TheSOLOAirliner,hereinafterreferredtoas“SOLO”,hasbeentechnologicallydevelopedtobefully
plug&Fly.ItconnectseasilytoanycomputerrunningtheMicrosoftFlightSimulator2004(9)orFSX(10)
hereinafterreferredtoas“MFS”orPrepar3Dhereinafterreferredtoas“P3D”.Evenso,we’llgiveyoua
seriesofstepstofollowtoinstallyourpanel.
PlacethepanelonthetablewhereitistobeusedorontheSOLOsupport;inthelattercase,
followitsinstructionmanual.
Connectallthesocketpowercablesfrombackpaneltothemultiplepowersocket(2).
Connectthemultiplepowersocket(2)toa115‐230VACoutlet.
Connectoneendofthenetworkcable(3)totheLANconnectoroftheMini‐computer.
Connecttheotherendofthenetworkcable(3)tothecomputer'sMFS/P3D.Youhavetwo
options,directorthroughtheLANnetwork.

Copythe"VFConnect3.exe"filefromtheMemoryStickintheMFS/P3Ddesktopcomputer.
IfyoualreadyhavetheFSUIPCincomputerMFS/P3Dskipthisstep.Otherwise,youmusthave
alleastthefreeversioninstalled.FromtheMemoryStickexecutethe"InstallFSUIPC4.exe"for
FSX/P3Dor"InstallFSUIPC.exe"forFS2004.Duringtheinstallationwillappeararegistration
window,youmusttoignoretheregistrationpushing"NotNow".RestartMFS/P3Dafterthe
installation.
ACTIVATINGTHESOLO:
Pressthepush‐buttontostartthe"Windows"operatingsystemofthemini‐computerfrom
theSOLO.
Atthistime,the"Windows"operatingsystemandallprogramsfoundintheSOLOcomputer
willstartautomatically.(ItisveryimportantthatSOLOnotbedisconnectedor"Windows"
stoppedwhiletheprogramsareloading.Doingsomaycauseproblemswithbootinginthe
future).
TheSOLOisreadytooperateafterabout60seconds,youmusttoseethe“SELECTPANELTYPESCREEN”
SeeChapter3forconnectingtheSOLOwithyourcomputer’sMFS/P3D.
DEACTIVATINGTHESOLO:
Pressthepush‐buttonofthemini‐computertostopthe"Windows",waitforWindowsto
stoptotally.
Once"Window"hastotallystopped,youcanunplugtheSOLO

TheSOLOincorporatesamini‐computeratthebackthatistobeconnectedtotheMFS/P3Dcomputer
usingthepreviouslymentionedLANcable3.
ItisimportanttonotethatinnocaseshouldyouaccessormanagetheSOLOmini‐computer.
ActivatetheSOLOlikeisindicatedinchapter2.
StartuptheMFS/P3Dsoftware.
ToestablishtheconnectionbetweentheMFS/P3DcomputerandtheSOLOyoumustto
executethefile"VFConnect3.exe"fromtheMFS/P3Ddesktopcomputer(seechapter2).
IfyouhavetheWindowsFireWallactivated,awarningpermissiontocommunicatewith
networksappears,youmusttoclick"AllowAccess".
Oncetheconnectionisestablished,youshouldseeanimageliketheright:
Atthetop“ThisComputer”indicatesifthesoftwareFlightSimulator2004/Xisdetected.Only
"Connected"willappearwhenyouhaveinitiatedMFS/P3D.
Atthebellow“ClientConnectionStatus”indicatestheconnectionwiththeSOLO.

4.SELECTIONOFPANELTYPE(ACCORDINGTOPLANE)
Thisinstrumentpanelisdesignedtooperateanddisplayinstrumentsforbothsingle‐engineandtwin‐
engineplanes,andforthethreeenginetypes:PISTON,TURBOFANandTURBOPROP.Inthenextpicture
youcanseethatsomeaircraftalreadyhavetheirowncustompanelasC‐172,Mooney,B‐58,etc...but
therearecustomizablepanelscalled"GENERIC"forotheraircraft.
TheplanesbestsuitedtothepanelarejusttheplanesthatMFS/P3Dincorporatesbydefault.
SomeplanesfromCARENADOhadbeentested,andthathaveshowngoodresults.
Aboveyoucanseethepanelhas4typesof"GENERIC",oneachofthemyoucanchoosethefullscaleof
thespeedometer"AirspeedRange"andtypeofinstrumentindicationofdirection"Directional
Indicator".

