1.1 Starting Mobile Vstation
This section will cover opening the Mobile Vstation terminal. The program can be
accessed either by the Quick Launch buttons or the touch interface.
 From the handheld device with Mobile Vstation (MVstation) installed, do the
following:
Press the bottom right Quick Launch
button to open MVstation

Alternatively, MVstation can be opened using the touch interface
 From the handheld device with Mobile Vstation (MVstation) installed, go to the
Desktop
1. Click on the “Start” icon. A drop down
list of programs will be displayed.
2. Click on the “File Explorer” menu
item. The File Explorer screen will be
displayed.
3. Double-click on the “mvstation” menu
item. The MVstation login screen will
be displayed.

1.2 Login to Mobile Vstation
Once MVstation has been started it will prompt for login
1. Click the login option to be used:
a. Fingerprint: Click “Fingerprint” and
place finger on unit biometric reader
for scanning.
b. Barcode: Click “Barcode” and scan
card with barcode card set as login.
 NOTE: If no action is taken within 45 seconds
the program will close.
2. With a successful login the main screen will
be displayed. You are now ready to begin
operations.

1.3 Scanning a Badge
The MVstation has a built in bar code scanner. Use it to scan the bar code on an access card
to determine if the card holder is allowed access.
From the MVstation main screen:
1. Click the “Start Scan” section on the screen. A
message will show that the scanner is ready to read
the card. The laser will be active at the top of the
handheld device.
2. Pass the card about 6 to 8
inches from the scanner
head with the light on the
bar code.

3. If the read is not successful
a message box will appear
advising of the problem. If
successful the screen will
populate with the Card
Holder’s data.
Access Granted.
Name fields will also
have green
background.
Access Denied.
Name fields will also
have red background.
Visitor, Access
Granted.
Name fields will also
have green
background.
Visitor, Access Denied.
Name fields will also
have red background.
4. This read is now finished. If
ready for another read,
click on the “Start Scan”
icon.

1.4 Search Card Holder Database
There will be situations where it is necessary to manually retrieve information from the Card
Holder Database to be displayed.
From the MVstation main screen:
1. Use the stylus and click on the “Search DB” icon. A
search screen will be displayed.
2. Use the stylus and click in the “Last Name”
field. An insertion cursor will be displayed.
3. Use the stylus and click on the “Keyboard”
icon. The soft keyboard will be shown.
4. Use the stylus and click on the soft keyboard
for the last name to search for. As this field is
Case Sensitive, it may be necessary to use
the “Shift” key icon for upper case letters.

5. Using the stylus, click on the “Search” button.
If a match is found, it will be listed on the
Network Database List.
 NOTE: The search results display is limited to the
first 18 returns. If more than 18 results are found,
only the first 18 will be available to be seen.
6. Use the stylus and click on the name in the
Network Database List to display. The main
screen will be populated with the selected
Card Holder’s information.

7. If ready for another read, click on the “Start
Scan” icon. If ready to search for another card
holder in the database, click on the “Search
DB” icon.
1.5 Display Signature
With a Card Holder’s information on the main screen, you can display the card holder’s
signature on file from the Card Holder Database.
With Card Holder information on the screen:
1. Use the stylus to click on the “Signature” icon.
2. A message box will display while the system
searches for the information. Wait until the
signature loads on the screen.
3. The Signature box will be displayed. Click on the
“Close” button when ready to return to the main
screen.

1.6 More Information
With Card Holder information on the
screen, clicking on the “More Info” icon
will display up to five fields of
information from the Card Holder
Database.With Card Holder information
on the screen:
1. Use the stylus to click on the
“More Info” icon.
2. Click on the “Close”
button to close the
window and return to
the main screen.
1.7 Logging Off
From the main screen, use the stylus and click on the “Log Off” icon.
