youbyVExpressionsLtd.(collectively,the"Product").BypurchasingaVExpressionsLtd.Product,youareconsentingtothe
termsofthisAgreement.
ThisAgreementgrantsyouapersonal,exclusive,non‐transferable,non‐sublicensablerighttouseonecopyoftheV
ExpressionsLtd.Productforyourownpersonaluseonasinglecomputerand/orcompatibledrummodule.VExpressions
Ltd.reservesallrightsintheProductnotexpresslygrantedherein,includingownershipandproprietaryrights.
Thissoftwaremaynot,inwholeorinanypart,becopied,reproduced,resold,transmitted,translated(intoanylanguage,
naturalorcomputer),reducedtoanyelectronicmediumormachinereadableformat,orbyanyotherformormeans
withoutpriorconsent,inwriting,fromVExpressionsLtd.
LicenseRestrictions:YoumaynotreproduceordistributetheProduct.YoumaynotcopytheProducttoanymedia,server

JurisdictionandOtherProvisions:ThisAgreementandtherelationshipbetweenVExpressionsLtd.andyoushallbe
governedinaccordancewiththelawsoftheStateofFlorida.AnydisputebetweenyouandVExpressionsLtd.regardingthis
AgreementwillbesubjecttotheexclusivejurisdictionofthestateandfederalcourtsintheStateofFlorida.
YouacknowledgethatyouhavereadthisAgreementandunderstanditandthat,bypurchasingand/orusingtheproduct,
youagreetobeboundbyitstermsandconditions.

BACKUPYOURCURRENTSETTINGSBEFOREBEGINNING!!
Currentkitsinyourmodulewillbeoverwrittenduringaloadofanybackupfile.However,yourTDmodule’sfactoryreset
informationisneverdisturbedbyVExpressionLtdexpansions,andtheoriginalfactoryversionofyourmodulecan
alwaysberesetatanytimetoreturntoyourdefaultpurchasedstartingpoint.
Custommodificationsyoumighthavemadewillbeeraseduponloadingofourentireexpansion.Therefore,wehighly
recommendbackingupyourcurrentmodule’smemorytosaveanypersonalchanges(includingpadsettingadjustments)
beforeloadinganyexpansionfromVExpressionsLtd.(kitfilesareprovidedtoallowcopyingkitsinmanuallytoretain
personalpadsettings)

Next,checkyourTD‐27’sfirmwareversion:

Ifyoudonothavethelatestfirmwareversion,pleasefollowlinkabovetodownloadthefirmwareupdate.Pleasealso
followRoland’sinstructionsforinstallingthelatestupdate.
Aftertheaboveisconfirmed,andwhenyouarereadytoproceed,pleasebeginwithSectionIbelow.
SectionI:PreparingyourdownloadedVEXExpansion
Makeabackupofyourdownloadedzipforsafekeepingbeforeyoubegin!(copytoHDD,USB,SD,etc.)
Step1:Createanewfolderonyourdesktopnamed“VEXYour_Expansion_Name_Here”.
Step2:Double‐clickyourdownloadedziponPCorMactoopenit.
Step3:Dragthecontentsinsidethedownloadedziptoyournewfolder“VEXYour_Expansion_Name_Here”.
Step4:Re‐numberourbackupTD0fileasdesiredfornumberlocationplacement.
Youmayrenameourbackupfileanynumberyouwish(001‐099).However,thefilenamemustremaininthe
originalRolandformat:(BKUP‐###.TD0).ThemoduleWILLNOTreadanythingdifferent.
Step5:Makeabackupofyourupdated“VEXYour_Expansion_Name_Here”folder.
Step6:ContinuewithsectionIIorIIIbelowasneeded.

alreadyonyourSDcardinthe“Roland>TD‐27>Backup”folder.
AnybackupofthesamenumberinthisfolderWILLBE
OVERWRITTEN!
Reminder:
1. Thefilemustbenamedproperly.(i.e.:BKUP‐001.TD0‐any
number001‐099)
2. ThefilemustbeinthecorrectfolderonyourUSBstick.

Troubleshooting
Ifyouarehavingproblemswithyourpadsnotrespondingnormal,orseemquietormuffled,withlowdynamics,checkthe
following:
1. ENSUREYOURTRIGGERSETTINGSMATCHYOURPADSEXACTLY!
2. Hi‐Hatperformingpoorly:Ensuretriggertype&re‐establishoffsetparameters.
3. Ridehasnobellsound:Ensuretriggertypeandorcheck&switchcables.
4. Snarenotperformingproperly:Ensuretriggertype.Adjustrim/headgainasneeded.Thiscanbebasedsolelyon
personalpreferenceandpadtype.
Tips&Tricks
Manyofourexpansionsandkitshavebeenmodeledslightlyonthe“wet”side.Wefindthatitiseasierforourcustomersto
“dial‐down”effects,ratherthantrytofindout“what’smissing”.Ifyoufeelsomethingisabitboomy,donotworry;we
designeditthatway!Simply“dial‐down”ambiance,effects,reverbormufflingtoreachyourpersonallydesiredlevel.
Whencreatingnewkitsviathecopyfunction,payattentionto“production”ofeachkit.Itisbettertostartwiththekit
whoseoverallproductionyoulikemosttocopyinto.Copythispreferred“production”kittoaneworblankbank.(thisis
your“recipient”kit)Fromthere,copyinotherdesiredcomponents(individualdrums,cymbals,etc.fromthe“donor”kits)
withthe“Inst/VEditOnly”contentsonly.Bytakingthesesteps,youcaneasilycreatenewcustomkitswithyourdesired
snare,toms,cymbals,etc.Thisprocessensuresthebestresultswhencreatingnewkits.(page32ofyourRolandTD‐27

Inlivesituations,itissuggestedthatthekitsbeplayedtothemixingconsoleinstereoastheyaremodeledandthen
adding/reducingthedesiredeffectstoaccommodatethecurrentenvironment.Wesuggestcreatinga“soundcheck”
patternofyourpersonalplayingthatutilizesasmanyofthecomponentsaspossibleforyoursoundengineertouseduring
soundcheck.
