The WTS-200 is a combined cooling and clean-
ing control unit for closed milk-cooling tanks.
It offers a top-quality milk cooling regulator which
controls the agitator and compressor / evapora-
tor valves. Other features include an adjustable
cooling start delay and cooling time monitoring
for the first milking, together with automatic
after-stirring and press-button switching be-
tween target temperatures.
The complete cleaning timer controlling water
valves, washing pump, heater, outlet valve etc.
offers a full range of adjustable parameters. The
cleaning programme is flexible and comprises
up to six separate rinses, each of which can be
repeated several times. If only one main wash
per cleaning programme is chosen, there is an
additional option to determine how many times
cleaning should take place with alkaline deter-
gent before the tank is cleaned with acidic deter-
gent.
Water intake is by level or by time, as preferred.
Outlet valves can be programmed to be “de-
energised open” or “de-energised closed”.
During cleaning a connected robot is switched
off by the WTS-200's “Cleaning active” signal.
After cleaning, the robot restarts the cooling
process via a digital input signal.
As an extension to the functions of the WTS-
100-2, the WTS-200 has an RS-485 interface
and can thus be parameterised and updated via
the "Welba-Konsoft" Software.
In addition, the temperature developments can
be graphically displayed, recorded and printed
on request.

configured and the measuring- and control-
values can be clearly visualized.
Parameterizing
All setting parameters can be entered and stored
on a level-related basis on your PC in a clear
operation mask. For each parameter a “descrip-
tion text” is deposited.
Once all parameters have been entered, the
complete configuration can be transferred to the
WTS-200 via USB interface.
Visualization
Measured values from the WTS-200 can also be
read out via USB-transmission and displayed
and stored graphically or in tabular form on the
screen. Thus a fast fault analysis is possible.

!Stand-by function
(agitator and compressor off)
The milk cooling function of the WTS-200 includes
all features that a modern cooling tank control
should offer.
The control can be used for all common tank
models.
It supports both, the devices with compressor
(direct-evaporator) and those with ice-water-
cooling.
The activation of the cooling process can be done
in different ways:
,manually via button „START COOLING“
, via digital input „Remote start cooling“ (from
the robot or external button)
The cooling starts now according to pre-set
starting modes:
!Direct or
!with cooling start delay,
The control can be parameterized so that after the
cooling mode is triggered, the start of the compres-
sor is delayed in order to prevent freezing of small
quantities of milk in the tank. This delay takes
place at the first milking only - after the cleaning.
Operation mode
Parameterization
The control unit has various operating modes:
!OFF mode (tank empty)
The control unit is on stand-by. The display shows 'OFF', the LEDs are out and all
output replays are deactivated..
The following operating modes can only be selected from the OFF mode. It is not
possible to switch directly from one of them to another.
!Cooling mode
The current milk temperature, as measured, is permanently displayed.
It is possible to switch between two freely adjustable target temperatures by pressing a
button. If the milk temperature exceeds the selected target temperature (T1 or T2) by
the hysteresis value, the compressor relay and agitator are automatically activated.
Once the target temperature is reached, the compressor switches off, while the
agitator continues to operate for the pre-set 'after-stirring' time.
During non-cooling periods the agitator switches on at pre-set intervals in order to
ensure an even temperature throughout the milk.
Independently of this a short or long 'intermediate stirring' period can be selected
during cooling by pressing a button.
Operate by pressing button on foil keyboard:
If the delayed start is activated (parameter c80), cooling starts for the first milking after
a delay. If the cooling button is pressed twice, cooling starts immediately.
Operation via digital input:
The cooling starts immediately - depending on the setting - or with a delayed start
cooling.
!Continuous stirring mode
The agitator can be switched on from the OFF-mode by pressing a button and press
OFF-button to switch off. After which time the stirrer shuts off again is adjustable. This
action can be discontinued at any time with the OFF-button.
If parameterized the agitator is running indefinitely, but can be switched off with the
OFF-button at any time.
!Washing mode
The washing timer controls water intake as either by time or level, selected. All running
times (heater, pump, detergent injection) can be set separately. Detergent switchover
from acidic to alkaline can also be set.
The WTS-100-2 controls the various processes and times needed for a thorough wash
fully automatically.
Following a power failure the control unit restarts in the mode in which it was
operating before the outage.

A full service
In many cases we offer more than just develop-
ment work.
At Welba we also understand service to include
the development of concepts for the use of the
new product by your own customers, the design
and production of frontal foils or even housings,
or the provision of operating instructions with
your own corporate design.
Not always major developments...
For many of our clients we also develop and
manufacture simple electronic systems for
straightforward applications.
The development of solutions tailored to solve
our clients’ specific problems is one of Welba’s
major strengths. Here we can offer extensive
experience, as well as excellent references.
On the basis of many previous development
projects we are in a position to devise a solution
to meet your specific needs. Nor is our know-how
not restricted to temperature measurement
technology; we can also develop solutions in
completely different areas of measurement and
regulation technology. We can often achieve the
necessary simply by modifying our standard
products.
In any event, we will always recommend the best
solution for you.
Welba's standard temperature sensors are char-
acterized by high measuring accuracy and a long
service life.
The case material made of stainless steel
(1.4301) is food-safe and allows the use in many
aggressive media.
On request, we manufacture sensors in different
case shapes and cable materials.
The following figure gives an impression of the
possibilities.
