Overview
The AX-07S is a low cost solution for low power Audio zones.
It is the perfect partner for Vantage’s Multi-Zone amplifiers,
where a Preamplifier Zone may be set to ‘independent mode’;
In this mode the preamplifier Volume and Muting may be
different to the Multi-Zone amplifiers primary speaker output.

Installation
Installation of Vantage products should be performed or
supervised by a Certified Vantage Installer. Fig 1 illustrates a
typical installation using the AX-07S to power speakers in a
bedroom and master bath. The Vantage 451AV and 452AV
have preamplifier outputs for each zone, these may be set to
“Independent mode”, where the preamplifier output can have
independent Volume level and Mute. The preamplifier output
has extra gain for driving slave amplifiers with low sensitivity.
When driving the AX-07S the amplifier enters clipping at
volume levels of 50. To prevent clipping it is advisable to use
maximum volume limiting on the Multi-Zone amplifiers. The
AX-07S may be switched OFF by shorting the + AmpON
terminal to 0V or connecting this terminal to the required
Vantage 451AV or 452AV Zone’s AmpON output.
Mounting
The AX-07S is conveniently mounted to a wall or shelf using
the two self-tapping screws supplied.
Precautions
1. Never expose the unit to moisture
2. Do not restrict the airflow around the AX-07S. Good
airflow is necessary to ensure proper operation. Not
only should you provide enough free space around
the unit, but also ensure that air can flow freely and
escape from the amplifiers surroundings.
3. Under no circumstances should the speaker output
terminals be short circuited, or connected to another
output (i.e. Do not connect the –Ve speaker terminals
or +Ve speaker terminals together, damage may
occur).
4. Avoid plugging the inputs into the amplifier when
fully powered up.
5. Do not power the AX-07S from a 451AV or 452AV
interface port. These are the CONTROLLER’S ports,
BUS RUN 1 and BUS RUN 2 on the back.
6. Ensure the power supply is the correct type: 12VDC
Center Positive 0.5A continuous 1.0A peak. No load
voltage must not exceed 16VDC.
