It is responsibility of the user appropriately decontaminate the instrument in case of dangerous substances fall on or in it accordingly to the
safety datasheet of substances used and to the current laboratories safety standards. It is not possible to decontaminate the product
under steam.
It is also responsibility of the user to use substances for cleaning or decontaminating which do not react with internal parts of the
instrument or with the material contained in it. In case of doubts on the compatibility of a cleaning solution, contact the manufacturer or
local distributor.
E’ responsabilità dell’utilizzatore un’appropriata decontaminazione in caso di versamento di sostanze pericolose sul o dentro l’apparecchio
in accordo con le schede di sicurezza delle sostanze utilizzate e agli standard di sicurezza in vigore nei laboratori. Non è possibile
decontaminare il prodotto con corrente di vapore.
E’ inoltre responsabilità dell’utilizzatore l’uso di sostanze decontaminanti o per la pulizia che non producano pericolo a causa di reazioni

The inside of the instrument is equipped with 230V - 50Hz electrical power sockets to power the Velp Scientifica devices for BOD
analysis. Do not switch on other electrical appliances inside the instrument unless approved by Velp Scientifica.
Do not connect other appliances with supply voltages other than 230V and with absorption greater than 3A.
L’interno dello strumento è dotato di prese di alimentazione elettrica 230V - 50Hz per poter alimentare gli apparecchi Velp Scientifica per
l’analisi del BOD. Non accendere altri apparecchi elettrici all’interno dello strumento se non approvati da Velp Scientifica.
Non collegare altri apparecchi con tensioni di alimentazione diverse da 230V e con assorbimento superiore a 3A.

The instrument contains a small amount of isobutiene refrigerant (R600a) in the refrigerant circuit, which is a natural gas with high
environmental compatibility but flammable. Ensure that each component of the refrigerant circuit is not damaged during transport or
installation. Refrigerant R600a is flammable. In case of breakage of the refrigerant circuit, avoid open flames, sparks and ventilate the
room in which the appliance is located.
Lo strumento contiene una piccola quantità di refrigerante isobutiene (R600a) nel circuito refrigerante, che è un gas naturale con alta

The instrument is equipped with a forced internal circulation of air, so make sure that the products positioned inside do not obstruct this
circulation or are kept detached from the rear and front internal walls.

The "IL" model has 2 lumined shelves each consisting of six LED bars, mounted horizontally in the lower part of the shelf, which illuminate
the shelf below. If you want to switch off the lighting before opening the door, you can do it by using the button on the front panel.

tasto posto sul pannello frontale.

For the electrical connection, carefully follow the instructions provided in the following manual. It is advisable to wait at least four hours
before connecting the appliance to allow the liquid refrigerant gas inside the refrigerant circuit to flow into the compressor.
Per il collegamento elettrico, seguire con attenzione le istruzioni fornite nel seguente manuale. E’ consigliabile attendere almeno quattro
ore prima di collegare l’apparecchio per consentire al gas refrigerante liquido all’interno del circuito refrigerante di fluire nel compressore.
Pour le raccordement électrique, suivez attentivement les instructions fournies dans le manuel suivant. Il est conseillé d'attendre au moins
quatre heures avant de brancher l'appareil pour permettre au gaz réfrigérant liquide à l'intérieur du circuit de réfrigérant de circuler dans le
compresseur.

Adequate air circulation should be around the appliance, failure leads to abnormal overheating which can cause performance loss.

1. Introduction
The unit offers excellent thermal stability and homogeneity at all temperature settings thanks to the “Auto Tuning” system. The refrigerated
thermostat’s purpose-built software monitors the ambient temperature constantly and activates the heating and cooling systems according
to need. The internal temperature is measured by the internal probe and is shown on the display. The instrument is turned on using the
ON/OFF switch. Instruments placed inside the incubator are powered directly by two internal sockets controlled by a switch on the control
panel. In accordance with current regulations, VELP incubators are CFC-free (free from chloro fluoro carbons). FOC 200I and FOC 120I
have an internal transparent door allowing the operator to view the samples without causing internal temperature variations. The
FOC200IL is equipped with 2 lighted shelves each with six led bars mounted horizontally below the shelf, which illuminate the shelf below.
A dedicated timer for the internal lighting allows you to create several operating cycles, with automatic switch off and on.
Description of controls
All the controls are located on the control panel at the top of the unit.
Mains switch (1): When lit the instrument is running.
Internal sockets (2): When lit, the sockets are powered.
Display (3): Shows the internal temperature.
Up button (4): Increases the value of the temperature setting.
Down button (5): Decreases the value of the temperature setting.

