To Make Recording
Plug microphone into Mic jack. Place remov-

if recording is to be made at 7 L/ 2 ips. Remove
collar and store on storage post with linurled screw
to record at 3 3/ 4 ips. Turn Off-Or Volume control
clockwise from Off position and allow sufficient time
for tubes to warm up. Move Record safety knob to
the left and turn Selector knob to Record to start re-

Hold the microphone approximately eight inches
from themouth when recording voice" Place the mic-

The recording is made on the top half of the

full reel from the take-up spindle, turn it over, and

place it on the supply spindle. After threading the
tape, another recording can be made on the other half

desired amorHrt of tape on the supply reel. Stop tape
by turning Selector knob to Stop.

the desired selections loined together. Tape shouldbe
cut on a diagonal and the ends joined together with
splieing tape applied to ttre glossy side of the tape.
Excess splicing tape should be trimmedfrom the sides
of the tape.
