toinstallit,andhowtoquicklyconfigureitthroughthewebinterface
Asnewgenerationnetworkvideosurveillancemediaterminals,
DVS4000seriesencoders(hereinafterreferredtoastheDVS4000)are
designedmainlyforremotevideosurveillance.Theyareapplicableto
monitoringandlisteningtoremotesitesinrealtime,andcanbewidely
appliedtoreal‐timesurveillanceapplicationsinsecurityprotection,
transportationmonitoring,andelectricityindustry.

Ifyouneedtousethelocalcachefunction,ensurethattheUSBstorage
devicetobeinsertedhasbeenformatted,becausetheterminaldevice
doesnotsupportUSBformatting.
AfteryouinserttheUSBdevice,thelocalcachefunctionwill
automaticallystartabout15secondslaterfollowingacentralstorage
failure.
Cachedfileswillbeperiodicallyoverwritten.Therefore,exportcached
filesintimeusingtheFTPclientorstarttheimageuploadingfunctionto

backupcachedvideosthroughabackupservermanagedbythecentral
server.Theexportedorbackedupvideofilescanbeplayedonthe
webpageofthecentralserver.

Unpackthecontainerandremovetheitemsoutcarefully.Checkitems
againstthepackinglistandensureallitemslistedareincludedinthe
container.

chassis,contactthelocalagentofourcompanyforhelp.Otherwise,we

CheckingtheInstallationEnvironment
Wheninstalledoutdoors,theDVS4000mustbefixedinanoutdoor
protectiveboxwhilemeetingoutdoorlightningprotectionand
groundingrequirements.
zEnsurethatappropriatelightningprotectionfacilitiesarechosen
fordevicepowersupply,audioandvideosignals,andtheRS‐485
port.
zEnsurethatthedeviceiscorrectlygroundedthroughagrounding
screw.Fordetails,refertoDVS/DCCableConnectionGuide.
Wheninstalledindoors,theDVS4000mustalsomeetlightning
protectionandgroundingrequirementsbyusingthesamemethodsas