(P) button: use to program 16 ON/OFF settings.
Settings 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, are “ON” settings, the (P) symbol will
appear on RH side of the display .
Settings 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 are “OFF” settings, the (P) symbol will
not be present on the display.
(1...7) button: Day of week setting (present day and daily ON/OFF
settings). A different program can be set for each day of the week or
according to the following scheme:
1..5 (Monday to Friday) 1..6 (Monday to Saturday)
6..7 (Saturday and Sunday) 1..7 (7 days/week)
(h) button: Hour setting (clock and timer)
(m) button: Minute setting (clock and timer)
(-X->) button: Skip. Inverts the operating mode selected, i.e. from ON to OFF and vice versa.
(R) button: Reset. Cancels present day time and program settings. Before programming for the first time Reset as follows:
- Position the sliding switch (7) on RUN - Press the Reset button (R) using the tip of a pen/pencil.
2. Assembly and installation
Do not install the equipment near sources of heat (ovens, etc.). The unit should be installed in a well-ventilated area, avoid niches or small
rooms. To ensure good air circulation within the unit, do not place objects against the inside back panel.
Upon receipt and after having removed the packaging, please check the integrity of the instrument. The box includes:

2.1 Electrical connection
Before connecting the instrument to the power supply, make sure that the values on the rating plate correspond to those of the power
supply. Connect the unit to the power supply using the power cord supplied.
Ensure that the socket and the relative cut-off device conform to current safety norms and easy to reach.
2.2 Start-up
Connect the unit to mains and turn it on using the on-off switch. The green led indicates that the instrument is On.
NOTE: if the instrument has been transported or stored horizontally, leave it in the upright position for 24 hours before plugging in and
switching on. This will allow the cooling circuit to settle. Failure to carry out this procedure may result in the refrigerating system being
damaged, such damage is not covered by warranty.

3. Operating controls
3.1 Temperature setting
When the mains switch is turned on the display shows the internal temperature of the incubator. The thermostatting function is always
active. The set temperature is shown on the display when the “up” or “down” buttons are pressed.
To increase the temperature setting press the “up” button, to decrease the setting press “down”. The value increases or decreases in one-
digit steps, by keeping the button pressed for more than two seconds the numbers will run at a faster rate.
3.2 Introducing samples
Do not introduce products having a temperature higher than room temperature as this will raise the temperature inside the incubator and
risk damaging other products. The FOC 200I and FOC120I cooled incubators have an internal transparent door allowing the operator to
view the inside of the incubator without altering the internal temperature. Open the incubator door only when strictly necessary. By
reducing the number of times the door is opened you will avoid unnecessary temperature oscillations and reduce energy consumption.
Avoid introducing large quantities which would impair internal air circulation.
NOTE: do not place products or vessels near the rear wall since this impairs the vertical air flow along the wall.
Do not place products too near to the temperature probe since this will alter the internal temperature reading.The instrument has two
internal European sockets for the connection of VELP Scientifica instruments for BOD determination.
NOTE: instruments with a 230V power supply and a max. consumption of 3A only can be connected inside the unit.
3.3 Error messages
If an error message appears on the display, please contact VELP Scientifica’s technical service department.
When the display shows an error message, the instrument’s functions stop automatically.

NOTE: to remove the error message turn the instrument off and on again.
4. Maintenance
No routine or extraordinary maintenance is necessary apart from periodically cleaning the unit as described in this manual.
In compliance with the product guarantee law, repairs to our units must be carried out in our factory, unless previously agreed otherwise
with local distributors. The instrument must be transported in its original packaging and any indications present on the original packaging
must be followed (e.g. palletized).
It is the responsibility of the user, to properly decontaminate the unit in case of hazardous substances remaining on the surface or interior
of the device. If in doubt about the compatibility of a cleaning or decontamination product, contact the manufacturer or distributor.
4.1 Cleaning
Disconnect the unit from the power supply and use a cloth dampened with an non-inflammable non-aggressive detergent.

