OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
Preparation
1. Remove theSteel security bar(Optional parts)andopen
thefrontdoorbypullingupthetwolatchesonthesideof
thecabinet. Pushthe Main powerswitchtoOFF(Center).
2. Ifyouare ready to useasolar pack,need tochargethe
solar power controller for 100%full byany standard
cellphonechargerwhichisavailable with5V/1V output..
3. Install 4pcsDtype Alkalinebatteriestothecompartment
optionally. Itisrecommendedifthesolarpackisnot
readywhile you wanttoconfigure thecamera andthey
will be used asabackuppowerinnormaloperation.
4. Thiscamera mustberequired a SD card to operate.
Before replacing for another SD card,be sure the Main
PW switchisalready atOFFpositioninorderto avoidthedatainthe SD mightbeflushed. After that,
formatting the new SDcardfirstlybefore operation willbe highlyrecommended ifitisthefirsttimeto
be used in thisdevice.
Quick Start
An easywaybelowtotellyou stepbystep
forgettingaquick start,it will run underthe
factory default Settings ifyoudonot
changeanyparameter.

2. AfterPWisON,system will be
readyforsetup. PressCAM-PW
toswitch On the Camera.
3. Set theinitial date andtimefor
theCamera andchooseeither at
PictureorVideo mode.(Seethe

4. Setother parametersofscoutingandexit thesettingmodeafterfinished.(See more paragraphs
aboutthe Settingfor Motion Sensor below).You canignore thisstep ifyou stillare not yet
understandwhattheyare.
5. Putit ontableorhangunit onasteady treearound1meterheight withtheattached belt andset
themotion PIR sensor almostpointto theareawhich youwishtomonitor.
6. Slide themainPW switchtoTEST andturn theSensorGain Control toMax.(Clock-wise) aswell as
waitfor after1minute.AftertheSELF-TEST lightgoesOFF,trytowalk infrontofmotionsensor
toverifyhowmuchdistanceandazoneyouwillbe detectedaccordingto the blinkingwalk-test
light.
7. PushPWback toONand you can leave.Nowthescoutingcamera will be ready to work stand-by
after 10seconds. Onceaneventwillbe detected,camera will takeashot tosave animage aswell
aseventcounterwill increasearecordautomatically.

It issuggested tocustomizeyoursettings after
you have experience tousethisdevice forafew
times.
SwitchthePW ON,thelower scouting LCD
showthe default settings. Youcan able to
programwithyourdesired parametersinstead of
the Factory default. When theunit exit from
settingmodeorno change sincePW ON,it will
goestothemotion detectionONDutymode
automatically after1minute.
Setting forMotionSensorOperation (PIR Sensor)
Thesettingsexplaination belowisreferredto keyson thelower portionoftheinnerpanel.Seethe Fig.3
Select ONDUTYfor Day,Nightor24 hours
The WORK buttonispressed once toenter the 24 HOUR > NIGHT > DAYoptions, the24 (Clock) On Duty
iconswill be blinking.Press thekey againto movethe blinkingicon to theSUN; Moon.PresstheOK/DEL key
onright toaccept for thedesired status andthen it becomestable.The Clock icon isrepresented formotion
detectionwill be valid 24 hours.The SUN isrepresentedfordayworking.The MOON isrepresentedforNight
only. If ONDuty is ready,ananimation Radarwill run toshowthedevice cansenseamotioninthisperiod.
SelectforQuick Shot
Quick Shotallowsformore imagestobe takenif additional motions maybe detected afterthe1st
motion andthecamera will still be ready formore shotsof instant motions. IftheBurstmodeissetforOFF,
youcanchoose1~3 additional events which willallow camera to shotbetween every20 seconds inorder to
have a group imageswhenmany animals are passing-by. “1isthedefault thatonlyonepicturetobetaken
andthengoestoPAUSEtime.“2or “3willre-armthesensorfortaking shotsin further thesecondandthird
event ifmore animals are following. (Exampleofuse: On atrailwhenyou wantapictureofwhatis
following thefirstyoungdeer.Likeasmartbuck,italwayswalk on thelast). Atime-outofeachshot
isaround20 seconds. Thesystemwill goestoPausemodeafteratotal numberofeventsaredoneortime-out.
Note:Thisfunctionisnotthesameastheburstmode. Burst will beused for difference purposes.
Pause Time
Thisisa silent period betweenmotion sensordoesabletodetect each eventfor a capture.Thesensorwillnot
work withinthegap.Youcanselect 00, 01,03,05,10, 20, 30, 45,60 minutesfora PAUSEoption.Press the
PAUSEbuttononce toenterforsetting.Press againtochange theblinkingNo. until thedesired time appearing.
PressOK/DEL toacceptit.
ChangeforMovieLength
Thisoptionwill letyou determinehowlongforeachvideototake. Thereare 3,5,10, 20, 30,45,60,90
secondsofvideo lengthto beselected.ThePAUSEkeyissharedfortwofunctions. PressandholdthePAUSE
keyfor3seconds, ablinkingvideocameraiconwillappeartoletyouknowyou already enter forvideolength
setting mode. Then press PAUSErepeatedly until yourdesiredlengthappears. Confirmed by theOK/DEL key.
NOTE: To takeVideoduringscounting,notonlytopresetavideolength,you also must berequiredto change
for VIDEO mode inthecamerasetting. Otherwise,thedevice stilldoestakepictures.
OK/DEL
It isakey forshared with twofunctions. Anytimeyouhavedonetoprogram theWORK,Q-SHOTand
PAUSE/Video Length,justpress theOK/DELkeytoaccept a newchange. Ontheotherhand, press and hold
it with 3seconds, itperformtheDELETEfunction that all eventcounts onthe scouting LCD willbe cleared. All
imagesandvideosincameraare still safeeventheeventcounteriscleared tozero.

