1.1 Product Overview
As part of Vantron’s overall solution for industrial automation and device communication,
Vantron DE20-BT is an entry-level database transaction unit (DTU) that features a serial
port and Bluetooth 5.0 for simple-process data collection.
DE20-BT supports low-rate carrier network (CAT M) and multiple data centers. With such
network protocols as PPP, IP, and TCP/UDP supported, real-time device data is accessible
and unvarnished transmission is feasible.
Thanks to its compact size and less than 5W power consumption, DE20-BT saves great
trouble for users in its installation and maintenance. Besides, it supports 5V~36V wide input
voltage and -20℃~ +70℃industrial-grade extended temperature range, and implements
a fanless heat sink for device heat dissipation, making it a cost-effective IoT solution for
customers. DE20-BT is particularly designed for power distribution monitoring, oil & gas
transportation, environment monitoring, etc.

2.1 Setting up the Device
Before you proceed with the configuration of your DTU, follow the steps below to finish
hardware connection.
1. Position the device on a desired place, for instance, a wall or a desktop;
2. Use screws (M4 x 6 / M4 x 8 recommended) to fasten the device on the wall or desktop;
3. Further secure the device using another four screws that fit the small round holes if
needed;

4. Insert an activated SIM card to the SIM slot with the gold-colored contacts facing up,
and push the SIM card until it clicks;
5. Install the antenna to the antenna connectors and tighten the connectors (round one
to the BT connector, flat one to the LTE connector);
6. Use a DB9 male to 3.5mm serial adapter cable to connect the audio jack of the device
to a host computer when you need to read the data collected or
upgrade/debug/configure the device (a USB to RS232 female adapter cable might be
needed);
The serial debug port DOES NOT support hot plug. Every time when you unplug the DB9
male to 3.5mm serial adapter cable from the DE20-BT or host computer, please restart
the DE20-BT before any further operations.
