Working on the system
&Isolate the system from the power
supply and check that it is no longer
'live', e.g. by removing a separate
fuse or by means of a mains isola-
tor.
&Safeguard the system against
unauthorised reconnection.
&When using gas as fuel, also close
the main gas shut‐off valve and
safeguard against unauthorised
reopening.

Function
The Vitotrol 100 UTD-RF controls the
room temperature by starting and
stopping, for example a heating circuit
pump, via the wireless receiver.
Installation location
Clock thermostat
&In the main living room on an inter-
nal wall opposite radiators.
&Approx. 1.5 m from the floor.
&Not near windows and doors.
&Not inside shelves or in recesses.
&Not near heat sources (radiators,
direct sunlight, fireplace, TV set
etc.).
&Wireless reception (good communi-
cation with the wireless receiver)
must be possible (see page 11).
Do not install further controllers in this
room. Open any thermostatic radiator
valves fully.
Wireless receiver
&Immediately by the component to be
switched (heat source, heating cir-
cuit pump).
&A power supply must be available.
&Wireless reception must be possible
(see page 11).
&(Subject to the material used to con-
struct the walls and ceilings, the
range may be 10 to 30 m).
&Note
Conducting metallic materials have
a strong negative effect on recep-
tion.

Power is supplied by batteries (see chapter "Specification").
Always check reception prior to fitting to the wall (see page 11).
Wall mounting
Alternatively, the clock thermostat can
also be positioned as freestanding
unit with the plinth supplied.

Leave terminal 3 in the wireless recei-
ver free.

cables separately. Bundle with
cable ties.

1. Open the battery compartment.
2. Remove the paper strip.
Press the following keys:

Several clock thermostats and the wireless receiver can be installed in a single
building. Both are matched up to each other in the factory. If several clock ther-
mostats are fitted with the wireless receiver in a single building complex, never
swap the respective clock thermostats and wireless receiver, as each clock
thermostat can only communicate with the respectively allocated wireless recei-
ver.
Testing the strength of reception
At the clock thermostat, turn the rotary
selector to "MENU".
Operating instructions
Press the following keys:
1. x/wuntil "SERVICE" is dis-
played.
2. dto confirm.
3. x/wuntil "Test-HF" is dis-
played.
4. dto confirm.
A regular ON/OFF signal
is transmitted for approx.
15 min.
The LEDs illuminate in 5 s
cycles (see the following
table).

1. Press "C1" at the wireless receiver
(see diagram on page 11)
The LED below "C1" indicates the
switching state:
LED ON: Output "ON"
LED OFF: Output "OFF"
2. Terminate the function:
Press "C1" at the wireless receiver.

automatic, if the switching output is
closed via the setting of the clock
thermostat.