EventCounter
Threedigitsinthecenter ofthelower scouting LCD letyouknowhowmany motionrecords that upto 999
events foratrail history.Ifyou wanttorenewthecounter,simply topressandholdtheOK/DELbuttonuntil
LCD becomeblinking,then it willresumeto[000].
Battery Icon
Low Bat-icons representatotal power capacity either from thesolarpackorback upbattery and will indicate
threestatusasbelow:
GOOD:Battery Iconshowwithsolid.
LOW: BatteryIcon ishalfblank.
BAD: Battery iconistotally blank.
Note: Whentheblank icon is noticed andthedeviceisworking withbattery withoutsolarpower
connected, youhavetoreplaceallbatteries for bland-new completely. Do nottry toreplacesome
ofthemonly. Solar power willnotchargetheinternal back-up batteries.
Important: Since this unit detectsbatteriesbecoming bad and the blankbattery icon does appear,theunit
will nolonger to work atnightperiod butstillwill takepicturesorvideo at day time.
Walk-Test /SensitivityAdjustment
The DISTANCE dialoninnerpanel is used foradjustingsensitivity ofthemotion sensor.By turningthedialto
theright,sensorsensitivityissettotheMaxtodetect animal over40feet away.You mayreducethedetection
distancefortakingwith alarger animaltarget inapicture. Walk-Testfeature isused toverifythedetection
range andpointing zone before placingit inthefield.After hanged theunitonatree,pushthePW switchto
Walk-TEST.TheWalk-TestLEDwill lightuplast1minute towarmup. (Theanimation radarwithTEST alert on
thesmall LCD isremainingblinkingduringWalk-Testmode).Then,Walk-TestLightwill goesoffandwill alert
with3timesflashing once youwill bedetected withinthescanzone.Nowyou trytogofaraway tocheck how
longthePIRmotionsensorwill still seeyou.Thecamera doesnottakeanypicture in thistestprocess.
Note: Thesystemwill resume back to normal ON DUTY modeautomaticallyafter3minutes(Time-Out)since
thelast triggered detection ofwalk-testtoavoid user mayforgettopushthePWswitchback to ONbefore he
left.
PW-ON Mode
Thisis a mainPWswitch in thebottom ofcabinet. Since it ispushedtoONmode,theunit will run warm- up
for 20seconds,thenstartto detectmotion event.Whenananimal orhumanisdetected,an eventwill be
recorded andthecamera willshotimmediately. Ifyouwantto stop system operation, simplyslideittoOFF.
OFF Mode
Slide thePW to thecenterpositionturnthesystempowerOFF.All picturesandcurrentsettingswill be
remained andinternal realtimeclock will still run ifeithersolarpackorback upbackupbattery are installed.
Note:Remember toremoveall batteriesif thiscamerawill beno longer touse
Turbo /TimeLapse Shot
Thereisswitchonthe rightofthescoutingLCD.Push theknobto Fast Trigger mode,theDC will be setfor
fast capturing.Inthismode,capturespeed willbe morethan2xfaster than settingin theBAT-Savewhile a
motionisdetected.SettingofBAT_SAVEwill beonly idealforextendingbatterylife. On theother hands,itis
used toenable theTimeLapse Shot while you haveset thecamera forTimeLapsemode.(Seemore
paragraphsaboutthe Settingfor TimeLapse Option below)

