time
and choose which days of the week
this task should run.
U-Smart application | Press More and
then press Schedule. Choose the time
when the automatic cleaning should
start. Click on Repeat to select which
days of the week the task should run.
Click on Name to name your cleaning
task. Click on Notification to show a
notification every time the cleaning
task starts.
More Settings | Manual Control
You can manually control the movement of your robot
vacuum - forward, turn left, turn right.
U-Smart application | Press More and then press Manual
Control.
More Settings | Find Robot Vacuum
If your robot vacuum gets stuck somewhere and you
cannot find it, you can ask it to play sound notification.
Then you just follow the voice to find it.
U-Smart application | Press More and then press Find
robot vacuum.

EN More Settings | Reset Map
If you change the position of the charging base, you
need to reset the map so the robot vacuum is not
confused.
U-Smart application | Press More and then press Reset
map.
More Settings | Water Regulation
You can regulate the speed of water output from the
water tank during cleaning. There are three speeds that
you can select.
U-Smart application | Press More and then press Water
regulation.
More Settings | Cleaning Records
You can see the history of all your cleaning. The history
records show the map, time, and area.
U-Smart application | Press More and then press
Cleaning records. Press on a record to see the map of
cleaning.
