GETTING STARTED
CONNECTING THE SPEAKERS
Connect the right-spe ker c ble (47) to the right-spe ker j ck (45) on the re r p nel of the system.
Connect the left-spe ker c ble (48) to the left-spe ker j ck (46) on the re r p nel of the system.
The spe kers c n be mounted on the w ll using the mounting holes loc ted on the re r p nels of the
right nd left spe kers (49,50).
HOW TO PUT BATTERIES IN THE REMOTE CONTROL
Insert ÀÀÀ b tteries in the Remote Control; m tch the pol rity on the b tteries with the corresponding
m rkings in the b ttery comp rtment.
AM ANTENNA
An AM ntenn is loc ted inside the unit. Rot te the unit so s to obt in the best reception of AM r dio
st tions.
FM ANTENNA
Extend the ntenn to its full length to obt in the best reception of FM r dio st tions.
STEREOPHONE JACK
For priv te listening , connect stereophones (not provided) to the corresponding j ck (11). Adjust the
required volume level using the volume controls. After connecting the stereo phones, the sound from
spe kers switches off utom tic lly.
TURNING THE SYSTEM ON AND OFF
Press the POWER ON button (1) to turn the system on nd the Power indic tor (8) will light up.
Press the POWER ON button (1) g in nd the system will turn off.
BASS EXTENSION SYSTEM XBS
Press the On/Off b ss extension button XBS (12) to enrich the sound.
VOLUME
To djust the required volume level , press nd hold VOLUME+ (13) or VOLUME- (14) control, or
respectively R13 or R15 on the Remote Control.
ANTI-SHOCK FUNCTION
The pl yb ck interruption protection c n be ctiv ted in CD/MP3 mode only. The m ximum period of
the function is 20 seconds.
CD PLAYBACK
Using the Function switch (CD/CASSETTE/RADIO) (2) select CD pl yb ck mode. After th t CD will turn
on, nd " " will blink on the displ y s shown in FIG. 1.

Should there be no disc in the CD comp rtment, the " " indic tion lights up on the LCD displ y, s
shown in fig. 2.

Press CD comp rtment door (23) nd the door will open. Insert disc in the CD comp rtment nd
close the door. LCD displ y will show the "CD" indic tion nd the tot l number of tr cks on the disc
(Fig.3).

LISTENING TO CD MP3 DISCS
• To st rt pl ying CD/MP3 discs press PLAY/PAUSE button (19) once.
• When the first tr ck st rts pl ying, " " symbol lights up on the displ y.
• In the pl yb ck mode the displ y shows the sequence number of the tr ck being pl yed.
• In CD mode the equ lizer turns on.
SKIPPING BACK TO THE PREVIOUS TRACK
• Press the DN button (20) to return to the previous tr ck.
• E ch pressing of the button will c use skipping b ck.
SKIPPING BACK TO 10 PREVIOUS TRACKS
• Press the DN/10 button (17) to return to 10 tr cks.
• E ch pressing of the button will c use skipping b ck.
REPEATING ONE TRACK WHILE PLAYING THE DISC
• While pl ying the disc, press the REPEAT button (22) once to repl y current tr ck. The "REP" indic -
tion will blink on the displ y.
• The selected tr ck will be pl yed until You press the STOP button (15)
• You m y lso press the REPEAT button to c ncel the repe t mode.
REPEATING ALL TRACKS WHILE PLAYING THE DISC
• While pl ying the disc, press the REPEAT button (22) twice. The "REP" indic tion will light up on the
displ y.
PLAYBACK PROGRAMMING
YOU CANNOT PROGRAME A TRACK LIST IN PLAYBACK MODE. PRESS THE STOP BUTTON (15) AND
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW:
• Press the EQ /PROG button (18). LCD displ y will show PROG indic tion nd 000 symbol, s shown
on Fig. 4.

• Press the UP (20) nd DOWN (21) buttons to select the required tr cks.
• Press the EQ /PROG button (18) to s ve the selected tr cks. The displ y will show the sequence
numbers of the selected tr cks (Fig. 4).

