How to configure Vtech VSP600 Cordless Phone:
To begin configuring your Vtech for use on Intermedia’s Network, you will need to pull up the graphical
user interface.
Obtain the Credentials for the device in HostPilot:
1. Login to HostPilot.
2. Navigate to Services>Voice Services.
3. Choose Numbers&Extensions Tab.
4. Click on the phone number of the device.
5. Navigate to SIP configuration
To Pull the IP of the phone, there are two ways:
On the phone:
1. Press the Softkey button for Menu on the phone
2. Scroll down to ‘Status’ and hit the Center button [Select]
3. Press [Select] for ‘Network’ or press the [Enter] soft key
4. The IP of the phone should now be displayed
Via Netscan:
1. Run Netscan
2. Find the MAC of the phone in the scan and look at the associated IP
Once you find the IP address, input that into any Web Browser, you will be met with a login pop-up.
The default credentials are: admin/admin (after factory reset, username and password are user/user)
At this point we’re ready to configure this SIP phone.
1. Click on System across the horizontal Black bar
Click on ‘Account 1’ under SIP Account Management on the left-hand Pane.
Fill out the following information:
General Account Settings:
Toggle ‘Enable Account’ On
Display name: (Optional)
User identifier: [EXT]
Authentication name: [SIP User Name In HostPilot]
Authentication password: [SIP Password In HostPilot]
Leave the rest as default
SIP Server:
Server Address: [SIP Domain In Host Pilot]
Port: [In Host Pilot]
Registration:
Server Address: [Same as SIP server address]
Port: [Same as SIP server port]
Expiration (secs): 300
Registration Frez (secs): 300
Outbound Proxy:
Server Address: [Outbound Proxy In Host Pilot –Same as SIP server address]
Port: [Same as SIP server port]
Backup Outbound Proxy
Server Address: [Outbound Proxy In Host Pilot –Same as SIP server address]
Port: [Same as SIP server port]
Audio:
Codec Priority 1: [Preferred Codec In Host Pilot]
Codec Priority 2: [Secondary Codec In Host Pilot]
Mark ‘None’ for the rest of the Codec Priorities
Signaling Settings:
Local SIP port: 6xxx –(xxx = The ext #. Our example shows 6225 for Ext 225)
Transport: UDP
Voicemail Settings:
Mailbox ID: [EXT]
Expiration (secs): 300
NAT Traversal
Toggle ON ‘Enable UDP Keep-Alive’
Keep-alive interval (secs): 300
Hit ‘SAVE’ at the bottom
2. Under System, click on ‘Signaling’ on the left-hand panel
Voice:
Min Local RTP port: 30000
Max Local RTP port: 50000
NAT Traversal
Min Public RTP Port: 30000
Max Public RTP Port: 50000
Hit ‘Save’
3. Your phone may have an incorrect time even though the HostPilot may indicate the correct time
zone for this particular device.
To correct this:
Go to the ‘Servicing’Tab
Click on ‘Time and Date’ on the left-hand panel
Network Time Settings:
Ensure ‘Enable Network Time’ is toggled ON
NTP Server: us.pool.ntp.org
Time Zone and Daylight Savings Settings:
Adjust Time Zone: [Depends on location]
If applicable, toggle ON ‘Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Savings’
Manual Time Settings:
Date Format: (User Preference)
Time Format: (Adjust Accordingly)
Hit Save, then hit Apply
4. We can change the name under System and Handset Name.
For Handset 1, you can
This is the Phone Display name.
5. If you have multiple handsets, you would need to register the second account [Account 2] and
adjust them accordingly
Go to System > Account Assignments
Ensure Account 1 is only checked for Handset 1. The Default account should be ‘Account 1’
For Handset 2, we should have Account 2 only checked and the Default should be ‘Account
2’
Refer to picture below:
6. Lastly, we should reboot the phone.
Click on the ‘Servicing’ Tab across the horizontal black bar
Click on Reboot
Note: It may take a few minutes for phone to come back into operation after applying
settings.
The Line should now be registered under Status then System Status.
‘Account 1’ should show registered now.