Before programmingforthecamera,besure Main

Onceyou press CAM-PWto switch ONtheCamera,
theIN-USE Lightwill stay ON. it always worksat the
default in LIVE mode.DC-PW small red lightonthe
righttopwill alertsfor a second to showcamera start
up already.Butcamera screenisremainingdarkuntil
either DISPLAYorPREVIEWkeyispressed.Inthiscase,
youcaneither change any settingofcamera, view
pictures,take apicture manually,download picturesto
PC. Whenyoudofinishusingthecamera,rememberto
turnthecamera OFFbypressingtheCAM-PW button
again.
Note: Duringcamera is ONmode manually,motion
sensorwill stop scanning.
DescriptionforCameraOperation Keys like Navigator Keys / FunctionKeys/ Menu Button,they are located in
theupper portionoftheinnerpanel. SeeFig.4
Thereare twomodesthat called DISPLAY(LIVEVIEW) and PREVIE (PLAY-BACK) foroperatingthe
camera.
Menu Key (OKKey)
Thekeybringupthemenu tabs under CAMERAisONmanually.Itisalsousedforaccepting a new change.
Allcamerasettingswillbe programmed with 2 titles of setting tabs.
Navigator Disk
Fourside keys representforthe Left/ Right/ Up/ Down. Select atitle thatyouwish tochange by
pressingtheleftorrightnavigatorkey.Highlightyourchoicefromanitemunder the displayingtitle bytheUp
orDownKey.Press the RIGHT to enter further options and change it withUP/DOWNkeys. And press OKto
confirm. After finishasetting,quit tothemainscreen bypushingLEFT key.
More Function Keys
Shotkey:Itis usedfor takingpicture orvideo mamaully inLIVEmode andPlay-Back mediafilesin
PREVIEW mode. Push ittotakeapicture at anytimewhile camera startup manually even TFT screen stillis
remainingOFF (screenis always OFFbydefault) .Fortakingavideoclip manually, your 1st press SHOTto start
taking,astopwatch counter will work andpressagaintostop.
Preview key: (Play-Back)
PressPREVIEWkey, camerawillbeswitchedto Play-Backmode andshowthelastimage.Itisalsoa
springboard to skip between LiveViewandPlay-Backmode.DuringinPlay-Backmode, theDISPLAYkey
become as a springboardfor Enlarge Viewan image vs Thumbnail pictures /videos. So,you have twowaysto
enjoy andsearch entire images/videos.
Display key : (Live)
Press it toturnonthescreenforLIVEmode,thenpressit repeatedly to changeformorestatuslike turnON
screen> CleanUpScreen > Resumeinformationon screen.
Soundkey:
It isaKEYthatyou wanttorecord adiary voicememo oncameramanually,push thistoggle keyto switch
between camera andsoundrecordermode instantly.
MenuTitle (2 Tabs) for CameraOperating Modes
Thereare twomainmenus.Once camera isON manually,press MENUkey to access the setting menu that
consist 2 titles: A. SystemSetup Mode;B. WorkingOption Mode. BothLiveView andPlay-Backmenus are
including their related titleswhich described asbelow:
A. SystemSetup Mode
PressMENU toenter toWorkingOptionMode firstly, andthen press the RIGHT key,youwill enter to
SystemSetup Mode, see theitemsbelowby pressingDOWNkey. Then,enterto further options change by
pressingtheRIGHT key,push theMENUkeytoconfirmachange.Finally,press LEFT toquit themenu. Ifyou
wantto skip to the CurrentWorkingMode, press theUPkey tothetop ofmenu, then, press LEFT to
highlight the Working ModeTab. See theoptionson SystemSetupTab asbelow:

