Storing Your Juice
Storing in the Fridge
Refrigerated juice will keep for up to 48 hours when stored in an airtight con-
tainer. Avoid drinking juice stored for more than 72 hours. When storing, ll
the container to the brim with juice to reduce oxygen content. Oxygen expo-
sure will deplete the nutrients in juice over time.
N:
Make a double batch of juice each time. Drink half right away to receive the
full nutritional benets of freshly made juice. Fresh juice is best consumed
within 20 minutes of juicing. Properly store the rest to drink later in the day.
is will allow you to receive the most vitamins and minerals from at least
one serving of your daily juice.
Storing in the Freezer
ough not preferred over refrigeration, you may freeze homemade juice.
Freeze juice immediately aer making it. Frozen juice will last 7-10 days. aw
in the refrigerator.
Storing in Cooler
If you plan to take your juice with you, store it in a cooler with ice packs.
Always keep homemade juice in a dark, cool environment and away from heat
sources and natural or articial light.

9
Using Juicer Pulp
You will nd that juicing produces a lot of leover pulp, mostly consisting of
fruit and vegetable ber. For example, it takes about 4 large carrots to create 1
cup (8 ounces) of carrot juice. ose 4 carrots contain 8 grams of total ber.
Two grams of ber end up in the juice; the remaining 6 grams become part of
the pulp.
You may reduce waste by nding creative and delicious ways to use juicer
pulp. We oer several suggestions below.
• Add pulp to smoothie recipes to increase the ber content of smoothies.
• Include pulp in soups or stews, or make vegetable broth from it by boiling
with water, herbs, and spices.
• Dehydrate pulp to make crackers and fruit leathers.
• Freeze pulp and make healthy fruit popsicles (aka pulpsicles).
• Add pulp to all manner of baked goods, including muns, cookies, breads,
and cakes.
• Mix pulp in with dog food or make healthy dog treats from it.

Juicing Tips
Preparing to Juice
orough preparation matters in juicing. Make sure to use the freshest fruits
and vegetables you can nd and carefully wash all produce. Cutting fruits
and vegetables reduces their nutrients. Always chop up your ingredients right
before juicing to limit nutrient loss. Chop vegetables in particular into rough
chunks (small enough to t into the feeder tube).
Most juicers, your Waring Pro Health™ Juicer included, do not require you to
peel or seed all ingredients before juicing. However, some fruits and vegetables
you’ll want to peel or deseed anyway. Peel fruits with toxicities in the skins,
including oranges, grapefruits, and papaya. You can juice the stems and leaves
on most fruits and vegetables. Lastly, always roll greens, like kale or spinach,
into tight balls before pushing them into the juicer.
Juicing Methods
Remember to push hard fruits and vegetables into the feeder tube using pul-
sating, uneven motions. Push soer vegetables in slow, continuous motions.
Aer juicing everything, check the pulp. If pulp appears damp, run it through
the juicer.
Juicing Greens
Oen used in juice fasts, juiced greens oer numerous health and tness ben-
ets. However, properly juicing greens requires some special prep work and
instructions. Over time, though, you’ll learn the process secondhand.
1. Before adding your leafy greens to the juicer start with a base vegetable
with a high water content. Examples include romaine lettuce, cucumbers,
or celery. ese types of bases will also make your leafy greens taste better.
2. Next, add your leafy greens. Try kale, chard, spinach, or any others. Make
sure to roll them into tight balls before juicing them.
3. en add some herbs. Cilantro and parsley work great for detoxing. Roll
these into tight balls rst too.
4. Add some zest to your juice with ginger, lemon, or lime. Clean, cut up,
and add ginger straight into the juicer. For lemon or lime, squeeze them
into the juice by hand and whisk the ingredients.
5. Lastly, add a pear or apple to sweeten your juice if you like. Try it without
the fruit rst and then decide.

More Juicing Tips
Drinking Your Juice
As soon as fresh juice is exposed to air, its nutritional content begins breaking
down. You’ll receive the most nutrients from your juice if you drink it within
20 minutes of making it. If you store your juice for more than a few hours,
expect some ingredients to separate.
Cleaning Your Juicer
When you nish juicing, carefully scrub your juicer’s housing with warm
water and a cloth. Clean dishwasher-safe parts in the dishwasher if possible.
If not possible, allow dishwasher-safe parts to soak in soapy water for a few
hours. Remember to not leave your juicer dirty. If you don’t have time to thor-
oughly clean your juicer aer each use, at least wipe the motor housing and
parts with a damp cloth and clean later.
