Improperhandlingoftheequipmentcanleadtoseriousinjuryormaterial
damage.Thereforeitisimperavethat:

Wearingpersonalprotecveequipment(PPE)isessenaltominimizetheriskstooperang
personnelwhenworkingwiththepowerunits.
Itisessenaltowearthefollowingprotecveclothingforallwork:
Protecve work clothing
Tight-ngworkclothingwithghtsleevesandwithoutprojecng
partsshouldbewornforwork.Itisprimarilyusedtoprotectagainst
entanglementbymovingequipmentparts.
Safety footwear
Safetyfootwearwithsteeltoecapsmustalwaysbewornas
proteconagainstheavyfallingpartsandfromslippingonslippery
ground.
Work gloves
Workglovesmustbewornwhenworkingwiththeequipmentforprotecon
againstsharpedgesandglassfragments.
Helmet with face shield
Ahelmetwithfaceshieldmustbewornforproteconagainstyingor
fallingpartsandglassfragments.
Protecve goggles
Protecvegogglesmustalsobeworninaddiontothefaceshieldinorder
toprotecttheeyesfromslivers.
With certain work the following must also be worn in addion:
Ear protectors
Inadditiontothebasicprotectiveequipment,earprotectorsshould
alsobewornforprotectionagainsthearingdamage.

» Disconnectthepowersupplyimmediatelyifthereisdamageto

» Onlyaqualiedelectricianshouldperformworkontheelectrical
equipment.

systemdisconnectedfromthemainspowersupplyandthe
systemmustbechecktoconrmthatitisde-energised.
» Priortoanymaintenance,cleaningorrepairworksthepower

unintenonallyswitchedbackon.
» Donotbypassfusesorrendertheminoperable.Alwaysuse
