ENGLISH
Before you start using the Varjo VR-1 headset,
read the Quick Guide and this Product and Safety
Guide. Follow all setup, operating, and maintenance
instructions provided with the headset. If you do
not follow the instructions, it can result in injury,
property damage, or damage to your headset,
or it may void your warranty. For a full product
description, the latest version of this guide, and any
other policies applicable to the headset, please visit
varjo.com/support.
In case of dispute, the English version of this
document applies. The translations are provided for
reference only.
Intended use
The headset is intended to be used indoors and
by adults only. The headset is not designed to be
used by children. If you do not use the headset as
intended, it may cause the headset to malfunction.
The VR-1 serial number is printed on the type label
located under the face mask. You can remove the
face mask according to the instructions in the VR-1
Quick Guide.
High Risk Use
Varjo Software and/or Products are not designed,
engineered nor certified for control of any
equipment or system including aviation, industrial,
commercial, military or medical equipment or
systems in such a way where such use or a
malfunction of the Software or Products could with
a meaningful probability lead to death or serious
bodily injury of any person or animal, or to severe
physical or environmental damage (“High Risk
Use”).
VARJO STRONGLY ADVICES YOU AGAINST USING
THE SOFTWARE OR PRODUCTS FOR ANY HIGH
RISK USE.
In case You still decide to use the Software and/or
Products for High Risk Use, You do so at your own
risk and liability and agree to take all reasonable
precautions to minimize any risk and damage
resulting of such High Risk Use and/or failure of
Software and/or Products in such High Risk Use.
Health and safety warnings
To reduce the risk of personal injury, discomfort, or
property damage, please ensure that all users of the
headset read the warnings below carefully before
using the headset.
Before using the headset
A comfortable virtual reality experience
requires an unimpaired sense of motion and
balance. Do not use the headset if you are sick,
tired, sleepy, under the influence of alcohol or drugs,
being hung-over, having digestive problems, under
emotional stress or anxiety, suffering from cold, flu,
migraines, or headaches, or are not generally feeling
well, as it may worsen your condition.
Consult a doctor before using the headset if you
have any conditions that impair your vision or
mobility, are pregnant or elderly, have a heart
condition or other serious medical condition, suffer
from seizures, migraines, or psychiatric conditions.

Safe environment
Use the headset only in a safe environment,
as you may not notice real world obstacles in virtual
reality.
yAlways be aware of your surroundings before
starting to use and while using the headset.
yNever use the headset in situations that require
attention, such as walking, bicycling, or driving.
Do not use the headset while in a moving vehicle.
yRemember that while using the headset, you may
be unaware that people may enter your area.
yClear the area from obstacles and hazards,
people, furniture, and any other items that can
prevent you from moving freely before using the
headset.
yDo not use the headset near walls, stairs,
balconies, windows, open doorways, low ceilings,
ceiling fans, light fixtures, breakable items, open
flames, heat sources, or any other items you can
bump into or knock down.
yKeep in mind the location of the cables and
power cords so that you do not walk on, trip over,
or pull on them while using the headset. Do not
jerk, knot, or bend cables or cords.
yDo not handle sharp or otherwise dangerous
objects while using the headset.
Seizures
Some people may experience severe
dizziness, fainting, epileptic seizures or blackouts
triggered by light flashes, patterns, or exposure to
infrared light sources of an eye tracker even though
they have no history of these conditions. If you
experience any of these symptoms, stop using the
headset and consult a doctor. If you have a previous
history with these symptoms, consult a doctor
before using the headset. To reduce the likelihood
of a seizure, do not use the headset when you are
tired.
Discomfort
Some people may experience dry eyes,
eye strain, eye or muscle twitching, involuntary
movements, altered, blurred or double vision
or other visual abnormalities, dizziness,
lightheadedness, disorientation, discomfort or
pain in the head or eyes, headache, impaired
balance, impaired hand-eye coordination, excessive
sweating, increased salivation, nausea, fatigue, loss
of awareness, or seizures or other symptoms of
motion sickness, when using virtual reality.
When you start to use virtual reality, keep your first
sessions short and take regular breaks. If you feel
discomfort, stop using the headset and continue
only after the symptoms have disappeared. Do not
drive, operate machinery, or engage in other visually
or physically demanding activities until you have
fully recovered from any symptoms.
Overuse
Take regular breaks when using the
headset. Prolonged use may impact your hand-eye
coordination or balance, and may cause other
negative effects.
Repetitive stress injuries
Use the headset in a comfortable position.
Do not use excess force when gripping the headset
or pressing the buttons. If you experience tingling,
numbness, burning, stiffness, throbbing, or other
discomfort, stop using the headset and rest until

