Thank you for purchasing the Xs-Drive.
Before using the Xs-Drive, you will have to
1 Charge the battery
2 Install Xs-Drive Windows USB driver
( if you are a Windows 98 user)
3 Make sure the HDD has already partition or format as
FAT system.(Refer to 2-4 ,2-5 Format Hard Disk under
Windows 2000/ XP)
4 Keep Xs-Drive plugged into the AC adapter/charge
while connected to your computer.
5. Check www.vosonic.com to download the update
firmware that we offer new features .

functionality at least equal to that of the product being replaced.
Vosonic is not responsible for any data stored on returned products, please backup
any data prior to shipping the unit.
The limited warranty for accessories (included battery ) is only valid for 6 months from
the date of purchasing..

Top panel
keypad Function Description
Enter : takes you to execute the current selection
Rotate: This function will effect under Photo Playback Mode.

2. Using the X’s-drive
2-1. Starting up

1) Charge the batteries
Before using for the first time, charge the batteries for a full 4 hours.
2) Power On /Off
Long press the Power button for 2 seconds.
The green light will go on and the operating system will boot up.
To shut off the unit, long press the power button for 2 seconds.

Browse your CD-ROM drive and run "setup.exe "to begin driver installation. Press "Next"
and follow the installation instructions.

2-2 . USB CONNECTION :
When VP6230 begins connecting to the computer, the " USB Mode" message will appear in the bottom
of the screen. During file transfer in the PC mode
DO NOT :
1. Plug out the USB cable
2. Remove memory card(s) from the card slot,
otherwise, there may be a chance of lost or corrupt data.
Note: 1) Keep it plugged into the AC adapter/charge while connected to your computer.
2) To safely disconnect the VP6230 from computer, click on the system tray
remove icon and wait until you get a message saying
that you can safely unplug the device before disconnecting the USB cable.
2- 3. Downloading or Editing the files on PC:
Power on the X’s- Drive
Connect the X's-Drive and PC with the provided USB cable
Double Click the " My computer" icon , the operating system will
display 4 icons identifying the media types correspondingly.
You can then read ,write,copy ,delete and remove data on the PC.
Macintosh MacOS 9.x
Follow the installation instructions to being installing drives.

Insert your driver Installation into your CD-ROM drive and double click on "My computer"
Browse your CD-ROM drive to "MacOS Installer".

2-4 Format Hard Disk under Win 2K/ Win XP
Due to Windows 2000 / Windows XP can not support Format Disk for 30G above
Hard Drive. Please find the Application Program on the included CD-ROM.
This program is a “ FDisk AP” for Format Application Program .
It has a simple interface which you can use it to format the Hard Disk .
Note : If you are using the new Hard Disk, please remember to
Initialize the HDD first .
Learn more about your partitioning and formatting options , please link to
http://support.microsoft.com
Use the power adapter to avoid the device shuts off due to low power .
Connect the device and PC with the provided USB cable
Find the Application Program on the included CD-ROM.
Follow then instructions to being formatting drives.

2-5 Format Hard Disk without PC
(1). Scroll to [ OPTIONS ] and press [ OK ] button
(2). Scroll down to [ Format Hard Disk ] option and press [Ok] button , then
the format function will be performed.
Attention: If the hard disk already contain data, please backup the data first , because
when you partition and format a hard disk, all the data on that partition is permanently
deleted.
3. Settings for your X’s-Drive
3-1.To enter your setup screen , click “ OPTIONS “ then “ SYSTEM “
1) Language :
This version can be set to English , Japanese ,Korean, Spanish,
German, French, Italian, Portuguese ,Chinese, Thai.
2) Auto shutdown Timer:
Use “ “ and “ ” to adjust the setting, this setting can be changed from
one to 30 minutes .
Scroll down to decrease time value , scroll up to increase time value.

3)Copy Speed (HD):
Use “ “ and “ ” to adjust the setting , this setting can be changed from
NORMAL ,HIGH to ULTRA .
Note: For the Fujitsu HDD users, it is recommend not to set the copy speed at High to
avoid any shut down.
4)Copy Speed (CF):
Use “ “ and “ ” to adjust the setting , this setting can be changed from
NORMAL ,HIGH to ULTRA .
Note: For the Fujitsu HDD users, it is recommend not to set the copy speed at High to
avoid any shut down.
5) Format Hard Disk:
This allow you format the Hard Disk directly from the device, after formatting the HDD,
the system will create the folders : Data, Media, System, and BACKUP
on the first level of your internal storage of Hard disk .
To set up your Screen Display, click [OPTIONS ]and high-light the [ DISPLAY] by
using [ menu ] button.
1) File Viewer Mode:
Use “ “ and ” ”,you can change the file viewer mode at
graphic icons or lists view.
2) Screen Save Idle Timer:
There is an auto screen-off timer to save battery power, you can change

3 ) LCD Backlight :

Scroll down to decrease setting value, scroll up to increase setting value.
4) TV Standward :
- NTSC (Taiwan ,US, Japan , etc )
- PAL (European countries )
You can change this setting by pressing “ ” and “ ”.
3-2. Your Media files
To quick playing or search the MPEG , MP3 and JPEG files,
you must first create the folders : MUSIC, PHOTO, MOVIE, and BACKUP
on the first level of your internal storage of Hard disk .
Then import the files to the folders accordingly, then you can enter the path of Photo,’
Music , Movie , Backup on the main page.

