ZT-DVS-RM/B

Remote Microphone

The ZT-DVS-RM/B is a remote microphone for use with the ZT-MNS-100BAS Series Voice Evacuation panel.

Only one remote microphone can be used with each audio panel. (Note the 100BAS panel includes a

microphone.)

The ZT-DVS-RM/B microphone can be located up to 100 feet from the ZT-MNS-100BAS to provide paging

and live 'override' of the pre-recorded message and alert tones.

The microphone and interconnecting wires are supervised. A fault will cause the Control Board's System

LED, and the Remote Mic Fault LED to light.

The surface mounting steel enclosure includes a key locking hinged cover. The device can be placed in an

entry way for access by authorized personnel only. The 3-1/2” depth of the box complies with ADA

guidelines. Note the enclosure can be custom semi-flush mounted on-site.

The location of the remote microphone is determined by the system requirements. Acoustic coupling of the

microphone and a local speaker must be considered. Do not place directly below, or in front of the local

speaker. It is preferential that they be separated by 10 feet or more.

The ZT-MNS-RM/B surface mount metal box has four mounting holes in the back. To access the mounting

holes and the wiring connections, loosen the thumbscrew at the top of the front plate and remove the

entire dead front panel.

ZT-MNS-RM/B to ZT-MNS-100BAS Series, Installation

Connections (refer to the pictures and orientations shown below)

Note: The ZT-MNS-100BAS panel interfaces directly with the ZT-MNS-RM/B microphone.

Remote Mic:

1) Hold the Remote Mic panel assembly as shown in the illustrations

2) Remove the larger 4-pin header from its connector

3) Choose a color-code scheme for the wires, shown are the 4-conductor FPL colors;

Red (1) +, Yellow (2) A, Green (3) P, Black (4) -

4) Attach the wires to the header and re-insert into the connector

ZT-MNS-100BAS:

1) Locate and remove J3 on the left side of the main Control Module. This will result in a ' RM-FLT '

and 'System' fault until the Remote Mic is connected

2) Remove and store the two (2) Resistors attached to J4 pins 1&2 and 3&4

3) Attach the cabling for the RM, with the pin 1 going to the Remote Mic's pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2, etc

4) Re-attach J3 to the main board, the 'Remote Microphone' Fault (RM-Fault) should go away