1. Introduzione
L'apparecchio permette di ottenere un'ottima stabilità e omogeneità termica a tutte le temperature impostate grazie al particolare sistema
di termoregolazione (Auto Tuning). Il software, di cui è dotato il frigotermostato, utilizza i gruppi riscaldamento e raffreddamento in modo
differente a secondo della temperatura ambiente che viene costantemente monitorata. Il valore della temperatura effettiva all'interno dello
strumento viene costantemente visualizzato sul display. E' possibile alimentare elettricamente all'interno del frigotermostato altri strumenti
mediante due prese interne comandate da un apposito interruttore esterno sul pannello di controllo. Il gruppo frigorifero rispetta le attuali
normative antinquinamento atmosferico senza l'utilizzo di C.F.C. (Cloro Fluoro Carburi).
Le versioni FOC200I e FOC120I sono dotate di una controporta interna trasparente che permette di controllare visivamente i campioni
sotto test senza che gli stessi subiscano variazioni della temperatura di incubazione.
La versione FOC215IL è dotata di 2 ripiani illuminati ciascuno costituito da sei barre led, montate orizzontalmente nella parte inferiore,
che illuminano il ripiano sotto. Un timer dedicato per l'illuminazione interna consente di creare diversi cicli operativi, con spegnimento
automatico.
Descrizione dei tasti
Tutti i comandi sono posti sul pannello comandi in alto allo strumento.
General Switch (1): Interruttore generale. L'illuminazione dello stesso indica l'avvenuta messa in marcia dell'apparecchio.
Inner Supply (2): Interruttore presa interna. L'illuminazione indica l'avvenuta alimentazione.
Temperature display (3): Visualizza normalmente la temperatura interna.
Up (4): Permette di aumentare il valore di Set Point.
Down (5): Permette di diminuire il valore di Set Point.

Quando sono indicate le selezioni 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, (punti attivi), il
simbolo apparirà sul lato destro del display.
Se sono indicate le selezioni 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 (punti di
esclusione), non comparirà alcun simbolo.
Tasto (1...7): Tasto d‘impostazione del giorno della settimana (giorno corrente e commutazione giornaliera). Quando si impostano i
tempi di commutazione si ha la possibilità di programmare per giorno o secondo i blocchi seguenti:
1..5 (Lunedì fino Venerdì) 1..6 (Lunedì fino Sabato) 6..7 (Sabato fino Domenica) 1..7 (Lunedì fino Domenica)
Tasto (h): Tasto di impostazione ora (per orario corrente e per tempo d‘impostazione)
Tasto (m): Tasto di impostazione minuti (per orario corrente e per tempo d‘impostazione)
Tasto (-X->): Funzione Skip. Premendo il tasto si inverte il modo di funzionamento impostato. Per esempio: se il programmatore è in
modo „on“, si spegnerà immediatamente e viceversa.
Tasto (R): Tasto di reset cancellerà tutte le impostazioni e l'ora del giorno corrente. Prima di impostare il primo programma bisogna
provvedere al Reset:
- Assicurarsi che l'interruttore a scorrimento (7) sia nella posizione RUN - Premere il tasto (R) con una punta.
2. Montaggio ed installazione
Evitare di installare l’apparecchio in prossimità di fonti di calore (stufe, caloriferi, ecc.). Cercare di installare il frigotermostato in un punto
ben areato, evitando nicchie, o locali troppo angusti. Evitare di appoggiare oggetti alla parete interna posteriore al fine di garantire un
buon ricircolo dell’aria all’interno dello strumento.
Verificare l’integrità dello strumento al ricevimento. Gli elementi contenuti nell’imballo sono i seguenti:

2.1 Collegamento alla rete elettrica
Prima di collegare l’unità alla rete di alimentazione elettrica, assicurarsi che i dati di targa dell’unità corrispondano a quelli disponibili.
Assicurarsi che sia la presa di corrente che il relativo dispositivo di sezionamento siano conformi alle norme di sicurezza e di facile
accessibilità.
2.2 Avvio
Collegare lo strumento alla presa di corrente e accendere mediante il tasto ON/OFF; il tasto si illumina.
NOTA: se lo strumento è stato trasportato in posizione orizzontale, attendere 24 ore prima di inserire la spina e metterlo in funzione. In
caso contrario, il sistema refrigerante viene danneggiato e questo danno non è coperto da garanzia.
