When positioning the speakers
remember that the amplifier is inside
the right speaker, so try not to place it
too close to a wall or where it has
insufficient ventilation.
The way you position the speakers
depends on whether you want to play
games or listen to music.
If you are playing games, place the
speakers on either side of your
monitor, so that sound comes from the
same source as the image. To get the
best sound, try to keep the speakers
level with or in front of the monitor,
but not further back because then the
monitor may mask the stereo image.
Unlike normal hi-fi loudspeakers, the
Sirocco Spirit speakers are
magnetically shielded, so they will not
damage your monitor if they are
placed next to it.
If you want to listen to music,
experiment with moving the speakers
further away from the monitor to
achieve a wider field of sound.
Connecting&Using
Sets the volume.
Uses the dual shelving filter to
graduate the tone from rich bass to
clear treble.
You can plug your headphones in here.
This also mutes the speakers.
You can use the Variable Output socket
for connecting another set of active
speakers, an active subwoofer, or even
another Sirocco Spirit system.
Connect your audio source using the
RCA phono cable supplied. Input 1 is
for a PC or any standard line-level
source, and input 2 for a CD or any
source that may produce signals
slightly higher than line level. These
inputs aren’t switched, so you can play
two sources at the same time.
Make sure the power switch is off
before connecting Sirocco Spirit to the
mains, and that the volume is turned
down. Connect the power lead to the
power socket.

speaker using the DIN cable supplied,
as shown opposite.

magnetisch abgeschirmt. Ihr Monitor
kann durch die Nähe der Lautsprecher
nicht beschädigt werden.
Wenn Sie Musik hören wollen,
versuchen Sie die Lautsprecher weiter
voneinander entfernt aufzustellen. Sie
erzeugen so ein weiteres Stereofeld.
Verbinden Sie dann den rechten
Lautsprecher mit dem mitgelieferten
DIN Kabel an den linken Lautsprecher,

Troubleshooting
I can’t get any sound.
Make sure that the speakers and audio source are:
•switched on.
•connected properly.
•producing sound. Try listening through headphones to confirm
this. If not, make sure the volume is not set to zero.
If you have connected Sirocco Spirit to a PC sound card, make
sure the Windows volume control isn’t set to mute, by double-
clicking the speaker icon on your Windows taskbar.
The sound has too much/too little bass.
Try adjusting the Attitude control.
If your audio source has tone controls, set them to neutral.
Experiment with placing the subwoofer nearer to or further from
the walls or floor.
There is sound, but it is very quiet.
Make sure the Volume control isn’t set too low.
If your source has a volume control, make sure it isn’t set too low.
Make sure the audio source is properly connected.
If you have connected Sirocco Spirit to a PC sound card, make
sure the Windows volume control isn’t set too low, by double-
clicking the speaker icon on your Windows taskbar.
Audio sounds distorted.
If your source has a volume control, make sure it isn’t set
too high.
Make sure you are using a line-level audio source, and that the
signal isn’t being amplified before it connects to Sirocco Spirit.
If you have a CD connected to Input 1, connect it to Input 2
instead.
There is no sound from the left speaker.
Make sure you have connected the left speaker using the
supplied DIN cable, as shown opposite.
There is interference in the sound.
You may be listening to one source, but have another source
connected and switched on. Switch the other source off.

Repair program
Do not use Sirocco Spirit for sustained periods at high volume
with an input signal above line level (i.e. amplified before it
reaches the amplifier). Due to the high power capability of the
Sirocco Spirit amplifier, this may damage the loudspeaker cones.
Should this happen,VideoLogic offer a low cost return to base
repair program on evidence of proof of sale (for example, a
receipt). Contact VideoLogic for details.

Verstärkers nicht in Minimalstellung steht.
Wenn Ihre Audioquelle über eine Lautstärkeregelung verfügt,
stellen Sie sicher, dass diese nicht auf Minimalstellung steht.
Der Klang ist verzerrt.
Wenn Ihre Audioquelle über eine Lautstärkeregelung verfügt,
stellen Sie sicher, dass sie nicht in Maximalstellung steht.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass Ihr Audiosignal als Line-Signal und
nicht als verstärktes Signal am Verstärker anliegt.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass alle Kabel korrekt angeschlossen sind.
Es wird kein Sound vom linken
Lautsprecher wiedergegeben.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der linke Lautsprecher über das

nicht aktive Quelle aus.

Reparaturservice
Betreiben Sie die Sirocco Spirit nicht über einen längeren
Zeitraum unter Vollast mit einem nicht linearen Eingangssignal
(z.B. ein bereits vorverstärktes Signal). Aufgrund der hohen

Beschädigungen der Lautsprecher führen.

Safety note for UK users
When replacing the fuse in the supplied moulded mains plug,
always refit the integral fuse holder/cover. Always fit a 3 amp
fuse either in the plug or adapter, or at the distribution board.
If the supplied mains plug is not suitable for your mains socket,
remove its fuse and cut the plug off the lead. Destroy the severed
plug immediately to avoid the potential shock hazard if this were
plugged into a mains socket.