you have fully recovered from any symptoms. If you
continue to experience these symptoms, consult a
doctor.
Interference with medical
devices
The headset may emit radio waves, which could
affect the operation of nearby electronics, including
cardiac pacemakers, hearing aids and defibrillators.
If you have a pacemaker or other implanted
medical device, do not use the headset without first
consulting a doctor or the manufacturer of your
medical device. Maintain a safe distance between
the headset and your medical devices, and stop
using the headset if you observe any interference
with your medical device.
Hearing loss
Excessive exposure to loud sounds can
cause hearing damage. When you start using
compatible headphones with the headset, start
with the volume at a low level and then increase the
volume slowly. Do not turn up the volume too high.
Electrical shock
Do not try to disassemble, open, service, or
modify the headset or power supply unit, as it can
lead to electrical shock or other hazards and may
damage the headset or the power supply unit. For
PLUGGABLE EQUIPMENT, the socket-outlet shall
be installed near the equipment and shall be easily
accessible.
Use the headset only with the power supply unit
(Salcomp S51A00, INPUT 100-240V~, 50-60Hz,
1.3A, OUTPUT 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/3A) and
Link Box (LB-1) included in the sales box. Using
other power supply units may be dangerous.
Damaged or broken device
Do not use the headset if any part is
broken or damaged, the provided cables are torn, or
any wires are exposed. Do not try to repair any part
of the headset yourself. Repairs should be made
only by an authorized service facility or Varjo.
Contagious conditions
To avoid transferring contagious
conditions, do not share the headset with persons
with contagious conditions, infections, or diseases,
particularly of the eyes, skin, or scalp.
Skin irritation
Stop using the headset if you experience
swelling, itchiness, or other irritation. If the
symptoms persist, consult a doctor.
Safety information
To prevent injury to yourself or others or damage to
your headset, read this safety information before
using it.
Safe and comfortable use
When you put on the headset for the first time,
follow the instructions on how to position the
headset on your face correctly. Loosen the headset
first by opening the head strap, and then turning the
adjustment wheel. Put the headset on, and tighten
the headset by first turning the adjustment wheel,
and then tightening the head strap. There should
be no pain or pressure on your head, and the face
mask should feel comfortable on your face.

When you use the headset, the headset adjusts the
lenses automatically based on your interpupillary
distance. This setting is on by default. We
recommend that you keep the setting on. Switch
off the setting if the automatic adjustment does
not work, for example due to eyeglasses, sensitivity
to infrared light, or any conditions that impair your
vision. If you switch off the automatic adjustment,
you may feel discomfort.
Check that you have enough space above and
around you so that you can extend your arms while
using the headset.
Lift the headset by holding the headset body or the
head band. Do not lift the headset by holding the
face mask or cables.
For the best performance, cover all reflective
surfaces in the area where you use the headset.
Care and maintenance
Handle your device with care and keep it in a clean
and dust-free place.
Placement
Use the headset only in adequately ventilated areas.
yDo not cover the headset.
yDo not cover the ventilation holes on top of the
headset with the head strap or any other item.
yDo not place the headset near any items that
could scratch the lenses.
yDo not expose the headset to open flames or lit
smoking products.
yDo not place the headset near heat sources, hot
areas, or extreme temperatures.
yDo not use the headset near water or
liquid. Do not use the headset after a dramatic
change in temperature. When you move the
headset between environments with very
different temperature and/or humidity ranges,
condensation may form on or within the headset.
Allow enough time for the moisture to evaporate
before using the headset.
Note: When you take the headset from low-
temperature conditions into warmer environment
or from high-temperature conditions into a cooler
environment, allow the headset to acclimate to
room temperature before turning on power.
Sunlight and external light sources
Do not leave the headset in direct sunlight or strong
ultraviolet light. Exposure to direct sunlight can
damage the optics and display.
Do not shine a laser or an external light source
through the lenses.
Damage
Do not drop, throw or try to bend the
headset. If you drop the headset and suspect
damage, check varjo.com/support for maintenance
instructions.
Damage requiring service
Use only qualified personnel to service the
headset. Contact an authorized service facility if:
yThe headset has been exposed to liquid or
dropped.
yThe headset has been subject to impact or is
damaged.

