1) Take the fitting from its packaging
and locate the small plastic bag
containing; split ring, four No8x5/8
screws, four nylon washers and a
20mm cable gland complete with
associated lock-nut and rubber seal.
2) Remove the reflector by first
loosening the two securing screws, but
do not unscrew. Slide the top of the
reflector down, enough to release the
reflector from the location slot, then
release the lower half by lifting the
reflector out (fig 1).

3) A knock-out for a 20mm cable gland is located on either side of the base.
Carefully remove the desired knock-out and secure the gland. To maintain the IP
integrity of the luminaire, correctly locate and secure the rubber seal and lock-nut (fig 2).
NB. Never wire the fitting using flat ‘twin & earth’ cable since this could affect the IP
rating and allow ingress of moisture. Use a minimum of 2.5mm2 mains cable of circular
cross section only.
4) Prepare the two key-hole slots and two mounting holes on the base of the fitting, then
secure the base in its desired location using appropriate screws (fig 2). Ensure that the IP
integrity of the fitting is not impaired by the method of securing by screws through the
base.
5) Once the base is secured, check that the
mains supply is isolated and then feed the
supply cable through the selected cable
entry. Secure the cable via the saddle-bar,
ensuring enough spare inside the fitting to
make required termination.
6) Make the wiring connections from a suitably
fuse mains supply the luminaire; Live, Earth
and Neutral wires can now be connected to the
terminals of the 3- way screw connector block,
taking special note of the L E N positions.
7) Once all the wiring is complete, relocated the reflector into the base and
secure. Carefully fit appropriate lamp into the lamp-holder.
8) Secure the diffuser using the four No8x5/8 screws. Tighten only enough to
maintain the IP integrity of the luminaire (fig 3). NOTE: to avoid damaging the
diffuser – do not over tighten the fixing screws.
9) Finally fit the split ring through both the body and diffuser.
