Li-ion rechargeable battery
Models V20L0BP2B1, V20L0BP4B1 and V20L0BP5B1
Intended use
Veteran Tool 20V Max rechargeable batteries are compatible for use with all 20V Max Veteran Cordless Power Tools
as described in their respective user manuals. Using the product for purposes other than those described above may
damage the product. Improper use can cause hazards such as a short circuit, fire or electric shock. Read the
instructions carefully and store them in a safe place.
Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and observe in particular the safety instructions. If you
do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in these operating
instructions, we will assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property.
Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
a) General safety information
• The unauthorized modification of the product is prohibited. This product does not contain any components that
require maintenance. Maintenance and repair work must be done by a technician/specialist repair center.
• Do not allow people who have not read or understood these instructions to use the product.
• The product must not become damp or wet. Condensation may form when the product is brought from a cold room
into a warm one (e.g. during transportation). To avoid damage the product and risk of fire, let the product reach room
temperature before use. Do not place any containers with liquid in the immediate proximity of the product. Liquids may
seep into the casing and impair the electrical safety of the device. The rechargeable battery must not get damp or wet;
shield the rechargeable battery from cold, heat and sunlight. Failure to observe this can not only reduce the operating
life of the rechargeable battery, but can also result in damage, fire or explosion.
• Do not place or operate the product next to open flames or in the vicinity of combustible or inflammable liquids or
gases, air/gas mixtures or easily flammable solids. This may cause a fire or explosion!
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by jolts, impacts or falls.

• When handling the rechargeable battery, do not wear any metal or conductive materials such as jewelry (necklaces,
bracelets, rings, etc.). Keep the rechargeable battery away from metal objects (e.g. screws, nails, paper clips, etc.),
that could short-circuit the contacts on the rechargeable battery. A short-circuit of the battery contacts creates a risk of
fire and explosion!
• Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields, transmitter aerials or
HF generators. Doing so may influence the control electronics in the rechargeable battery.
• The rechargeable battery is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of children.
• The rechargeable battery should never be disassembled or thrown into fire. This may cause an explosion!
• Liquids may leak from the rechargeable battery in the event of damage, improper use or overcharging. • Liquids
leaking from batteries are chemically very aggressive. Objects or surfaces coming into contact with these liquids
could be severely damaged. Avoid direct contact with the skin; do not allow liquid to get in the eyes.
• In case of accidental contact, rinse the affected skin areas with a lot of clear, lukewarm water; do the same for eye
contact. In case of eye contact (or stronger irritation of the skin), consult a physician.
• Do not place any objects on the rechargeable battery.
• Use only the charger that is associated with the system for charging. Use of chargers other than those recommended
by Veteran Tools poses is a significant risk of fire or explosion of the batteries!
• Before charging the rechargeable battery, review the operating instructions of the charger.
• Do not charge the rechargeable battery while it is still hot (e.g. after operation in a power tool). Allow the battery to
cool down to room temperature before attempting to recharge it. The rechargeable battery gets warm during the
charging process. For this reason, it is necessary to ensure sufficient ventilation to prevent overheating.
• The rechargeable battery fits only in one direction into the charger or battery-operated power tools. Never use force
to insert the rechargeable battery.
• Never charge a damaged, leaking or deformed rechargeable battery. This may cause a fire or explosion! Discontinue
use of damaged batteries immediately and dispose of them in an environmentally-friendly manner.
• An unused li-ion rechargeable retains its energy normally for several months; however, total discharge will cause
permanent damage and result in its being unusable. To prevent damage, batteries should be charged periodically
even when not in use.
If the rechargeable battery is to be stored for a long period of time, please note:
- Remove the rechargeable battery from the power tool.
- Select a dry and cool place for storage.
- The rechargeable battery should not be fully charged for longer periods of storage; an ideal charge status is
approximately between 50% and 75%.
- Check the charge status on a regular basis and charge the rechargeable battery if necessary.