CameraMode :DefaultisIRFlash. Thismodel doesnotsupportStrobeFlash. So,alwaysignorethisoption.
DateandtimeSetting
Updatewithyourlocal timefirstlyhere. After enteringtothe option,press Rightkey to move theHigh light
forcalendar pattern andchangeit by UporDOWNkey.PressMenu to accept.
Format
After proceed thisfunction,everythingsin thecard willremovedcompletely.Becareful beforeproceeding.
Time Lapse Operation:
You canactivate the Timelapsefunctionduringanyscoutingperiod.It willworkfineday andnightby
slidingtheTurboswitchtoTimeLapseONandenable theTimeLapseoptionin thecamera menusetting.
Camerawill take shotsautomacticallyaccordingtothefurtherprogrammingintheTimeLapsesettings.The
TimeLapseeventwill start torunsince onescountingimagetobetaken.Therefore,besureyouhave to
trigger the1st shotbyyourself before leavingfrom thesite.Otherwiseitwill betriggered tostartupbyanimal.
Further settingsforTime Lapse
Once you enabletheTimeLapsesetting,you will havetwofurtheroptionsforconfig asbelow:
Interval: Adjustthedefaut5secondsforyourdesiredperiodictime.Thecamerawill take shotsrepeatly
accordingtoyourupdate.Anadjustable intervalset willbefrom1secondto23:59:59
Important: Timelapse capture event will be alwaysinterruptedduringday /nighttransitionandwill be
resumedafterthe1st onescoutingeventistriggered duringeach transition.
Capacity: You canlimitaMaximumtotal shotsforamission.More shotswillbe created foralongerTime
LapseVideo.AMax. capturecapacitywill be99,999shots.
Research QTYofTimeLapsecaptured
TurnonCameramanually,enterto theCapacitySettingofTimeLapseoption.Thefirstdata lineisshowing
howmanyimagesare captured.Thisresult willbeerased once youturntheTimeLapsefunctiontoOFFinthe
system menu.Otherwise,thiscounter will continuewhen thecamera resumefortheTimeLapsemission.
ViewImages fromTime Lapsemission
TouchthePREVIEWkey after turnonCameramanually,youwill seethelastscoutingimage usually.Press
RIGHT key once,the previewmode willbechanged forviewingthelastimageoftimelapsemission. In case
you wanttoviewbackthescoutingimageor video,youhave toquit andturn on thecamera again.Touchthe
LEFTkey toreviewallscoutingimageswhenyouarealready atPREVIEW mode.
CreateATimeLapse Video:
Allofimagesarerequired to inporttoatimelapsesoftwareforconvertingavideo.Thereare manychoices
fromweb-sitesoryoucandownload fromourrecommendedwebforafreeware.Youcan trytogetthe

B. Working Option Mode
Youhavetwo ways that enteringtothisworkingoptionmode.Whenyoupress MENUkeywhile camera is
ONmanually,oryou will donot highlight anyiteminSystemSettingMenu andpress theLEFTfortheWorking
OptionMode.In thismode,youwill finddifferenceoptionsdependonyouarecurrently atPIC orVIDEOstatus
Single(Picture)Mode: There are several itemsbelowby pressingDOWNkey:

Video Mode
Highlight the Video tochange by pressing MENU key.Once the VIDEO modeisselected,theunit willtake
video clips.Since a1st eventisrecorded,avideo-camicon willappear in thescoutingLCD to show that you are
in videomode.
IncaseyouwouldswitchbackforSinglePicture mode,justturnONcamera by pressingCAM-PW manually,
then change thePICTUREfrom themenu. PressOKkeyto accept the SINGLE Mode. Then,remember to re-
boottheunit byturn off themainPW andbackON.Youwill see theVideo-camicondisappear. Otherwise,the
camerawill notwork properly w/oarebootprocess.

VOICEMEMOMode
Thecameraprovide agoodfeature foruserswhowouldliketo recordavoice message at anytime,
anywhere againstsomethingtorecordbyvoice like atrail scenewith adetailsdescription;ahunting
experience;areminderforhunting;adiaryforevery day etc.
To do forarecording,you mustturnONthecamera,then enterto the VoiceRECMode bypressing
SOUNDkey.After finishedoperationwithanyvoice options, justswitch backtothepreviouscamerastage by
pressingSOUNDagain.
ToRecord:Press SHOTkey onceforstartingavoicerecording.Then,astop-watchstart tocounta time
ofthecurrentrecording.PressSHOT againtostopthisrecordingandarestofmemory onthetopleftcorner
willrenew immediately.
Play-back:Press PREVIEWkey tothePlay-Backmode,thelastmessage isselected.Youcanrewindto a
previousdesiredvoicememoby LEFT anduseRIGHTkey forthenewer voice.Press SHOTkeytoplay back
thedesiredmessage.Press theLIVEkeyformorevoicefiles, youcanlisten all voiceclipsonebyone