yThe headset overheats.
yThe headset does not operate normally when you
follow the operating instructions.
Cleaning
Unplug the headset from its power source before
cleaning.
Clean the headset with non-abrasive anti-bacterial
wipes. Do not use soap, harsh chemicals, cleaning
solvents, liquid cleansers, or aerosols. Never use
water to clean the headset.
Clean the headset lenses gently with a dry optical
lens micro-fiber cloth. Do not clean lenses with any
liquid or chemical cleansers.
Clean the face mask cushion with a damp cloth.
First, dampen a clean, smooth cloth with water (up
to 40°C/104°F) and then gently wipe the area you
want to clean. Air dry at room temperature. Do not
tumble dry, iron, or expose the cushion to direct
sunlight. Do not scrub, wring, or bleach the cushion.
Children
Do not leave the headset within the reach
of children or allow them to use or play with it. They
could hurt themselves or others, or could damage
the headset.
Device temperature
During extended operation, the headset may feel
warm. This is normal. If the headset feels too hot, it
may not be working properly. Check
varjo.com/support for the nearest authorized
service facility.
Accessories
Do not use the headset with any unauthorized
or incompatible accessories or software. Using
unauthorized accessories or software may cause
performance issues or result in injury or damage.
Check varjo.com/support for a list of compatible
accessories or software.
Operating and storage temperatures
Use the headset at temperatures between 10°C to
27°C (50° to 80°F). Store the headset in its sales
box to minimize unintentional damage or exposure,
at temperatures between 0°C to 40°C (32°F to
104°F).

Recycling
The Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment (WEEE), which entered into
force on 13th February 2003, resulted in a major
change in the treatment of electrical equipment at
end-of-life. Check the local regulations for proper
disposal of electronic products.
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on
your headset, battery, literature, or
packaging reminds you to take all electrical
and electronic products, batteries, and used
packaging materials to separate collection at the
end of their working life. Do not dispose of these
products as unsorted municipal waste: take them

for recycling. For info on your nearest recycling
point, check with your local waste authority.

Limited Business Warranty
THE VARJO PRODUCT AND VARJO ACCESSORY
IS INTENDED FOR BUSINESS USE AND IS NOT
INTENDED TO BE SOLD TO CONSUMERS. THIS
LIMITED BUSINESS WARRANTY (“LIMITED
WARRANTY”) IS SUBJECT TO THE VARJO PRODUCT
BEING REGISTERED TO YOUR “CUSTOMER
SUCCESS LICENSE.” THIS LIMITED WARRANTY
GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU
MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER LEGAL RIGHTS, WHICH
VARY FROM STATE TO STATE AND COUNTRY TO
COUNTRY.
1. Definitions
The following definitions apply to this Limited
Warranty:
y“Varjo Product” means the Varjo virtual reality
headset and any accessories provided in the
box at the time of original purchase from an
authorized retailer or Varjo (“Authorized Retailer”).
y“Varjo Accessory” means any accessory that is
sold separately by authorized retailer or Varjo
(“Authorized Retailer”).
y“You” and “Your” refer to the original business
user who bought the Varjo Product from an
Authorized Retailer.
y“Warranty Period” is twelve (12) months from the
date You purchased the Varjo Product from an
Authorized Retailer.
y“Normal Use Conditions” means ordinary business
use in accordance with the User Manual.
y“User Manual” means any and all use instructions,
safety guidance and other documentation
provided in the box or posted on-line by Varjo.
2. Coverage
Varjo warrants, only to You that, during the Warranty
Period, the Varjo Product and Varjo Accessory
will function substantially in accordance with
Varjo’s technical specifications under Normal Use
Conditions. The Limited Warranty is subject to the
Varjo Product being registered to Your “Customer
Success License.” This Limited Warranty does not
cover any software or other products required to
use the Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory which are
not in the box at the time of original purchase of the

Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory. Such products
are subject to their own use or other terms, even if
intended or labelled to be used together with the
Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory.
This Limited Warranty is valid and enforceable
only if You purchased a new Varjo Product or Varjo
Accessory from an Authorized Retailer and the
Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory was sold to You in
its original, sealed packaging. You may not assign
or transfer this Limited Warranty to any third party,
unless such restriction is prohibited by mandatory
law.
If You return the Varjo Product and Varjo Accessory
during the Warranty Period and it satisfies the
terms of this Limited Warranty, Varjo or its service
partner will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace
it. Repair or replacement may involve the use of a
functionally equivalent reconditioned Varjo Product,
Varjo Accessory and/or reconditioned parts, unless
prohibited by law. When replacing the Varjo Product
or Varjo Accessory, Varjo may replace it with either
the same model, or if not available, a model which
is nearest to the original model. Varjo or its service
partner will at its own expense return the repaired
or replacement Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory to
You. Any Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory that You
send to Varjo which is replaced by Varjo becomes
the property of Varjo.
If Varjo repairs or replaces the Varjo Product or
Varjo Accessory, the repaired or replaced Varjo
Product or Varjo Accessory shall continue to be
warranted for the remaining time of the original
Warranty Period or for three (3) months from the
date of repair or replacement, whichever is longer.
Repair or replacement of the Varjo Product or Varjo
Accessory is Your sole and exclusive remedy and
Varjo’s sole obligation for any claims whatsoever
or any losses resulting from the failure of the Varjo
Product or Varjo Accessory. If we determine, in our
sole discretion, that none of the listed means are
reasonable to correct for a defect or malfunction,
then we may refund to You the price You paid to
purchase the Product or Accessory.
This Limited Warranty is the final, complete and
exclusive warranty offered by Varjo regarding the
Varjo Product and Varjo Accessory, and no other
person or entity (including the Authorized Reseller)
is authorized to make any other warranties or
representations on behalf of Varjo. EXCEPT FOR
THE EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTIES PROVIDED IN
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, VARJO DISCLAIMS ALL
OTHER EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND
REPRESENTATIONS OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING ANY
IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, AND
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. EXCEPT
AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS LIMITED
WARRANTY, ALL VARJO PRODUCTS AND VARJO
ACCESSORIES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “WITH
ALL FAULTS”. If and to the extent that an implied
warranty cannot be disclaimed, its duration is
limited to the Warranty Period. If the mandatory law
applicable to You does not allow limitations on how
long an implied warranty lasts, this limitation may
not apply to You.
In case you are not the original purchaser of the
Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory, this Limited

Warranty does not apply to you. If the Warranty
Period has expired, if the Varjo Product or Varjo
Accessory does not fulfill the conditions of this
Limited Warranty, or if You fail to make Your
warranty claim in accordance with Section 5, this
Limited Warranty does not apply. In case this
Limited Warranty does not apply, Varjo may offer
You out-of-warranty services against a fee and You
may be responsible for any expenses related to the
repair or replacement of Your Varjo Product or Varjo
Accessory.
3. How Can You Get Service?
If You have a problem with Your Varjo Product or
Varjo Accessory, please visit us at
varjo.com/support to get helpful service and
contact information, and to submit a claim form to
obtain warranty service. If it is necessary for You
to send Your Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory in
for service, we will provide You instructions how
to do this. You may be required to pay the cost of
shipping the Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory to
us. When we receive the Varjo Product or Varjo
Accessory, we will determine if there is a defect
or malfunction covered by this Limited Warranty.
If we find a defect or malfunction covered by this
Limited Warranty, we will repair or replace the Varjo
Product or Varjo Accessory to provide You a Varjo
Product or Varjo Accessory that is substantially in
accordance with Varjo’s technical specifications
under Normal Use Conditions, and we will send
the repaired Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory or
a replacement Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory,
if any, to You at our cost. We may not return the
original Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory to You.
If You send us a Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory
without a valid proof of purchase, then we will
return the Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory to
You at Your cost, subject to prepayment, or, if
such costs are not prepaid, we will keep the Varjo
Product or Varjo Accessory for thirty (30) days for
Your pick-up before it is disposed of.
4. What is not covered?
This Limited Warranty does not cover and Varjo is
not responsible for (i) used or resold Varjo Products
or Varjo Accessories; (ii) Varjo Products or Varjo
Accessories not purchased from Authorized
Retailers; or (iii) any software (including but not
limited to any software on the Varjo Product or
Varjo Accessory and any PC software provided by
Varjo).
Further, this Limited Warranty does not cover and
Varjo is not responsible for damage to the Varjo
Product or Varjo Accessory or loss of the Varjo
Product or Varjo Accessory resulting from (i) an
accident (e.g., accidental physical impact, exposure
to liquid, food or other contaminants, etc.) or
theft; (ii) use not in accordance with Normal Use
Conditions or any other misuse (including but not
limited to neglect, abuse or alteration); (iii) use
with an unsuitable product not sold or licensed
by Varjo; (iv) use with inadequate ventilation; (v)
use by children; (vi) circumvention of our security
mechanisms; (vii) reverse engineering; (viii)
defects or damage from viruses or other software
problems introduced into the Varjo Product or Varjo
Accessory; (ix) use of the Varjo Product or Varjo
Accessory in violation of any laws, regulations or
ordinances in effect where the Varjo Product or
Varjo Accessory is used; (ix) defects or damage