• Repe t the bove steps to progr m the list of ll the required tr cks (20 tr cks m ximum).
• When ll 20 tr cks re progr mmed, LCD displ y will show 20. From th t time, continuing the pro-
gr mming procedure will result in modific tion of the previous ly s ved tr ck list.
• Once you h ve finished tr ck list progr mming, press the PLAY/PAUSE button (19) to pl y the pro-
gr mmed tr cks.
• To cle r the progr m memory press the STOP button (15).
REPLAYING THE PROGRAMMED TRACKS
• To repl y one tr ck, repe t the steps described in section "Repe ting one tr ck while pl ying the
disc".
• To repl y ll tr cks, repe t the steps described in section "Repe ting ll tr cks while pl ying the
disc".
LISTENING TO THE RADIO
• Turn on the system by pressing the POWER ON button (1). Using the Function switch (CD/CAS-
SETTE/RADIO) (2) select RADIO pl yb ck mode. Using the B nd switch (3) select the required recep-
tion mode - FM, FM STEREO or AM. Adjust the required volume level pressing the VOLUME+ (13) nd
VOLUME- (14) buttons.
• Using the Tuning knob (4), tune in the required r dio st tion. R dio tuning sc le (6) will show the fre-
quency of the r dio st tion being tuned in.
• Press the POWER ON button (1) to stop listening.
LISTENING TO CASSETTES
• Turn on the system by pressing the POWER ON button (1). Turn the Function switch
CD/TAPE/RADIO (2) into TAPE pl yb ck mode.
• Press the CASSETTE STOP/EJECT key (25) nd open the C ssette comp rtment (3).
• Insert c ssette into the C ssette comp rtment (3) nd close the comp rtment.
• Press the CASSETTE PLAY key (28) to st rt pl ying the c ssette.
• Press the CASSETTE FAST FORWARD key (26) to wind the t pe forw rd or CASSETTE FAST
REWIND key (27) to wind the t pe b ck.
• Press the POWER ON button (1) to stop listening.
RECORDING FROM CD TO TAPE
With the built-in ALC circuit, the optimum recording qu lity is utom tic lly djusted.
• Turn on the system by pressing the POWER ON button (1). Turn the Function switch
CD/TAPE/RADIO (2) into CD pl yb ck mode.
• By pressing the CASSETTE STOP/EJECT key (25) open the C ssette comp rtment (3).
• Press the CASSETTE STOP/EJECT key (25), open the C ssette comp rtment (3) nd press the
CASSETTE PAUSE key.

• Press the CASSETTE RECORD (29) nd CASSETTE PLAY (28) keys simult neously to prep re the
unit for recording.
• Press the CD DOOR OPEN button (23) nd insert CD in the comp rtment.
• Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (19) to st rt pl ying CD.
• Press the CASSETTE PAUSE (24) key to st rt recording.
• To m ke p use during the recording press the CASSETTE/PAUSE key (24) g in.
• Once you h ve finished, press the CASSETTE STOP/EJECT button (25) to stop the recording nd
press the STOP button (15) to stop pl ying the CD.
RECORDING FROM RADIO TO TAPE
With the built-in ALC circuit, the optimum recording qu lity is utom tic lly djusted.

CD/TAPE/RADIO (2) into RADIO pl yb ck mode. Using the B nd switch (3) select the required recep-

• By pressing the CASSETTE STOP/EJECT key (25) open the C ssette comp rtment (3).
• Press the CASSETTE STOP/EJECT key (25), open the C ssette comp rtment (3) nd press the
CASSETTE PAUSE key.
• Press the CASSETTE RECORD (29) nd CASSETTE PLAY (28) keys simult neously to prep re the
unit for recording.
• Using the Tuning knob (4) select the required r dio st tion.
• Press the CASSETTE PAUSE (24) key to st rt recording.
• To m ke p use during the recording press the CASSETTE/PAUSE key (24) g in.
• Once you h ve finished, press the CASSETTE STOP/EJECT button (25) to stop the recording.
RECORDING FROM MICROPHONE TO TAPE
• Turn on the system by pressing the POWER ON button (1). Turn the Function switch
CD/TAPE/RADIO (2) into TAPE pl yb ck mode.
• Connect the microphone (not provided) to the Microphone j ck (10).
• Press the CASSETTE RECORD (29) nd CASSETTE PLAY (28) keys simult neously to st rt the
recording from the microphone to t pe.
• Once you h ve finished, press the CASSETTE STOP/EJECT button (25) to stop the recording.

• If the body of the unit becomes dusty, wipe it with soft cloth. Remove st ins with slightly d mp,
