Wrap the threads of the Shark Bite with Teflon Tape (provided) 3-4 wraps. Keep it flat
and tight. Place into the Canister Head (do not over tighten) The Canister Head has a Red
Pressure Release Button on the inlet side. This is used when changing the Purification
Media Inserts, by releasing the pressure from the water line.
Remove the head from the housing to ease the assembly of the unit. This is done by
unscrewing it from the housing (see figure 16 A). Use the wrench if needed.

Position the Heads with the Red Pressure Release Button on the left. (See figure 3) Line
up the red pipe assembly to insert the pipe. (See figure 7) Press the pipe in, up to the
mark on the pipe (See figure 8A and 8B) Repeat for the blue assembly. The red pipe
will go to the back.
Figure 9
The assembly should now look like this.
Red is to the back, Blue in the front

Turn the assembly over, and then locate the tape mark at the elbow. (See figure 10A)
This is the location for the HydroCare strap connection. (See figure 10B) At this time,
install the HydroCare module as follows:

Attach the HydroCare Unit to the strap, with the light facing out. (Away from the pipe
assembly).

1. Screw the mounting bracket to the 2. Push the top section firmly onto
pipe work with a screwdriver. the bracket.

3. Clip on the lower section 4. Withdraw the split pin.

5. Plug the low voltage cable into the unit
and connect the transformer to the main's
supply. The red light should glow brightly.

Turn assembly over to attach the Mounting Cover. At this time record the serial number
located under the cover beside the Gauges. Position the cover to line up the bolt patterns
and the pressure release buttons. Pressure Gauges are pre-installed. 8 Lag Bolts are
provided (DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN)

After the cover is attached, turn the unit over. The Pressure Gauge Fittings will be visible
at this time. There are two ¼ inch tubes included, 1 Red, 1 Blue. They are push-in
fittings. (See figure 14A and 14B) Insert the Red into the Red Pipe and into the Red
Gauge. (Left of the HydroCare Unit) Repeat for the Blue side (Right of the HydroCare
Unit) (See figure 13B) These will provide inlet and outlet pressure. Make sure the
HydroCare is centered for the light to shine toward the cover. Adjust if needed.
Figure 15
The Dual Action System is ready to connect to your water source.
Inlet pressure should not exceed 85 psi.

CONNECTION NOTES:
1. Turn off your water supply
2. Turning off your water heater is recommended
3. Release water pressure by opening a faucet
4. Attach water source to the Red pipe (Inlet)
5. Blue is for the Purified water to your home (Outlet)
6. Shutting off valves for ease of insert changes is recommended
7. Mount the Unit to a solid surface to prevent falling. (cover is drilled for 16 inch
on center)
Figure 16 A Figure 16 B
Remove the O-Ring located on the lip of the Canisters. (See figure 16A) Coat the O-
Ring with a light coat of Silicon (small tube provided). Replace O-Ring on the
Canister just above the threads (See figure 16B). Make sure the O-Ring is clean and
smooth.
Figure 17 A Figure 17 B
The Purification Media Inserts (figure 17A) are inserted into the Canister Housing.
(Figure 17B) They must be placed with the gasket on the top for proper water
flow. There is a Centering Nub in the bottom of the Canister, to hold the insert in the
proper position. The insert should fit below the top as pictured. (Figure 17B) If it
doesn’t, reposition the Canister until it fits into place by holding the Canister from the
bottom and screwing it onto the Head assembly. Go slowly and tighten ‘hand tight’.
Do both Canisters. You may now turn your water on. Go slowly and check for leaks.
Check your Pressure Gauges at this time. Remember to turn your water heater on.

Figure 18
After mounting to the wall, plug in your HydroCare unit. You should be able to see
the light through the sight cover. (You may need to align the Hydro Care for best
view of the light)
SYSTEM NOTES:
1. Installation of Water ShutOff Valve is recommended for filter changes and
for emergency shut off of water.
2. A pressure difference of 0 to 5 psi is normal on your Inlet and Outlet Gauges.
3. Pressure loss of 10 psi or more can indicate time to change your Inserts
4. Depending on your water quality, your Inserts should last between 6-12 months
5. To change your Inserts, turn off the water supply. Release the pressure (the red
buttons on the heads)
6. Remove the Canister. A wrench is provided if needed to unscrew. A bucket may
be needed to catch water that may spill.
7. Remove the old Insert, install the new Insert with the O-ring on top. (Inserts are
directional and flow only one way).
8. Check the top O-Ring, and coat with Silicon. Place on top of the Canister and
replace into the unit. You must change both Inserts.
9. Turn the water back on slowly and check for leaks.
Note: Fill out the enclosed Warranty Card and mail.
Make appropriate entries on the Maintenance Card provided (date installed and
dates filters are changed).
The HydroCare Dual Action Water System is the result of the finest craftsmanship and
the highest quality materials available. Its design and manufacture is based on a unique
modular concept, which provides higher quality water and higher flow rates, while using
less space and less cost per gallon of water produced, than conventional systems. The
pipe size is 1” throughout the entire unit and will adapt to household plumbing with use
of a simple slip–on compression fitting. This process can be accomplished without the
use of any additional tools. The fittings recommended are available at most hardware
stores and will easily slip onto the following pipe types: PEX, Copper, CPVC, or
Galvanized. Other pipe types can also be adapted to the Dual Action System with the use
of an additional adapter. Again, these fittings are available at most hardware stores. The
System should be installed using quality materials and standards that are approved in the
geographic area where the System is being installed.
