Before Operating Your
Washer
Read your washer Owner's Guide. lt contains important
safety and warranty informatidn. lt also contains many
suggestions for obtaining the best results from your
washer.
Operating Steps
Read and follow Washing Procedures in your Owner's
Guide. lt provides detailed information for preparing the
wash load and choosing controlsettings to ensure best
washing results. Washing Products in your Owner's
Guide provides detailed information for choosing effective
products and using them safely.
l. Sort laundry into loads that can be washed
together.
2. Prepare items for washing
3. Pretreat stains and heavy soil.
4. Add the measured amount of detergent to the
washer before adding the laundry load.
6. Add the laundry load to the wash tub
7. lf desired, add liquid fabric softener to Fabric
Softener Dispenser.
8. set washer controls according to typ€, si2e, and
soil level of each load:

Wash/Spin Speed

side) for more information on suggested water
temperatures, water level and wash/spin speeds.
9. Push in the cycle selector knob and turn it
clockwise to the desired wash cycle. See Cycle
Selection for cycle descriptions and the Control
Settings Chart for suggested cycle settings.
10. Start the washer by closing the lid and pulling
out the cycle selector knob. The washer will
operate with the lid open; however, the tub will not
spin unless the lid is closed. To stop the washer, push
in the cycle selector knob.To change a cycle, push in
the cycle selector knob and turn it clockwise to the
desired setting. Pulloutthe knob to restartthewasher.
I 1 . Remove items when the cycle is completed. As
a safety measure, the lidwillAUToMAT|cALLY LOCK
during the spin portion of each cycle. The lid will
automatically unlock approximately I minute afterthe
tub stops spinning.
Cycle Selection
For best results, follow the fabric care label directions on
items to be washed. Check the Control Settings Chart
if the care label is not available.
The Regular, Perm Press and Delicates cycles provide a
spray rinse during the first spin, followed by a deep rinse
and a final spin.
Regular Cycle
Up to I 5 minutes of wash agitation for mostfabrics
Perm Press Cycle
Up to 1 2 minutes ofwash agitation for cottons and blends
with a no-iron finish.

Delicates Cycle
Six minutes of wash agitation for the gentle care of
delicate items.
Soak & Prewash Cycle
. Soak - The Soak setting can be used to treat heavily
soiled orstained items. lt provides 2 minutes ofagitation
and l2 minutes of soaking time, then advances to the
Prewash portion of the cycle. Use the amount of
detergent recommended for a normalwash cycle. For
colorfast items, bleach or a soaking agent may also be
used. Follow manufacturer's directions on the product
label.
o Prewash -When soaklng is not necessary, the prewash
setting can be used alone to help remove protein-based
stains such as milk, grass and blood and to help loosen
soils before washing. During Prewash, the washer will
agrtate the load for 2 minutes, then drain, spin and shut
off. Use the amount of detergent and other laundry
products recommended for a normalwash cycle.
Note:
. The Soak water temperature is the same as the rinse
water temperature selected; the prewash water
temperature is the same as the wash watertemperature
selected. To avold setting protein stains, select cold
water.
. Select wash/spin speeds appropriate for the items
being soaked or prewashed.
. These cycle settings should always be followed by a
completewash cycle using the recommended amount
of detergent.
Controls
Select the desired controlsettings according to load size,
fabric type and degree of soiling. See Control Settings
Chart below or Warhing Procedures in your Owner's
G u ide for deta iled information on choosing controlsettings.
WASH/RINSE TEMPERATURE determines water
temperatures for washing and rinsing.
LOAD SIZEIWATER SAVER determines amountof wash
and rinse water used for the wash load. To increase the
water levelafter the wash cycle begins, turn the Load Sizey'
Water Savercontrolto Resetand hold.When water begins
to enter the tub, turn the control to the desired setting.
WASH/SPIN SPEED determines speeds for the agitation
and spin portions of each cycle.

Locate fabric type and read across guide for suggested wash and rinse temperatures, wash cycle and time
setting, and wash,/spin speeds. This is only a general guide. For best results, follow label
directions on specific items to be washed.
