SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
The lightning flash with an arrowhead symbol, within
the equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user
to the presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage"
within the product's enclosure that may be of sufficient
magnitude to cause an electric shock.
The exclamation point within the equilateral triangle is
intended to alert the user to the presence of important
operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in
this owner manual.
PLACEMENT INFORMATION
• Donotusethisunitinplaceswhichareextremelyhot,cold,dusty,orhumid.

SAFETY INFORMATION
• When connecting or disconnecting the cord, grip the plug and not the AC cord itself. Pulling the cord may
damage it and create a hazard.
• Whenyouarenotgoingtousetheunitforalongperiodoftime,disconnecttheACcord.
• Themainsplugisusedasthedisconnectingdevice.Itshallremainreadilyoperableandshouldnotbeobstructed

CONDENSATION INFORMATION

MAINS PLUG
UNITS SUPPLIED WITH MOULDED MAINS PLUG
1.IfthemainsplugttedtotheACcordsuppliedisnotsuitableforyourmainsoutletitmaybenecessarytocut
itoff.Carefullydisposeoftheseveredplug.Undernocircumstancesmustitbeinsertedintoamainssocket,
otherwise a dangerous electric shock could result.
2.Ifthefuseinthettedmainsplugshouldfail,replaceitwithaBS1362approvedfuseratedat5ANeverusethe
plug without the fuse cover fitted.
WIRING A MAINS PLUG
Asthewiresinthemainsleadmaynotcorrespondwiththecolouredmarkingsidentifyingtheterminalsinyour
plugproceedasfollows:
• ThewirewhichiscolouredbluemustbeconnectedtotheterminalwhichismarkedwiththeletterNorcoloured
black.
• The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or
coloured red.
• NoconnectionistobemadetotheearthterminaloftheplugwhichismarkedwiththeletterEorcolouredgreen
or green and
yellow or marked by the safety earth symbol.
Thestandard(BS1363)mainsplugmustbettedwitha3AmpfuseapprovedtoBS1362.Ifanyotherplugor
connectionisuseda3Ampfusemustbettedintheplugoradaptororinthedistributionboard.

INSTALLATION
INSTALLING / REMOVING THE BASE STAND
WARNING:TheLCDDisplayisveryfragile,andmustbeprotectedatalltimeswhenremovingthebasestand.Be
surethatnohardorsharpobject,oranythingthatcouldscratchordamagetheLCDdisplay,comesintocontact
withit.DoNOTexertpressureonthefrontoftheunitatanytimebecausethescreencouldcrack.
1.Disconnectallcablesorcordsconnectedtotheunit.
2.Laytheunitdownonaatsurfacewiththebacksidefacingup.Pleasemakesuretoplaceasoftcushioned
material (such as a pillow or thick piece of foam) beneath the screen.
4.Toremovethebasestand,keeppressingthelocking
area of the base stand and pull downwards to release
the base stand.
3.Toinstallthebasestand,placethebasestandonthemountingslot,
push the stand till it locks.
MOUNTING ON THE WALL
ThisunitisVESA-compliant,andisdesigned to
be wall-mounted with aVESA-compliant 75mm
x75mmmountingkitdesignedforat-panelTVs
(soldseparately).Mountthisunitaccordingtothe
instructions included in the mounting kit.

1.Pressandliftthebackcoveruptoopenthebattery
compartment of the remote control.
2.Insert twoAAA sizebatteries. Make suretomatch
the (+) and (–) ends of the batteries with the (+) and
(–)endsindicatedinthebatterycompartment.Snap
the cover back into place.
GETTING STARTED
USING THE REMOTE CONTROL
• Point the remote control at the REMOTE SENSOR located on the
unit.
• Whenusingthisunitinaverybrightlylitarea,theinfraredREMOTE
CONTROLSENSORmaynotworkproperly.
• Therecommendedeffectivedistanceforusingtheremotecontrolis
about16feet(5metres).
INSERTING BATTERIES IN THE REMOTE CONTROL
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Whenthebatteriesbecomeweak,theoperatingdistanceoftheremotecontrolwillbegreatlyreducedandyouwill
need to replace the batteries.