caused by unauthorized repairs; (x) Acts of God,
including but not limited to lightning, flood, tornado,
earthquake, or hurricane; and/or (xi) cosmetic
damages (e.g. scratches).
Additionally, this Limited Warranty does not cover
and Varjo is not responsible for damage to the Varjo
Product or Varjo Accessory or loss of the Varjo
Product or Varjo Accessory resulting from normal
wear and tear and normal depletion of consumable
parts.
Finally, this Limited Warranty does not include any
specific guarantees that the Varjo Product or Varjo
Accessory will be error-free, or regarding uptime
or continued availability, data security features of
software or online accounts, or that any software,
firmware or online sites will function uninterrupted
or error-free. This Limited Warranty is void if a
Varjo Product or Varjo Accessory is returned with
removed, damaged or tampered labels or any
alterations (including the unauthorized removal of
any component or external cover). [This Limited
Warranty does not cover data loss; it is Your
responsibility to back up Your data, electronically
or physically, on a regular basis if you wish to
retain Your data. Any damages or costs related
to data recovery, removal, and installation are not
recoverable under this Limited Warranty.]
5. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY
APPLICABLE LAW, NEITHER VARJO NOR ITS
SUPPLIERS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY
INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL,
PUNITIVE, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT
NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS OR COMMERCIAL
LOSS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF
BUSINESS INFORMATION, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS
OF PRIVACY, LOSS OF CONFIDENTIALITY, COST
OF ANY REPLACEMENT GOODS OR SUBSTITUTE
EQUIPMENT, OR LOSS OF USE WHILE THE VARJO
PRODUCT OR VARJO ACCESSORY IS BEING
REPLACED OR REPAIRED. TO THE MAXIMUM
EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE
ENTIRE LIABILITY OF VARJO AND ITS SUPPLIERS
UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SHALL BE
LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID
BY YOU FOR THE VARJO PRODUCT OR VARJO
ACCESSORY. THESE EXCLUSIONS APPLY EVEN IF
A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OR
VARJO HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY
OF THESE DAMAGES, FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING
FROM OR RELATED TO THIS LIMITED WARRANTY,
REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF ACTION, WHETHER
IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE),
STRICT PRODUCT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER
CAUSE OF ACTION OR LEGAL OR EQUITABLE
THEORY. Some states and countries do not
allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental

6. General provisions
6.1 This Limited Warranty shall be subject to
Finnish law, excluding its choice of law

the International Sale of Goods shall not apply.
Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of
this Limited Warranty shall be finally settled by
arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration
Rules of the Finland Chamber of Commerce.
Seat of arbitration shall be Helsinki. The
language of the arbitration shall be English.
6.2 If any provision of this Limited Warranty is
found to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable
under the laws of any jurisdiction, this will not
affect the legality, validity or enforceability of
any other provision of the Limited Warranty.

Verwendung
Das Headset ist nur zur Verwendung durch
Erwachsene in geschlossenen Räumen vorgesehen.
Das Headset ist nicht zur Verwendung durch
Kinder geeignet. Eine nicht bestimmungsgemäße
Verwendung des Headsets kann zu Fehlfunktionen
führen.
Die VR-1 Seriennummer befindet sich auf dem
Typenschild unter der Gesichtsmaske. Sie
können die Gesichtsmaske abnehmen, wie in der
Schnellanleitung VR-1 beschrieben.
Hochrisikonutzung
Varjo-Software und/oder -Produkte sind nicht
für die Steuerung von Geräten oder Systemen
einschließlich solcher für Luftfahrt, industrielle oder

Vor der Verwendung des
Headsets
Ein angenehmes Virtual-Reality-Erlebnis
erfordert ein ungestörtes Bewegungs- und
Gleichgewichtsgefühl. Verwenden Sie das Headset
nicht, wenn Sie krank, müde oder schläfrig sind,
unter dem Einfluss von Alkohol oder Arzneimitteln
stehen, verkatert sind, an Verdauungsproblemen
bzw. unter emotionalem Stress oder
Angstzuständen leiden, erkältet sind, eine Grippe,
Migräne oder Kopfschmerzen haben oder sich
allgemein unwohl fühlen, da sich Ihr Zustand
ansonsten verschlechtern kann.
Sprechen Sie vor der Verwendung des Headsets mit
einem Arzt, wenn Sie an einer Erkrankung leiden,
die Ihre Sehkraft oder Beweglichkeit beeinträchtigt,
schwanger oder älter sind, ein Herzleiden oder eine
andere schwere Erkrankung aufweisen oder an
Anfällen, Migräne oder psychischen Erkrankungen
leiden.
Sichere Umgebung
Verwenden Sie das Headset nur in einer
sicheren Umgebung, da Sie reale Hindernisse in der

