XX038 Rev 300 S2000-UPM Parapet Mount Installation •
••
•3
Before beginning installation of the parapet mount, run all necessary cabling to the location selected for the
installation. Cables are routed up through the mount to the dome system.
1. Attach one wall bracket and the support bracket to the parapet surface using appropriate hardware for the
material of the parapet. Be sure that the wall bracket is against the parapet surface and the support
bracket is on top of the wall bracket, with the stop on the support bracket facing out from the parapet.
Refer to Figure 1.
2. Attach the second wall bracket to the parapet in the selected location, using appropriate hardware. The
suggested minimum distance between the wall brackets is 12.0 inches ( 30.5 cm).
3. Insert the cap supplied into the bottom opening of the parapet mount.
4. Place the parapet mount in the cutout contour of the wall brackets, align the wall bracket covers and
secure with the 5/16-18 x 1 inch screws, lock washers and flat washers supplied. To prevent the parapet
mount from spinning, secure it to the bottom wall bracket through the hole in the mount with the 5/16-24x3
inch bolt, lock washer, flat washer, and nut provided.
Note: Lubricating the Threads: Before joining the two sections of the parapet mount with the coupling
(optional), verify that either the male or female threads are coated with lubricant. If no lubricant is
present, spread a thin coating of lubricant such as Dow Corning Molykote on the threads to ease
assembly. Optionally, Teflon tape is supplied to secure a tight fit and ensure that the seal is watertight.
5. Some units may be shipped with the parapet mount in one piece. If that is the case, skip this step.
Attach the parapet neck to the mount with the coupling provided. Screw the coupling onto the parapet
mount first, making sure the holes for the set screws are on the end closest to the parapet neck. Screw
the neck in as tightly as possible while having it remain parallel with the mount.
6. Route the cables through the cap and up the mount to where the dome system is installed. Apply caulk or
RTV sealant around entrance opening in cap.
7. Install the reducer coupling/nipple assembly into the opening in the top of the Surveyor2000 housing.
Screw the housing directly onto the parapet mount. Use the Teflon tape to secure the fit and make it
watertight. Refer to the instruction manual for installation of the domed housing for specific installation
instructions.
8. To swivel the dome system out over the parapet, loosen the bolts just enough to allow movement and
position the unit. Tighten the bolts to secure the mount into position.