Icon View / List View
Copy
Use the OK button to high-light the file you want to copy.
Press “ MENU “ to select “ COPY “mode, then press “ OK ” button
The message “ copied to to clipboard “ will pop on the screen , then press “OK”
button.
Use the ok button to find the folder or Path you want to paste.
Press “ MENU “ to select “Paste “mode, then press “ ok” button
It will ask “ Paste from clipboard ?” Use the “ok” button to reply Yes or No.
Click “ Yes” , the copy fucntion will be performed
Icon View : The screen will display thumbnail of all
the JPEG pictures in group of 8.
List View : The screen will display all the
JPEG

Delete
Use the Ok button to find the file you want to delete.
Press “ MENU “ to select “ Delete “mode, then press “ Ok” button
It will ask “Delete File ? “ , Use the “Ok” button to reply Yes or No..
Other Functions
Exif info: Click the specific JPG file you want to view and press “ Menu”
Button to show file information such as shutter speed,
flash condition, focal length, and other image information.
Slide Show : Click the specific JPG file you want to view and press “ Menu”
Button.
Set as Background : Click the specific JPG file you want and press “ Menu”
button to find “Set as Background” mode , then press “ Ok “ button.
ZOOM IN / OUT DISPLAY
You can use " " button to zoom in the picture and use " " button to
scroll down again to zoom out .
Use the “ Ok “ button to pan right or left , up and down .
ROTATE DISPLAY
You can press "Ok " button to to rotate the picture in un-clockwise direction.

Scroll to the MUSIC path, when you finish the selection, just press " Ok " button.
Press “ MENU “ to select the play modes .As you finish the selection ,
just press " Ok " button
5. Video Play Mode
Push up the “ Ok “ button to fast forward the videos
Hold and push “Ok” button to the left to rewind and find the specific part of movie
you want to play.
Hold and push “Ok” button to the right to fast forward and find the specific part of
movie
you want to play.
To pause or start/resume playback, press “OK “button.
Playlist :
Playlist is a list of songs that the VP6230 will automatically play one after the other.
To create Playlist, you can simply copy , delete , paste the files to the folder
you want.
Repeat On /OFF:
Press “ MENU “ button to select the Repeat Mode.
Press “ Ok “button to set the “Repeat ON or OFF
6. Music Play Mode

Playlist
Playlist is a list of songs that the VP6230 will automatically play one after the other.
To create Playlists, you can simply copy , delete , paste the files to the folder
you want.
Repeat Single ON /OFF
Press “ MENU “ button to select the Repeat Mode.
Press “ Ok “button to set the “Repeat ON or OFF
Shuffle ON /OFF
To shuffle the music in a random order, you can scroll to “ Shuffle “ , then
Press “OK “ button.
Equalizer
There are 6 EQ modes ( Normal, Bass, Classic, Dance, Live, Rock , Treble ) for your
selection.
KeyLock
To lock all the VP6230 buttons from being accidentally pressed,
scroll to “ KeyLock “mode and press “Ok “ button.
Press “ MENU “and “ESC “ buttons to effect the buttons again.
Play in Background
This allows you to switch to other modes , like to see the photos simultaneously when the music is
playing.
Other funcations
Hold and push the “Ok “ button to the left to rewind and find the specific part of music you want to play.
Hold and push the “Ok “ button to the right to fast forward and find the specific part of music you want to
play.
Enqueue : You can use it to add the songs to the current playlist.
1. After hiding the jukebox ( Play in background )
2. High –light a music file you want, press menu to select the "enqueue" and press ok button ,
then the song will be added to the current playlist.

7.Recording:
- You can use the “Record” function anytime . However,
you are not able to record voice streams and listen to music at the same
time.
- Adjusting the volume to the right values is very important for usable recordings,
it is better to choose a middle-way so the signal is not too loud and gets clipped but not
too silent to get lost in the noise of the hardware.
- To get a better recording performance, it is recommended to use the 2.5” HDD with
Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) motor which provides the quiet operation

2. Use the [ Ok ] button to select the Input options .
3. Scroll up and down to set the REC INPUT at [ MIC IN ]
4. Scroll to [ ●] and press [ Ok] button, the recording from built-in microphone
Will be performed.
5. Scroll to [ ] and press [ Ok ] button again to stop the recording.
Recording from Line-in
You can use a line –in cord to record music directly from an audio device
( such as CD player)
1. . Scroll to [AudioRec ] and press [Ok ]button
2. Press [ MENU ] button and scroll to [REC INPUT ]
3. Scroll up and down to set the REC INPUT at [ LINE IN ]
4. Scroll to [ ●] and press [ Ok] button, the recording from built-in microphone
Will be performed.
5. Scroll to [ ] and press [ Ok ] button again to stop the recording.
Finding your recorded files
1. Scroll to the path of [HDD] and press [Ok ]button
2. Scroll to Media folder and press [ OK ] button to search the Voice folder
3. Scroll up and down to finding your recorded files .
All recording files are saved as AAC format.