während Sie das Headset benutzen. Nicht an
den Kabeln ziehen, diese nicht verknoten oder
verbiegen.
yHantieren Sie nicht mit scharfen oder anderweitig
gefährlichen Gegenständen, während Sie das
Headset benutzen.
Anfälle
Bei einigen Menschen kann es zu starkem
Schwindelgefühl, Ohnmacht, epileptischen Anfällen
oder Bewusstseinsverlust kommen, die durch
Lichtblitze, Muster oder die Aussetzung gegenüber
Infrarot-Lichtquellen eines Eye-Trackers ausgelöst
werden, auch wenn in der Vorgeschichte keiner
dieser Zustände aufgetreten ist. Wenn eines dieser
Symptome auftritt, beenden Sie die Verwendung
des Headsets und sprechen Sie mit einem Arzt.

das Headset nicht, wenn Sie müde sind, um die

Unwohlsein
Bei einigen Menschen kann es bei
der Verwendung von Virtual-Reality-Systemen
zu Augentrockenheit, Augenbelastung,
Augen- oder Muskelzucken, unfreiwilligen
Bewegungen, verändertem, verschwommenem
oder doppeltem Sehen bzw. anderen
Sehstörungen, Schwindelgefühl, Benommenheit,
Orientierungslosigkeit, Unwohlsein oder Schmerzen
im Kopf oder den Augen, Kopfschmerzen,
Beeinträchtigung des Gleichgewichtsgefühls,
Beeinträchtigung der Hand-Augen-Koordination,
übermäßigem Schwitzen, erhöhtem Speichelfluss,
Übelkeit, Müdigkeit, Verlust des Bewusstseins,
Anfällen oder anderen Symptomen der
Bewegungskrankheit kommen.
Verwenden Sie das Virtual-Reality-System zu
Beginn nur für kurze Zeit und legen Sie regelmäßige
Pausen ein. Wenn Sie sich unwohl fühlen, beenden
Sie die Verwendung des Headsets und fahren Sie
erst fort, nachdem die Symptome verschwunden
sind. Führen Sie kein Fahrzeug, bedienen Sie keine
Maschinen und üben Sie keine anderen visuell oder
körperlich anstrengenden Tätigkeiten aus, bis Sie
sich vollständig von den Symptomen erholt haben.
Übermäßige Verwendung
Legen Sie während der Verwendung des
Headsets regelmäßige Pausen ein. Eine längere
Verwendung kann sich auf die Hand-Augen-
Koordination oder das Gleichgewicht von auswirken
sowie andere negative Auswirkungen haben.
Verletzungen durch
wiederholte Belastung
Verwenden Sie das Headset in einer komfortablen
Position. Wenden Sie zum Greifen des Headsets
bzw. zum Drücken die Tasten keine übermäßige
Kraft auf. Wenn Sie Kribbeln, Taubheit, Brennen,
Steifheit, Pochen oder andere Formen von
Unwohlsein erleben, beenden Sie die Verwendung
des Headsets und ruhen Sie sich aus, bis Sie sich
vollständig von den Symptomen erholt haben. Wenn
diese Symptome weiterhin auftreten, sprechen Sie
mit einem Arzt.
Störende Einwirkung auf
medizinische Geräte
Das Headset kann Funkwellen aussenden,
die den Betrieb elektronischer Geräte in der
Umgebung beeinträchtigen können, darunter
Herzschrittmacher, Hörgeräte und Defibrillatoren.
Wenn bei Ihnen ein Herzschrittmacher oder ein
anderes medizinisches Gerät implantiert wurde,
verwenden Sie das Headset nicht, ohne vorher mit
einem Arzt oder dem Hersteller des medizinischen
Geräts zu sprechen. Halten Sie einen sicheren
Abstand zwischen dem Headset und Ihrem
medizinischen Gerät ein und beenden Sie die
Verwendung des Headsets, wenn Sie eine störende
Einwirkung auf Ihr medizinisches Gerät feststellen.
Hörverlust
Übermäßige Aussetzung gegenüber lauten
Geräuschen kann zu Hörschäden führen. Beginnen
Sie bei der Verwendung kompatibler Kopfhörer mit
dem Headset bei niedriger Lautstärke und erhöhen

