Wamin CS-FX2 Fast Ethernet 6 Ports Switch with SFP
Overview
The CS-FX2 fast Ethernet switch equipped with 6 Copper and 2 SFP ports is a powerful
and versatile device for Ethernet access and transmission distance extension over
fiber optical cables. It is mainly designed for the FTTH (fiber to the home) concept. 6
Copper ports are for 6 users, 2 Fiber ports are for the connection with distant Intranet
or FTTH service provider. It also can be deployed as a media converter with Copper
to Fiber or Single-mode to Multi-mode applications. The CS-FX2 provides several
practical and innovative functions, which can be promptly set by dip switches. The
CS-FX2 is fully compliant with IEEE802.3, IEEE802.3u, and IEEE802.3x standards. By
following up the distinct procedures in the manual, the user can easily install this
switch and monitor the real time operation status conveniently via the LED set
located at the front panel.

between 0°C and 50°C. Humidity should be between 10% and 90% and be
non-condensing. Please ensure adequate ventilation is provided for system cooling.
Do not block the ventilation holes on either side of the chassis. The CS-FX2 switch is a
plug-and-play device. Optional functions provided can be set by the DIP switches
mounted on the host board. Please refer to the correlative description in this
instruction manual for the settings of DIP switches.

*Flow Control: This function complies with IEEE802.3x
*Aging Timer: The longest time for packets queuing in the buffer is 300s.
* Reserved Address Forward Filter: CS-Fx2 supports the ability to drop 802.1d specified
reserved group MAC address: (01-80-C2-00-00-04 to 01-80-C2-00-00-0F). Frames with
group MAC address 01-80-C2-00-00-01 (802.3x Pause), 01-80-C2-00-00-02 (802.3ad
LACP) will always be filtered.
* Port Base VLAN: Port Base VLAN groups are defined as following; (P0, P7), (P1, P7),
(P2, P7), (P3, P7), (P4, P7), (P5, P7), (P6, P7)
* Power Saving Mode: The 10M transmit amplitude is depressed in this mode.
* LDPS (Link Down Power Saving) Mode: When the system link is down, it will
automatically switch to this mode once this function is enabled. In this mode, the
system will save power up to 25% by decreasing the frequency of FLP (fast link pulse).
* MLT3_DET: CS-Fx2 supports the ability to detect MLT3 (for 10Mbps switch to
100Mbps)
* Broadcast Storm Protection: A port begins to drop packets if it receives broadcast
packets more than the defined threshold.
* Aggressive Back Off Mode: CS-Fx2 adopts modified (aggressive) back off algorithm
if this function is enabled. The maximum back off period is limited to 8-slot time. It
makes CS-Fx2 have higher transmission priority in a collision event.
* Port 6, 7 of High Priority: Packets received from port 6 or port 7 are handled as high
priority packets if the function is enabled.
* Class of Service: Packets with high priority tag are handled as high priority packets
if the function is enabled.
* Max Packet Size Option: CS-Fx2 will drop packets with length longer than 1536
bytes if the function is enabled. On the contrary, it will drop packets with length
longer than 1552 bytes.
* OES-224A is a SNMP manageable switch equipped with 24 100Mbps ports, and 2
Gigabit ports for uplink connection. All the Gigabit and 100Mbps ports are in
modular design, with TP or Fiber option. For complete specifications, please contact
Wamin Optocomm Mfg. Corporation.
* CS-1000 series 1000Base-T to 1000Base-SX/LX Media Converters are economical

Note:
*SCA (Smart Cable Analysis): CS-Fx2 performs SCA on TP each port and shows the
test result on LEDs. This function is valid only under Point to Point Ethernet connection
with SCA implemented on both end apparatuses. The following table shows the LED
