1. Safety Information
1.1 Important Safety Instruction
Yours and others’safety is an important matter.
This guide provides important safety measures and information
regarding the use of the product. Please read this User Guide and
installation instructions and all other information enclosed with the
washer carefully and act accordingly.
This sign warns that yours or others’safety may
be at risk. This sign together with the words

Before disposing the washer at the end
of its use, disconnect the main plug,
sever the main cable and discard along

laundry bags (not provided with the
washer) to avoid damages.

2. Installation Guide
2.1 For installation or dismantling of the
washer
When you encounter difficulties during installation or usage of the washer,
please call Whirlpool local agent to seek advice of arrange for maintenance
or repairs.
WARNING
Risk of injury during installation
This washer requires two or more persons to carry and install. Not
following this instruction may cause spinal or other serious injuries.
1. Remove all accompanying items from the
washer drum:

cover and adjusting feet of the

detergent compartment separator plate (refer to
single sheet explanation note)
2. Two persons are required to remove the protective
plastic base from the bottom of the washer.
The base must be removed before use, without which
the washer may sustain damages.

3. Remove four sets of installation kit
attached to four corners at the back of the
washer. Each set consists of a screw,
washer and plastic retainer (A).
Use the smaller end of the hex wrench provided, loosen the screw by about 2cm
(B). Move hex wrench horizontally to the round opening (C). Pull the screw, washer
and plastic retainer out at the same time.
4. Loosen the wire on the plastic retainer.
Wire can only be removed after
the kit is pulled out.
5. Plug the gap with the bolt hole cover (E)
Referring to Diagram E, insert the plastic
plug into the circular opening where the
arrow is pointing towards.
Press down the protruded portion in the
centre.
Push the bolt hole cover in to plug the
gap, following the arrow direction.
Important:
Installation kits must be removed before using the washer, or it may sustain
damages when in operation.

2.2 Electrical and water pressure requirements
1. A 2-pin plug is provided with each washer:
the plug
complies with the standards in your country, to be
connected to a power socket that complies to the standards. Please
ensure a good functioning 20A 2-pin socket is
used with the plug.
2. Check the 220V electrical socket and ensure it
meets the voltage requirement labeled on the
provided cable.
WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard
Please ensure the electric connection is properly
grounded.
Please do not remove the ground connection
Please do not use adapter or Ts (3-pin plug adapter)
Please do not use an extension cord.
Not following this guide may cause fire or lead to
electrical shock and harm lives.
3. A 220V/ 60Hz/ 20 amp power socket that comes with fuse wire.
Dedicated power supply, enhanced safety wire and circuit breaker are
recommended. Please engage a qualified electrician to install.
Important Notice
If the electrical cable is spoilt, please contact Whirlpool, Whirlpool’s
local agent or qualified personnel for replacement. Please refer to
Whirlpool website for contact numbers.
Important:
Please retain the four sets of installation kit for future use, when
moving the washer.

4. A dedicated water tap for the washer is recommended.
If such
an option is not available, connect rubber water hose to any
existing tap, but ensure that a ¾inch O ring is used to secure
the tap and pipe from leaking.
Recommended water pressure is between 20 to 800 kPa (approximately 0.2 - 8.0
kgf/cm2, equivalent to 2 - 80m water pressure, which is higher than
normal water tap level). Water temperature should be between 5-30 degree °C to
ensure the normal functioning of the washer.
2.3 Installing the washer
1. Affix the rubber water hose for discharging water to the
smallest pipe with a 5cm diameter. After removing the
curved pipe, push the rubber hose inwards and upwards. If a
dedicated rubber water hose is not available,
retain the curved pipe for directing water discharge into water
pail or tank.
Important Notice
The curved end of the rubber water hose for
discharging water must be fixed at a height
between 0.85 to 1.2m.
If lower than 0.85m, the washer would not be able
to fill its tank with the amount of water required for
its operation.
If higher than 1.2m, it would not be able to
discharge used water.
Important Notice
Please do not connect the washer to a hot water tap, this will affect its drying
functions.