Sie die Lautstärke anschließend langsam. Erhöhen
Sie die Lautstärke nicht zu sehr.
Elektrischer Schlag
Versuchen Sie nicht, das Headset oder das
Netzteil zu zerlegen, zu öffnen, zu warten oder zu
verändern, da dies einen elektrischen Schlag oder
andere Gefahren zur Folge haben oder das Netzteil
beschädigen kann. Bei STECKBAREN GERÄTEN
muss die Steckdose in der Nähe des Geräts
installiert werden und leicht zugänglich sein.
Verwenden Sie das Headset nur mit dem Netzteil
(Salcomp S51A00, INPUT 100–240V~, 50–60Hz,
1,3A, OUTPUT 5V/3A, 9 V/3 A, 15V/3A, 20V/3A)
und der in der Verkaufsbox enthaltenen Link Box
(LB-1). Die Verwendung anderer Netzteile kann
gefährlich sein.
Beschädigtes oder defektes
Gerät
Verwenden Sie das Headset nicht, wenn ein Teil
defekt oder beschädigt ist, die mitgelieferten Kabel
gerissen sind oder Drähte freiliegen. Versuchen
Sie nicht, Teile des Headsets selbst zu reparieren.
Reparaturen dürfen nur von einer autorisierten
Kundendienststelle oder Varjo durchgeführt werden.
Ansteckende Krankheiten
Um eine Übertragung ansteckender
Krankheiten zu vermeiden, teilen Sie das Headset
nicht mit Personen mit ansteckenden Krankheiten
bzw. Infektionen, insbesondere von Augen, Haut
oder Kopfhaut.
Reizung der Haut
Beenden Sie die Verwendung des
Headsets, wenn Schwellungen, Juckreiz oder
andere Reizungen auftreten. Wenn die Symptome
weiterhin auftreten, sprechen mit einem Arzt.
Sicherheitshinweise
Um Verletzungen an sich selbst, anderer Personen
oder Schäden am Headset zu vermeiden, lesen Sie
vor der Verwendung diese Sicherheitshinweise.
Sichere und bequeme Nutzung
Befolgen Sie beim erstmaligen Anlegen des
Headsets die Anweisungen zur Positionierung
des Headsets auf dem Gesicht. Lockern Sie das
Headset zunächst durch Öffnen des Kopfriemens
und anschließendes Drehen des Einstellrads. Legen
Sie das Headset an und sorgen Sie für festen
Sitz, indem Sie zuerst das Einstellrad drehen und
anschließend das Kopfband festziehen. Es dürfen
keine Schmerzen oder Druck auf den Kopf spürbar
sein und die Gesichtsmaske muss angenehm am
Gesicht anliegen.
Bei der Verwendung passt das Headset die Linsen
automatisch entsprechend Ihrem Pupillenabstand
an. Diese Einstellung ist standardmäßig aktiviert.
Es wird empfohlen, diese Einstellung beizubehalten.
Schalten Sie die Einstellung aus, wenn die
automatische Einstellung nicht funktioniert, zum
Beispiel aufgrund einer Brille, Empfindlichkeit
gegenüber Infrarotlicht oder von Bedingungen, die
Ihr Sehvermögen beeinträchtigen. Wenn Sie die
automatische Einstellung ausschalten, kann es
vorkommen, dass Sie sich unwohl fühlen.

Überprüfen Sie, ob über Ihnen und um Sie herum
genügend Platz vorhanden ist, sodass Sie Ihre Arme
bei der Verwendung des Headsets ausstrecken
können.
Zum Abnehmen heben Sie das Headset nur an
dem Gehäuse oder am Kopfband an. Heben Sie
das Headset nicht an der Gesichtsmaske oder den
Kabeln an.
Decken Sie für bestmögliche Leistung alle
reflektierenden Oberflächen in dem Bereich ab, in
dem Sie das Headset verwenden.
Pflege und Wartung
Gehen Sie vorsichtig mit dem Gerät um und halten
Sie es sauber und staubfrei.
Aufbewahrung
Verwenden Sie das Headset nur in ausreichend
belüfteten Bereichen.
yDecken Sie das Headset nicht ab.
yDecken Sie die Belüftungsöffnungen oben am
Headset nicht mit dem Kopfriemen oder anderen
Gegenständen ab.
yLegen Sie das Headset nicht in der Nähe von
Gegenständen ab, die die Linsen zerkratzen
könnten.
ySetzen Sie das Headset nicht offenen Flammen
oder angezündeten Rauchwaren aus.
yLegen Sie das Headset nicht in der Nähe von
Wärmequellen, in heißen Bereichen oder bei
extremen Temperaturen ab.
yVerwenden Sie das Headset nicht in der Nähe
von Wasser oder Flüssigkeiten.
yVerwenden Sie das Headset nicht nach
extremen Temperaturveränderungen. Wenn
das Headset zwischen Umgebungen mit
sehr unterschiedlichen Temperatur- und
Luftfeuchtigkeitsbereichen bewegt wird, kann
sich Kondenswasser auf oder innerhalb des
Headsets bilden. Warten Sie ausreichend lange,
damit die Feuchtigkeit verdunsten kann, bevor
Sie das Headset verwenden.
Hinweis: Wenn Sie das Headset aus einer
Umgebung mit niedrigen Temperaturen in eine
wärmere Umgebung oder von einer Umgebung
mit hohen Temperaturen in eine kühlere
Umgebung bringen, warten Sie, bis das Headset
Raumtemperatur erreicht hat, bevor Sie die
Stromzufuhr einschalten.
Sonnenlicht und externe
Lichtquellen
Setzen Sie das Headset nicht direktem Sonnenlicht
oder starkem UV-Licht aus. Die Aussetzung
gegenüber direktem Sonnenlicht kann die Optik und
das Display beschädigen.
Lassen Sie keinen Laserstrahl oder eine externe
Lichtquelle durch die Linsen fallen.
Beschädigung
Das Headset nicht fallenlassen,
werfen oder versuchen, es zu verbiegen. Wenn
Sie das Headset fallenlassen und vermuten,
das es beschädigt wurde, lesen Sie die
Wartungsanweisungen unter varjo.com/support.