Toselectthepanelaccordingtheplaneyouwanttofly,youhavetodotwotasks:
Selecttheindicatorspanel.
Selectthelabelsfortheswitchesandrotariesofthepanel.
Selecttheindicatorspanel:
Thepanelincorporatesa24”touch‐screen,soyoumusttomanageitwithyourfinger.Followthese
steps:
PressonthelabelthatcorrespondtotheplaneyouwanttoflyinMFS/P3D,(ifthereisn’ta
customizedlabelforthatplane,selectaGENERIClabelaccordingtotheenginetypeoftheplane
(e.g.iftheplaneselectedonMFS/P3Dis“BeechcraftKingAirA350youmustselecttheGENERIC
“TURBOPROP‐twinengineinthepanel”):
IfyouhavechosenaGENERICpanel,automaticallyanew“GenericPanelOPTIONS”willopen
wereyoucanselectyourpreferences:
o“AirspeedRange”
o“Directionalindicator”.
Pushonabovecenteredlabel“StartSelectedPanel”nowhighlightedinGreen.
Automaticallythepanelwillshowthegaugesandindicators.

Selectthelabelsfortheswitchesandrotariesofthepanel:
AccordingtheSOLOisamultifunctionpanel,alotofswitcheschangeitsfunctiondependingifthe
gauges&indicatorspanelselectedisforpiston,turbo‐prop,orturbo‐fan.Thepanelincorporatessome
magneticlabelsthatyoumusttoplaceinthesuitablezonetochangethedesignationofeachswitchand
rotary.Thedefaultdesignationoftheswitchesandrotaries(withoutmagneticlabels)isforpiston
engines.

Firstofall,tellthattorunthepanelBoeing737youmusttoinstalltheserverB‐737"aeroServer737"in
theMFS/P3Dcomputer.Tobuythatserverlicense,enterinthefollowinglinkandfollowthestepsfor
theinstallation.

Evenso,wearegoingtoprovideminimalinformationforyoutogenerateaflightplanthroughtheFMC‐
CDUandflyitthroughtheautopilot.
Thescreenshowingtheindicators,autopilot,EFISselectorandCDUisatouch‐screensoyoucanpress
anybuttonorkeywithyourfinger,butallnumericalvaluesareadjustedwithsomerealrotaryhandlein
thepanel.Onthenextpageyouwillseearelationshipbetweentherotaryhandleandvaluesthatfit.
Alsonotethatthemostbasicfunctionsofthebuttonsontheautopilotcanbeactivatedfromthe
Radiostack,onthenextpageyouwillseealinkbetweenRadiostackbuttonsandbuttonsonthe
autopilot.
¡IMPORTANT!BeforeselectingtheB737panelyoumustalreadyhavetheB‐737selectedintheMFS/
P3D,shouldalsohavetheflightloadedwiththeplaneontheground,nottodososomeindicatorswill
notworkcorrectly.

Itisanapplicationwithgeneralandcommercial
aviationradioequipment,forlearninginflight
schoolsorfortheuseofsimulatorsandwhichis
updatedwithvaluessentbyMFS/P3D®(hereafter
referredtoasMFS/P3D).Itincorporatessixvirtually
simulatedBendix®/Kingbrandinstruments.
Theideaisthattheseinstrumentsarethesameas
therealones,withfullfunctionsorascloseas
possible,butduetolimitationsofFS,theyarenot
completelyoperable.
ThemajorityoftheinstrumentsworkdirectlywithMFS/P3D.However,wemustpointoutthatsome
equipmentincludesmorefeaturesordisplayinformationorthatsomeinstrumentsoperate
independentlyintheSOLO.
