Instructions d’utilisation
1- Régler la table à l’angle désiré (Fig.5 (1));
Set the angle of the table (Fig.5 (1))
2- Approcher la table le plus près possible de la courroie (Fig.5 (2));
Draw the table near the belt (Fig.5 (2));
3- Affuter les outils à arêtes vives en plaçant la pointe vers le haut (Fig.5 (3));
Sharpen sharp-edged tools using the tip at the top (Fig.5 (3)
4- Polir les outils à arêtes vives (avec une courroie de coton) en plaçant la pointe
vers le bas (Fig.6 (4));
Polish sharp-edged tools (with cotton belt) using the tip at the bottom (Fig.6 (4));
5- Utiliser la partie flottante de la courroie, au besoin, selon l’objet à affuter (Fig.7
(5)).
Use the floating section of the belt, accordingly with the type of object to
sharpen (Fig.7 (5)).

Entretien
Si la poulie menée tend à surchauffer: la démonter et huiler l’intérieur du coussinet de
bronze poreux. Laisser l’huile pénétrer pendant quelques minutes avant de remonter.
L’utilisation de graisse à la place de l’huile est inefficace.
If the idler wheel seems to overheat: dismount it and oil the oillite bushing. Wait a few
minutes before to let oil imbibe the bushing and then, re-assemble. It is ineffective to
use grease instead of oil.

1- Ajuster la lame dans le chariot, en se servant de la jauge;
To adjust the blade on the carriage, use the included gauge. Double-check at the
left and at the right to make sure that the blade is parallel to the carriage (Fig.
12);
2- Vérifier à droite et à gauche afin de s’assurer que la lame est parallèle au chariot
(Fig. 12);
Tighten the blade (Fig. 13)
3- Serrer la lame (Fig. 13);
Adjust the carriage slide to the proper angle (HSS: 40˚, carbide : 45˚), with the
help of a 7/16" wrench (Fig. 14(1)).
4- Ajuster la glissière du chariot à l’angle approprié (HSS : 40˚, carbure : 45˚), à
l’aide d’une clé 7/16" (Fig. 14(1)).

Affûter au centre en augmentant l’amplitude du mouvement à chaque passe pour
finalement affûter la lame sur toute sa longueur (Fig.15.), cette méthode permet
d’éviter d’arrondir la lame.
Start grinding from the middle of the blade and enlarge the amplitude at each pass to
finally sharp the blade completely (Fig. 15), this working method allows avoiding the
blade to curve.

Notes importantes :
Les coupes doivent être de 0.001” ou de 0.002”. Une avance de 3/16” du volant
donne une avance de 0.001” du chariot (Fig. 15);
Cuts should be around 0.001” or 0.002”. A 3/16” feed on the hand wheel gives
0.001” feed on the carriage (Fig.16);

Les ciseaux à bois biseautés ont un angle de 25 à 30˚;
Bevel edge chisels have a 25 to 30˚ angle;
Utiliser une courroie en ZIRCONIUM de grain 120 à 320. Pour obtenir une coupe
rasoir, utiliser une courroie de 16 microns (grain 1200).
Use a 120 –320 ZIRCONIA belt. To get a razor-sharp edge, use a 16 micron belt
(grit 1200).
Entretien / Maintenance
Essuyer régulièrement la glissière pour enlever la poussière.

Use a 220 or 320 grit belt;
Affûter en glissant le couteau sur la courroie abrasive de gauche à droite,
d’un mouvement régulier et en exerçant une légère pression.
Sharpen by sliding slowly the knife on the belt, move it evenly and with a
light pressure.

Fixation des ciseaux dans le mors
Clamping scissors
Placer les ciseaux dans la bride,
l’intérieur de la lame vers le haut. NE
PAS serrer trop fort les petits ciseaux,
vous pourriez casser la lame. La lame
doit dépasser la bride d’environ 1/8" à
3/16".
Place scissors in the clamp. The inside of the
blade must be facing you. DO NOT over tighten
little scissors, breaking blade could happen.
Blade should protrude 1/8" to 3/16" above
the clamp.

Instructions d’assemblage /
1- Percer un trou de ¼" de diamètre dans
le bâti (ancien modèle) tel qu’indiqué sur
la Figure 20;
2- Fixer ensuite l’ensemble du volant;
3- Installer l’affûteuse pour forets.
Assembly instructions
1- Drill a ¼" diameter hole in the frame
(old model) as indicated on Figure 20;
2- Bolt-on the hand-wheel assembly;
3- Install the drill grinding attachment.

Instructions d’ajustement
Note : Utiliser une courroie de grain 120.
1- Le support est illustré à l’angle normal
de 59˚ (Fig. 21);
2- Glisser le support de gauche à droite
pour utiliser la pleine largeur de la courroie;
3- Pivoter la base pour obtenir tout autre
angle que 59˚;
4- Placer le foret dans l’étau avec le bout
sorti d’environ 3/4" (Fig. 22).

Setup instructions
Note: Use a 120 grit belt.
1. The support is shown in its normal
59˚ angle (Fig. 21);
2. Slide support from left to right to use
full width of your abrasive belt;
3. Rotate base to obtain any angle other
than 59˚;
4. Place the drill-in the vise and keep 3/4"
of the tip out (Fig. 22).
Important : NE PAS trop serrer l’étau, ceci pourrait faire plier les petits forets et
produire des lèvres de longueur inégales.
Important note: DO NOT over tighten vise, because small drills could bend and result in
uneven lips.

Instructions d’utilisation
1- Balancer de haut en bas pour affûter
la première lèvre (Fig.25);
2- Pour affûter la seconde lèvre,
changer l’étau de côté et répéter le
mouvement;
3- Utiliser le volant pour approcher
le foret vers la courroie abrasive.
Operating instructions
1. Swing up and down to grind the first
lip (Fig. 25);
2. To grind the second lip, flip over vise
and repeat movement;
3. Use the hand wheel to feed drill
toward abrasive belt.

Les ciseaux biseautés possèdent un angle de 25 à 30 degrés. L’angle est de 25˚
quand la table est horizontale. Lever la table pour obtenir un angle plus grand
que 25˚;
Utiliser une courroie en ZIRCONIUM bleu de grain 120 à 320;
Pour une coupe rasoir, utiliser une courroie TRIZACT A16;
Garder la table propre.
Bevel edge chisels have a 25 to 30 degrees angle;
Angle is set at 25˚ when table is in horizontal position;
Tilt table to increase angle more than 25˚;
Use a 120-320 blue ZIRCONIA blet. To get a razor sharp edge, use a TRIZACT 16
micron belt;
Keep table clean of particles.

USE DUST MASK IF GRINDING OPERATION IS DUSTY;
TIE YOUR HAIR (Long hair can get caught in moving parts);
WEAR PROPER CLOTHING (No loose clothes, gloves, neckties or jewelry that
could get caught in moving parts.);
REMOVE ALL ADJUSTMENTS WRENCHES;
READ THE OWNER’S MANUAL CAREFULLY.