2. Using the curved end of the rubber water hose (F),
connect to the outlet at the top on the back of the washer
3. Secure the straight end of the rubber water hose (G) to
the top of the water tap with a screw.
4. Tighten till water does not seep through. Turn on the tap. If water
leaks through, tighten both ends of the rubber water hose. Do
not seal the connecting joints with tapes
5. Open the cover on the front bottom right of the
washer. Ensure that the filter cover is
tightened. To tighten, turn the filter cover clockwise till
it’s fully tightened. In addition, check to ensure the soft
pipe for discharging water
connected to the filter is tight as well.
6. Ensure that the washer is placed on a flat
surface, and that all four supporting feet are
even and stable to prevent and reduce vibration and noise
during operation.
7. Ensure there’s a minimum 10cm space between the
back of the washer and the wall, furniture or object it is
standing against.
Important Notice
The washer must not be placed in a spot exposed to
rain and weather elements. Do not place it on a
carpeted surface to avoid blocking its ventilation
system.
Important Notice
Please use the new rubber hose that comes with the
washer. Do not re-use old / used rubber water hose.

8. To check whether the washer is balanced, stand in front of the
machine, with hands placed on the top of the
machine, shake to see if it wobbles. If it does wobble,
check and adjust the height of the four supporting feet to
improve on its balance. Turn each supporting foot
clockwise to shorten its height, turn anti-clockwise to
lengthen it. All feet must touch the floor. Finally, using
the hex wrench accompanying the product, tighten the
nut with the larger end (H). Vibration, noise, leaks and wear
and tear can be reduced following this method.
9. Connect the plug to a power socket.
WARNING
Fire Hazard
Please do not place the washer near fire stoves, heaters or other fire or heat
source. Do not place lit candles, lanterns or other similar light
source. Ignoring this warning may lead to fire hazard and risk lives.
2.4 Cleaning the Washer
Before the use of the washer, please follow the following steps to
clean the interior of the machine:
1. Add 20ml detergent to the detergent box, approximately ⅓ of the measuring cup
provided with the washer.
2. Follow the operating guide on page 16. Choose ‘WASH’and ‘WHITES’programmes.
3. Allow the washer to complete the selected programme cycles.
Important Notice
The supporting feet provided with the washer are specially designed for the
product. Please do not replace with other feet, as this may cause unnecessary
vibration and damage to the machine.

4.Caring for your Laundry
To appropriately care for your laundry, please study the various wash and dry programmes
carefully. Understanding the optimum use of the washer would help to care for your
laundry items and keep them in shape longer.
Check the garment label:
can be washed (eg. some wool
clothing items can’t be washed)
can be machine-washed or dried
can be bleached
requires a particular type of detergent
or washing/ drying programme.
Separating your laundry:
White and coloured items
Laundry with colours that run, and
those that don’t
Badly soiled clothing (needs stronger
washing programme) and those that
aren’t as dirty. In this way, washing
cycles can be more efficient without
damaging clothes that are more
delicate and/or less dirty.
Items that attract lint (socks, swim gear
etc.) and items that produce lint (eg.
towels, certain types of sporting gear
etc.)
Separately dry large laundry and small
laundry items. For example, when bed
sheets and children’s clothing are
placed in the same drying cycle, the
small size clothing would not be
effectively dried.
Inspecting the clothes
before washing:
Before washing, check clothing for items
or parts that may loosen or drop off during the
wash and damage or affect the proper
functioning of the washer.
Remove brooches, pins, belts, padding or
any other clothing accessories
Empty pockets of all items
Remove curtain hooks before washing
curtains
Place delicate items such as lingerie in
laundry bags, especially wired ones and
those with removable straps
Repair clothing items with loose threads,
buttons etc.before putting into the
wash
Zip and button up to avoid damaging or
entangling clothing during wash.