CONNECTING A TV ANTENNA/CABLE/SATELLITE
To view television channels correctly, a signal must be received from one
ofthefollowingsources:
- Anindoororoutdooraerialantenna
- Acablesystem
- Asatellitesystem
Note:
For receiving over-the-airTV broadcasts, we recommend that you use
an external xed antenna. Should you require the use of a temporary
antenna, please ensure that you purchase an antenna with sufficient
ability to receive in weak signal areas. Only when you are in close
proximity to a transmitter will a temporary antenna reproduce a signal as
strongly as a fixed antenna.
CONNECTING A POWER CORD
• ConnecttheACpowercordintoawalloutlet.
• Pressthe /Ibuttonontheunitorremotecontroltoturnontheunit.
Note:
• BesuretheACpowercordisdisconnectedandthe
TVisswitchedoffbeforemakingconnections.
• Make sure that all the components are connected
correctly.
• When you are not going to use the unit for a long
period of time, disconnect the power cord.
• Theapparatusshouldnotbeexposedtodrippingor
splashingandthatnoobjectslledwithliquids,such
as vases, should be placed on apparatus.
• Themainsplugisusedasthedisconnectingdevice.
It should remain readily accessible and should
not be obstructed during use. To be completely
disconnected from the supply mains, the mains plug
of the apparatus should be disconnected from the mains socket outlet completely.
COMMON INTERFACE
TheunitisequippedwithaCIslot.TheCIslotallowsyoutoinsertaCAM(ConditionalAccessModule)withan
appropriate subscription card for some pay for view services.
It is required to subscribe to a pay channel company to view the pay channels of the Digital Terrestrial
broadcasting.
FullyinserttheCAM(ConditionalAccessModule)intotheCI(CommonInterface)slotonthebottomoftheunit
with its label side facing you.

Important notes:
• SwitchofftheTVandunplugfromtheACpowermainsbeforeinsertorremovetheCAM.
• TheCAMshouldbecorrectlyinserted,itisimpossibletoinsertfullyifreversed.TheCAMortheTV
terminal may be damaged if the CAM is forcefully inserted.
• Some CAMs may require setting up. Refer to the module instruction manual for details of the
settings.

TURNING THE UNIT ON

TURNING THE UNIT ON FOR THE FIRST TIME
Thersttimeyouturntheuniton,itwillgostraightintoAutoscanmode.Simplyfollowthescreenpromptsasbelow
to tune in the channels.
1.Usethe / button to select the screen menu language you prefer.

Enter the page number you want using the Numeric
buttons.
The top line of the text page will appear whilst the text
searches for your page.When the page is found the
number will remain in the top left hand corner of the
screen.
DOUBLE HEIGHT TEXT
IfyouhavedifcultyreadingthetextontheTVyoucan
double the height of the text.
PresstheSIZEbutton.Thetophalfofthepagewillbe
displayed in double height text.
Press the SIZE button again.The bottom half of the
page will be displayed in double height text.
PresstheSIZEbuttonagaintoreturntothefullpage.
PAGE STOP
If the page of text you have selected contains sub
pages, these sub pages will automatically be displayed
in order with a delay to allow you to read the page.
Tostopthemovetothenextsubpage,presstheHOLD

To continue moving through the sub pages, press the

TO REVEAL INFORMATION
Press the REVEAL button to reveal concealed

Atthebottomoftheteletextscreenisarowofsubject
headings in red, green, yellow and blue.
The remote control has a row of colour buttons
correspondingto therow ofcoloured subjectson the
screen.
Pressingoneofthecolourbuttonswilltakeyoudirectly
tothepagecorrespondingtothesubjectheading.
