This vacuum cleaner is intended for household use only and NOT for commercial
or industrial use.
READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE.
• This appliance is battery-operated, and the battery is charged whilst inside the
appliance.
• Keep ngers, hair and loose clothing away from moving parts and openings whilst
using the vacuum cleaner.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should not play with
the vacuum cleaner. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be made by children.
• Do not pull or carry the appliance by the charger cord, use cord the as a handle, close
a door on the cord, or pull the cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not place the
product on cord. Do not run an appliance on the cord.
• Don’t handle the charger plug or use the vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
• Don’t use this vacuum cleaner if it has been dropped, damaged, immersed in water or
left outdoors.
• Don’t leave the vacuum cleaner in one spot for an extended period of time when the
brushbar is activated. This vacuum cleaner is tted with a rotating brushbar which if
left in one place may cause damage to the oor surface.
• Don’t attempt to remove blockages with sharp objects as this may cause damage to
the vacuum cleaner.
• Always make sure the lter and dirt bin are tted correctly before using your
vacuum cleaner.
• Always turn o and unplug from charger before carrying out any maintenance.
• Turn o all controls on the vacuum cleaner before disconnecting or connecting the
charger.
• Take extra care when cleaning on stairs.
• Always protect the charger cord from heated surfaces or near open ames.
• Keep all openings clear and free from debris as this may aect the airow/suction.
• Store your vacuum cleaner in a cool, dry area. If the lter has been cleaned as per
the instructions in this user guide, ensure it is thoroughly dry before storing the
appliance away.
• Always use with E-TEK Model ZD012A265050AU charger only.
• Use only Australian Certied approved 10amp extension cords, non-approved
extension cords may overheat.
• Only use the vacuum cleaner indoors and keep the area you’re cleaning well lit.
• Only Vax recommended tools and accessories should be used with this vacuum cleaner.
• This vacuum cleaner does not stay upright without constant support, in between uses lie at on the
oor in a suitable location so it does not become a trip hazard or can be stepped on.
• Keep the charger in a dry place, and only use the charger indoors.
• Do not use charger with damaged cord or plug. If appliance or charger is not working as it should,
has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors or dropped into water, take it to a Vax authorised repair
agent prior to continuing use. Please contact our Customer Care Line on: AU: 1300 829 287 / NZ:

area where there may be harmful uids (chlorine, bleach, and ammonia drain cleaner).
• Do not vacuum hard or sharp objects such as glass, nails, screws or coins etc.
• Don’t not vacuum plaster dust, concrete dust or any other building or vitreous material.
• Do not vacuum our, baking soda or any other powder-based carpet refresher or deodoriser.
• Do not charge the vacuum in a damp or wet location, this will reduce the risk of electric shock.
• Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Care should be taken to arrange the extension cord as it can be a trip hazard.
• Always carry the vacuum cleaner by the handle.
• The charging port must be clean and free from dust and dirt.
• Store your vacuum cleaner in a cool, dry area. The appliance should be stored in a “charged” condition.
Minimum 30-50% charged for best battery life.
BATTERY SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
CAUTION: The battery used in this device may present a risk of re or chemical burn if mistreated.
Do not disassemble, heat or incinerate, and do not dispose of in re.
The battery and charger have no serviceable parts. Fire or injury may result.
The battery must be removed from the appliance by a qualied person and disposed of safely.
For best results, charge the battery in a location where the temperature is more than 10°C but less than
37°C. To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, do not store outside or in vehicles.
Do not expose to high temperatures above 38°C.