Practical tips on dirt
removal:
Promptly clean soiled clothing for effective
stain removal. Avoid letting stains
dry or set into the fabric.
The longer stains stay on clothes, the more
the damage to the fabric. Not
only would it be harder to remove the
stains, the fabric would sustain greater
damage.
If clothes are stored away or ironed
without properly or thoroughly cleaned, the
stains may permanently remain on the
clothes.
Most stains may require more than
one-time cleaning to be removed,
sometimes several washing cycles are
needed to completely remove the
stains.
Before using stain remover on a piece of
clothing, first test it on an
inconspicuous spot to avoid damaging the
clothes.
Do check the care instruction label.
Use recommended detergent, bleach,
softener or stain remover.
Effectiveness of cleaning is dependent on
the product used.
Drying method:
When a drying cycle ends and the washer
stops, promptly remove laundry to
reduce creases. If the laundry can’t be
removed immediately, use ‘Tumble
Fresh’function which periodically
tumbles to prevent creases from
forming.
Avoid mixing thick laundry items and
lighter ones. This would cause the
latter to be over-dried.
Choose drying cycle that is suitable for the
fabric type. Upon completing the
draining cycle, the washer would
automatically detect the clothing volume
and dryness level. If the chosen drying time
is 30 mins or 1 hour, the digital display will
indicate the exact time, till
the drying process is completed.
Clothes with colours that runs, such as
denim or vibrantly coloured cotton may
stain the interior of the washer. Such
stains would not damage the washer
nor affect its drying function.
Thoroughly drying such clothing would
prevent other clothes from being
stained.
Testing for colour runs:
To determine if colours from clothing run, follow the following steps:
1. Wet a corner of the item with water, preferably along the seams
2. Place a white cloth on the wet spot, iron over with an iron
3. If the colour of the clothing transfer on to the white cloth, this shows that this piece of clothing
would transfer its colour to other clothingitems. Please wash separately with cold water, without
soaking. Upon washing, hang to dry.

5. Using the Washer
Follow the steps below to operate the washer
WARNING
Fire Hazard
Do not soak or stain clothing with fuel, turpentine or petrochemical
products, which may cause explosion. Ignoring this warning may
cause fire and risk lives.
5.1 Place laundry inside the washer
1. Sort clothing items by fabric type and colour
2. Pull open the washer door
3. Place clothing inside the drum.
Please do not
overload the machine with too much clothing,
follow instruction to operate the machine. When
washing or drying, the drum must not be
over-loaded or crowded.
Note that some types of clothing, such as those made of synthetic or foam may be light in weight, but
large in size and volume. Though they may take up less weight limit, to
achieve effective washing, its volume and size must be taken into consideration.
4. Shut the machine’s door, firmly push in till the lock ‘clicks’.
The ‘door locked’signal
will light up and the door will remain locked during the machine’s operation.
Important Notice
When washing and drying programmes are completed, the ‘door locked’
signal light will go off and the door will automatically unlock itself. You may
then open the door to retrieve the laundry from inside the drum.
When a programme is in progress, the door can only be opened when the
‘Start/ Pause’ button is pressed, or when the power switch is switched off the
terminate the programme.

5.2 Adding washing detergent to the detergent drawer
The detergent box has three compartments, from which
detergent is dispersed during washing cycles. Pull out
the drawer, add detergent following the instructions
below, shut the drawer lightly to
prevent the detergent from spilling out.
When the washing is completed, the detergent drawer
would have small amount of water in it. This
is normal.
Do not place detergent directly inside the drum.
Detergent must be placed within the detergent
drawer, and in the appropriate compartment.
Use of washing detergent
The left compartment in the detergent drawer is for washing detergent.
Adjust
the separator plate according to the type of detergent used.
oTo use detergent, slide the separator plate upwards till it tilts and firmly sits at
the top of the track. Place the separator plate at the bottom,
leave some gap between the separator plate and the bottom of the
drawer.
oTo use washing essence, place the separator plate at the bottom, do
not leave any gap between the separator plate and the bottom of the
drawer.
Pull Upwards：Detergent
Pull Downwards：Essence
Other than the ‘clean washer’programme, the detergent drawer can be used for all
other programmes.
The amount of detergent used is dependent on the degree of soiling and the
volume of the load. Use less detergent for clothing that is mildly dirty. For
maximum load and very soiled laundry, minimum 65ml detergent is needed for
effective dirt removal and washing. For the amount of washing essence, follow
usage recommendation provided by essence manufacturer.
If there’s too much foam, reduce the amount of detergent used in the next wash. When
there’s too much foam, the washer will automatically adjust the
programme to extend the washing time.

