‐VELOS880helicoptermustonlybeoperated,servicedorrepairedbyexperiencedpilots.VELOS880ISNOTA
BEGINNER’SHELICOPTER.
‐Alwayswearsafetyglassesandtightbuteasy‐to‐moveclothesandtakeallappropriatesafetyprecautionswhen
flyingVELOS880helicopter.Don’twearnecklaces,braceletsoranyotherthingswhichyoucouldgetcaughtwith
thehelicopterorthetransmitter.
‐Lackofcarewithassemblyormaintenancecanresultinanunreliableanddangerousmodel.
‐Alwaysunplugthepowerconnectorsbeforeperforminganymaintenance,cleaningandrepairwork.
‐Damagedwiringorincorrectpolarityconnectionsmayleadtosparksforming,fire,destroyedelectronic
componentsor/andhelicoptercrash.
‐Regularservicingandinspectioninaccordancewiththedetailsprovidedinthisinstructionbookisessentialto
keepthehelicopteroperatingreliably.
‐VELOS880helicoptermustonlybeusedinopenspaceswithoutobstacles,andfarenough(atleast50meters)
frompeopletominimizethepossibilityofaccidentsorofinjurytopropertyorpersons.DonotflyVELOS880
helicopternearroads,electriclines,cars,schools,hospitals,byariverorseashore.Flyonlyinareasdedicatedto
theuseofmodelhelicopters.
‐PartsoftheVELOS880helicoptercangetextremelyhotduringaflight,andspecialcareshouldbetakentoavoid
burns.
‐Keepasafedistanceofatleast20metersbetweenyouandthemodelwhenflying.
‐Rangechecktheradiobeforethefirstflight.Theservosmustoperateproperlywithpowerreductiontestingata
rangeofatleast50meters.
‐ThefollowingpersonsorthoseinthefollowingphysicalconditionsshouldneveroperateVELOS880helicopter:
oPersonswhohavenoexperienceofR/Chelicopters.
oPersonsunderinfluenceofmedicine,alcoholordrugs.
NeitherVELOSROTORSLLCnoritsagentshaveanycontrolovertheassembly,maintenanceanduseofthis
product.Therefore,noresponsibilitycanbetracedbacktothemanufacturer.YouherebyagreetoreleaseVELOS
ROTORSfromanyresponsibilityorliabilityarisingfromtheuseofthisproduct.

Threadlockingagents
Undersomeconditions,specialchemicalcompoundscalledthread‐lockingagentsareneededtohelpthreaded
fastenersdotheirjob.Thread‐lockingagentscanbeusedwherevibrationwouldcausethefastenertoloosen.These
compoundsareanaerobicadhesivesthatsetupintheabsenceofair.Theseproductscomeinseveralgrades,
dependingonthedesiredstrength,withthemostpopularbeinghigh‐strengthredandsoft/medium‐strengthblue.
Considerthefollowingwhenusingthreadlockingagents:
Applicationofalockingagentincreaseslooseningtorque.Takecarenottodamagethebolt/screwduringremoval.
However,sometimesheat(usingaheatgun)isneededtosoftenthematerialwhenhigher‐strengthcompounds
areused.
Beforeapplyingthelockingagent,cleanoffalloiland/orresidualadhesiveremainingonthethreadsanddrythem
completely.
Applyingasmallamountofadhesivetotheendofthebolt/screwthreads(approx.2mm)distributestheadhesive
asit’sthreadedin.
Excessiveadhesivemay,duringloosening,damagethethreadorcausethebolt/screwtobebroken.Locking
agentsmaycauseplasticpartstocrack.
Donotuselockingagentsinplasticpartsandsafety(torque)nuts.
Threadfasteners
Hereareafewtipswhenworkingwiththreadedfasteners:
Beforeassemblyalwayscleanbolts,screws,andthreadsandblowthemdry.Dirtorforeignmatterunderthehead
oronthethreadswillpreventapropertorquefrombeingapplied,leadingtoloosening.
Donotlubricatefastenersunlessspecifiedinthemanual.
Boltorscrewlengthscanvaryfordifferentpartsandassemblies.Thesedifferentlengthsmustbeinstalledat
correctlocations.Ifyou’renotsure,placethebolt/screwonthecorrespondingimageatthebottomofeachpage
andcomparetheexposedlengths.Eachshouldbeexposedthesameamount.
Beforeanyreassemblyprocess,threadedfastenersmustbeinspected,cleaned,andifitisnecessaryreplacedby
newtoensurenormalfunctioningandflying.
Topreventwarpingimportantcomponentsandensureproperassembly,torquetomultiple‐sizedfastenersshould
beappliedkeepinginmindthefollowingpoints:
Tightenallfastenerstohand‐tight.
Torquetheboltsinsequencetothehalftorqueandthenrepeatthesequencetothefulltorquetoprevent
componentdamage.
Ifnosequenceisgiven,torquescrewscrosswiseanduniformly.

Donotopenallthebagsatonce.Therearestickersoneachbagthatcorrespondtoeachassembly.