Assembly
Line up the connector on
the reach wand with the
oor head. Push the reach
wand down onto the oor
head until it clicks into
place.

oor, in a suitable location

hazard or can be stepped on.
PLEASE READ ‘LET’S TALK SAFETY’ AT THE BEGINNING BEFORE USE
Before you begin
CAUTION: Always switch o the vacuum cleaner before connecting or disconnecting the handheld/attachments
or removing and emptying the dust bin.
IMPORTANT: The vacuum cleaner is equipped with overheat protection. If for any reason the vacuum cleaner does
overheat the thermostat will automatically turn the vacuum cleaner o. This would be indicated by all three lights
on the Power and Charge Indicator ashing. If this happens, empty the dust bin and check the vacuum cleaner for
blockages. Allow the vacuum cleaner to cool for approximately 1 hour (if you have washed the lter please wait 24
hours for the lter to fully dry before reinstalling back into the machine).
For best cleaning results, lter should be tapped over a bin every 4-6 uses, to remove dirt and debris, and replaced
every 6-9 months, depending upon use. Also, regularly remove any threads or hair from around the brushbar for best
performance.
CAUTION: This vacuum cleaner is not free standing. In between uses or when carrying out any maintenance always
lie the vacuum at on the oor, in a suitable location so it does not become a trip hazard or can be stepped on.
Getting started
Installing the wall mount
Fully assemble the
vacuum and attach the
wall mount into the
handle. With the wall
mount attached, stand the
vacuum close to the wall,
in the upright position
with the oor head at on
the oor.
Holding the wall bracket
rmly in place, carefully
remove the vacuum.
Using a pencil make
a small mark for each
screw. Use both screws
and wall plugs to secure
the wall bracket to the
wall.
The accessories can also be
stored on the wall mount.
NOTE: The wall mount should be installed near a power supply where the charger cord can extend from the vacuum
down to the plug in the wall.
IMPORTANT: The wall mount is not designed to hold the full weight of the vacuum. The oor head should be
positioned at on the surface of the oor to support the weight of the vacuum while the wall mount positions the
vacuum in the upright position.

replaceable part. Use of another battery may present a risk of re or explosion. Keep away from children. Do not
dispose of in a re and do not remove any component projecting from the battery terminals. The battery and charger
have no user serviceable parts. Fire or injury may result. The battery is to be disposed of safely at your local battery
recycling centre.
Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. The appliance must be disconnected from the charger before
use. In case of battery leakages avoid any contact with the skin. If liquid comes into contact with the skin, wash
immediately with soap and water, then neutralise with lemon juice or vinegar. If liquid gets into the eyes, ush with
clean water for at least 10 minutes, then seek immediate medical attention.

NOTE: Fully charge the battery before use. Failure to fully charge the battery before rst use may result in poor
battery performance. The vacuum can either be charged with the handheld attached to, or detached from, the reach
wand.
Charging the battery
WARNING: Do not attempt to use the vacuum cleaner when the machine is plugged in and charging.
WARNING: For best performance the charging port must be clean and free from dust and dirt. The life expectancy
of the battery will vary depending on the usage of the vacuum cleaner.
CAUTION: When using the vacuum continuously the battery pack will become hot. If this occurs the vacuum should
be left to cool before attempting to recharge. When the battery pack cools, the charger will automatically begin
charging.
While charging, the Power and Charge Indicator lights will illuminate to show the
current level of charge.
Flashing lights – The battery is charging.
Three solid lights – The battery is fully charged (after 5 hours). The lights will then
turn o approximately one minute after the battery is fully charged.

NOTE: Fully charge the battery before using the vacuum for the rst time.
During use if the battery requires charging the last light will ash until the vacuum runs out of the power. If this
occurs the vacuum cannot be turned on and requires charging, all three lights on the Power and Charge Indicator will
ash to indicate this status.
Using your machine
Using your vacuum cleaner
Press the On/O Trigger
located on the handle,
the machine will switch
‘On’. The Power and
Charge Indicator lights will
illuminate indicating that
the power is on. Press the
trigger again to switch the
machine ‘O’.
When the machine is
in use the Power and
Charge Indicator lights will
illuminate indicating how
much charge is remaining.
When the vacuum is
running low on power the
bottom light will ash
indicating that the battery
is running low and
charging is required.
Multi-Surface Floor Head
is engineered for optimal
cleaning performance on
carpet and hard oors.
CAUTION: This vacuum cleaner has a constantly rotating brushbar, which is activated when the vacuum is switched
on. Never leave the vacuum cleaner in one spot for an extended period of time as this may damage the oor surface.
CAUTION: Ensure that the vacuum is switched o before performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks.
Microbre Hard Floor

Using as a handheld vacuum cleaner

brush, upholstery tool or a
crevice tool at the press of

The Mini Motorised Tool
tackles stubborn pet hair
on upholstery, stairs and
other compact areas.
CAUTION: Always take extra care when using the vacuum cleaner on the stairs. Ensure that the vacuum is switched
o before tting or removing accessories.

a bin, lift the Dust Bin
Lid Release to allow dirt/
debris to fall out.