Fabric softener
Add fabric softener to the centre compartment in the detergent drawer.
The use of
softener is optional.
Do not exceed the maximum amount indicated.
The softener will over-spill to other
compartments and cause contamination if the maximum is exceeded.
Some brands of softener are more sticky and likely to leave residue inside the
compartment. Pour some clean water into the compartment to dilute and cleanse it
before the next use.
Pre-Wash
Only when selecting the ‘Pre-wash’programme would it be necessary to add detergent or essence
to the right-hand compartment.
When washing essence is used, it will flow through from the detergent drawer into the
drum before the washing programme begins. This is normal.
5.3. Operating the Washer
Power
Switch the washer on or off, or cancel a programme that is in
progress by pressing the Power button. Unless ‘Tumble Fresh’
function is selected, the washer will be automatically switched off when
the selected programme is completed.
Important Notice
Do not dump softener into the Pre-wash or Detergent compartments. Use the
appropriate compartment for each type of detergent. Mixing may cause
chemical reactions between detergent and essence, potentially contaminating
the laundry and damage the washer.
If the wrong detergent is added by mistake, simply remove the separator
plate and follow the steps on page 24 to clean the drawer.
Important Notice
Do not add detergent or essence to the right-hand compartment if ‘Pre-wash’ is
not selected.
Important Notice
When there’s too much foam, the FOD signal will light up, it is not because the
machine is faulty. Simply reduce the amount of detergent used in the next
wash. Use the measuring cup to measure the amount, and follow the
recommendation on the detergent product label.

Important Notice
‘Add Garment’ signal will blink for a few minutes before a selected
programme begins, garments can be added and there would not be
water injected during this time.
If the ‘Add Garment’ function is switched off when pausing a
washing programme, the washer will discharge the water before its
door opens. If there is no more detergent in the drawer, do add
more detergent before the washing continues.
Start / Pause
Initiate or pause a selected programme by pressing this button.

Programmes
Washing and/or drying
programmes offering various
unique
combination of tumbling
method, pre-wash and rinse
duration, water temperature,
rinse frequency and spin speed, to

Quick Wash
This programme allows quick washing and drying of
lightly soiled and lighter laundry items. It is suitable for
drying light cotton, synthetic or mixed materials. Heavier
and bulkier items will not be completely dried using this
programme. The maximum load for Quick Wash is 1kg.
Wash + Dry
Select washing plus drying within a selected programme.
The maximum load for this function is 6kg of dry laundry.
Wash
Washing only. The maximum load for this function is 10kg
of dry laundry.
Dry
Drying only. The maximum load for this function is 6kg of
dry laundry.

Understanding the different Programmes
WHITES
For soiled, hard to wash white clothing items, with high washing
strength and longer washing time to ensure effectiveness.
NORMAL
For daily, mildly soiled clothing items, such as shirts, leisure wear,
school uniforms, t-shirts and tops.
DELICATE
For delicate, easily damaged items such as laundry, silk or
synthetic material. Check care instruction labels to ensure the items are
suited for machine wash and/or drying. This programme
uses low temperature, low spin speed combined with shorter
washing time.
HEAVY DUTY
For heavily soiled coloured items.
SILENT
Combines smooth tumbling and low spin speed to reduce the noise level
during machine operation.
CLEAN
WASHER
For periodic cleaning of the washer. Do not place laundry in the
drum when selecting this programme. If the washer detects
laundry inside its drum, the wording rL will show on the digital
display. This programme does not allow changes once selected -
the Start/Pause button can not be pressed to stop or pause the
machine once it has started. To cancel the programme, switch off
the power supply. Refer to page 23 ‘Cleaning the washer interior’
for more information.
ALLERGEN
For removing source of allergy on clothing, such as dust mites,
animal fur etc.. The programme uses high temperature, 3-time
rinsing and 1-time spin.
BULKY ITEMS
For washing big items such as quilt covers, blankets, bed covers
and towels.
SHEET
For washing bed sheets, single or double blankets up to 2.1m by
2.6m. Wash + Dry and drying are not available for this programme.
COLORS
For washing bright coloured clothes.