Eine Instandsetzung
erfordernde Beschädigung
Die Instandsetzung des Headsets darf
ausschließlich durch qualifiziertes Personal
erfolgen. Wenden Sie sich an eine autorisierte
Kundendienststelle, wenn:
ydas Headset Flüssigkeiten ausgesetzt oder
fallengelassen wurde.
ydas Headset Stößen ausgesetzt oder beschädigt
wurde.
ysich das Headset zu stark erhitzt hat.
ydas Headset nicht normal funktioniert, obwohl
Sie die Bedienungsanleitung befolgen.
Reinigung
Trennen Sie das Headset vor der Reinigung von der
Stromversorgung.
Reinigen Sie das Headset mit abriebfesten
antibakteriellen Tüchern. Verwenden Sie keine Seife,
scharfe Chemikalien, Reinigungslösungen, flüssige
Reinigungsmittel oder Aerosole. Verwenden Sie
niemals Wasser, um das Headset zu reinigen.
Reinigen Sie die Linsen des Headsets vorsichtig
mit einem trockenen Mikrofasertuch für optische
Linsen. Reinigen Sie de Linsen nicht mit flüssigen
oder chemischen Reinigungsmitteln.
Reinigen Sie das Gesichtspolster mit einem
feuchten Tuch. Befeuchten Sie zunächst ein
sauberes, glattes Tuch mit Wasser (bis 40°C/104
°F) und wischen Sie anschließend die zu reinigende
Fläche vorsichtig ab. Lassen Sie das Polster bei
Raumtemperatur an der Luft trocknen. Das Polster
nicht im Trockner trocknen, bügeln oder direkter
Sonneneinstrahlung aussetzen. Das Polster nicht
bürsten, auswringen oder bleichen.
Kinder
Bewahren Sie das Headset außerhalb der
Reichweite von Kindern auf und lassen Sie sie das
Headset nicht verwenden oder damit spielen. Die
Kinder könnten sich selbst oder andere verletzen
oder das Headset beschädigen.
Temperatur des Geräts
Bei längerem Betrieb kann sich das Headset warm
anfühlen. Das ist normal. Wenn sich das Headset zu
heiß anfühlt, funktioniert es möglicherweise nicht
richtig. Gehen Sie zu varjo.com/support, um die
nächstgelegene Kundendienststelle zu finden.
Zubehör
Verwenden Sie das Headset nicht mit Zubehörteilen
oder Software, die nicht zugelassen oder nicht
kompatibel sind bzw. ist. Die Verwendung von nicht
zugelassenem Zubehör oder nicht zugelassener
Software kann zu Leistungsproblemen führen
oder Verletzungen oder Beschädigung zur Folge

Liste kompatibler Zubehörteile bzw. kompatibler
Software abzurufen.
Betriebs- und Lagertemperatur
Verwenden Sie das Headset nur bei
Temperaturen zwischen 10°C und 27°C (50°F
bis 80 °F). Bewahren Sie das Headset in der
Verkaufsverpackung bei Temperaturen zwischen
0°C und 40°C (32 °F bis 104 °F) auf, um eine
unbeabsichtigte Beschädigung oder Aussetzung zu
verhindern.