WARNING: Don’t over ll the dust bin to avoid blocking the air ow through the vacuum cleaner. Do not exceed the
MAX line indicated on the side of the dust bin.
Taking care of your machine
Cleaning and replacing the lter
Press the Dust Bin
Release Button and turn
the dust bin until the arrow
symbol points to the unlock
symbol. Then pull away the
dust bin.
Once the dust bin is
removed the cyclone
separator can be lifted
away from the dust bin by
using the handle, as shown.
The dust bin and cyclone
separator can now be
cleaned.
To reinstall the dust bin,
ensure that the arrow
symbol points to the
unlock symbol. Then
turn the dust bin until the
arrow points to the locked
symbol.
Remove the lter from the
cyclone separator. Tap the
lter over a bin to remove
any dirt/debris or replace
the lter.
Remove the sponge lter
from the lter cover and
wash the sponge lter
under running water, if
required (40 degrees
max). Allow the lter to
dry for 24hrs or until fully
dry before reinstalling.
CAUTION: Ensure that the vacuum is switched o before performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks. For
continuous best performance, the lter should be tapped over a bin every 4-6 uses, to remove dirt and debris, and
replaced every 6-9 months, depending upon use. Do not use your vacuum cleaner without the lter in place.
To reinstall the dust bin
ensure that the plastic tab
on the cyclone separator
slots into the groove on
the dust bin, as indicated
by the arrow symbol on
side of the dust bin.

IMPORTANT: If the brushbar has been obstructed, the Motor Protection Sensor may have been activated and the
brushbar will stop. Remove the oor head from the machine and clear any obstruction. Ret the oor head, switch
on the vacuum cleaner by pressing the trigger.

Taking care of your machine
Removing blockages from reach wand and handheld
To test for a blockage in
the reach wand, drop a
small ball of paper into the
wand. The paper will drop
through if the wand is
clear. Use a broom handle
or similar blunt object to
remove any blockage.

Switch o the vacuum
and press the Floor
Head Release Button to
detach the oor head
from the wand. Slide
and hold the brushbar
release button with
one hand, using the
other hand remove the
brushbar from the oor
head.

Taking care of your machine
Removing blockages from oor heads and mini motorised tool
Remove the brushbar from the oor head and mini motorised tool and check for any
blockages. Use a blunt object to remove the blockage.
NOTE: Contents vary dependant on model purchased.
• Check the contents panel on the box to make sure the part is included
with your vacuum cleaner.
• The machine, oor head and reach wand may not be correctly tted. Go to ‘Getting
Starte d’.
• The battery may not be charged. Go to ‘Getting Started’.
• Battery might be too hot, allow the vacuum to cool for 1 hour.
• The vacuum cleaner has an overheat protection which will cut the machine out. If
this has happened, switch o the vacuum cleaner. Remove and empty the dust bin
and check for blockages. Clean the lter and allow the vacuum cleaner to cool for
approximately 1 hour (if you have washed the sponge lter you will need to wait 24
hours for the lter to fully dry before putting them back into the vacuum cleaner).
• The dust bin may not be correctly tted, remove the dust bin from the vacuum cleaner
and check it is assembled correctly, ret ensuring it’s locked into place.
• The cyclone separator is not correctly tted. Go to ‘Taking care of your machine’.
• The lter may be clogged, clean the lter. Go to ‘Taking care of your machine’.
• The dust bin may be blocked, empty the dirt container. Go to ‘Taking care of
your machine’.
• There may be a blockage in the reach wand. Disconnect from the vacuum cleaner
and carefully remove any blockages. Go to ‘Taking care of your machine’.
• Check the battery charger is plugged in. Go to ‘Getting started’.