ProtectanImageor Video
Duringviewingan imageorvideowhichyouwould liketo retain inthememorywithoutwash-outbydelete
processing,press MENUandhighlightthe LOCK optiononce.Then an iconwithsmalllockonthelefttop
cornerofthisimage toshowit isprotected.Repeat thesameprocessingtounlockit. All ofprotected itemswill
notbedeletedexceptyoutry toformat thememory media.
Using a SD card
Thisunit requireaSDcardtoworkand support upto 32G SDHCSD card. Be suretheMainPW SwitchisOFF
beforereplacing a SD card inorder tominimizeariskto damageyour SD cardorloss data partially. Before
usingablanknew SD card,or ever been usedinothercameras,it issuggested toformat it before usage. So,
youneed todownloadall ofexistingfilestoPC beforeusingit inthiscamera.Otherwise,camerawill notsave
pictureandvideoin the defaultdirectory properly.
Important:Ifa SD card cannotbeinserted smoothly,you mustretractitandcheckifthe
directionofcardiscorrector not.Never forcetopushhardlywith the card.Mostofcase witha
problem withcardusageisfound thatcausedbyan improperinsertion.
Downloading photos/ Movies toyour computer
PressCAM-PW toturn thecameraON manually.Connect yourcomputer andthecamerawith theattached USB
cable.

operation asusual.Battery will never been drained. Onlysincethe solarpowergoesto OFF w/oanycharging

idealforremainingthescoutingsettingsevenno more powersupplied from Solar storage component. So,a

It isn’ta matter there aresomedaysduring cloudy whether becausean equippedhighcapacity storage
power componentwillsupportthiscamerato workformanydaysorathousandshots andvideos afterone
timeoffullycharged.
Inafewcasesyoucannotfindaproperplacetoinstallthesolarpanel,youdo notneedto connect the
Solarpanel inthiscase.Thebackupbattery willworksasamain powersource.Itwillalso supportthecamera
toworkforafewmonthsasanyothertraditional huntingcameraw/oproblem.
Caution: Never closethefrontcabinet while youarechargingwithacellphonecharger.Itmightdamagethe
homechargeport easily.
CONNECTExternal Infra-RedBooster
For anexperienceduser,youalwayswould expect togetextremequality picturesandvideosatnight.
WildSpyCam does providean option “Ext-IRBOOSTER that youcanbuy external IR boosters IRX-810 to
fulfill yourin-need. (850nm modelof WildSpotFlash series).Thusyou getabout2~4X higher illumination
dependonanumberofboostersyou will configure. Ifyou wantto upgradethecamera tobeatotallyinvisible
blackIR system, another invisible 950nm IRbooster series like IRX-20BorIRX-22B foradvance upgraded.
Forfurtheroption, youcanchooseIRX-22BWwirelessboosterthatyoucan allocate manyboostersnearthe
targetandthey aretriggered through radio frequencysynchronously with thecamera.
Troubleshooting Guide
No animal showinginsomepictures:
1. Check iftheunitispointedthedirectionwhere thesun isrisingorsunsetthatthesensormight
be triggered.
2. ThePIRsensormaydetect an animalsthroughvegetationoutofviewfrom thecamera.
3. Iftheanimalwasmovingquickly,cameramay notcapture itintimewhile ananimal movedout
of thezone.
4. Make sure thattheunit ismounted onasteady treeorother place thatdoesnotwobble.
TheCameraIn-Use lightisremaining ON,butthecameradoes notrespond:
1. Thecameramaybe time-out w/o anykey-in andshutdownautomatically orCameradoeshangup.
Turn off Cameraandbackonafter 5seconds to resumethecamera operationortry torebootthe
system.
2. Maybe too manyimagefilesintheSDcard,more fileswill causealongerinitializingtimesandcamera
will delay torespondyourkey in. You can removeallofthefilestocomputer.
3. You attempt to backonagainthecamera instantlyafter justturn off camera.Usually,it issuggestedto
backon thecamera after 5secondsofa previous shutdowneventwasdoneifyou wanttoresume
cameraoperation.
The CameraStatusSmalllight doesnotrespond while CameraIn-Use light is ON:
Ifyou installeda large capacity SDcard withahuge quantity media filesinside,attempt to press eitherkey in
theCamera portion after the CameraIn-Uselight is ON. Needtowait forabout a few secondsuntil the SD
card tobe doneforinitializingatstart up.More media contentswilltake more longerto wait.
TheLightinthefrontofthehousing doesremainON:
1. TheunitjustissetforWalk-Testmode.Thelight still remainsON steady within 60swarmingupperiod.
2. The CAM-PWisnot switchedto OFF.Remember to turn camera OFFafterfinished cameraoperation.
CameraseemsNOTwrite anypictureintomy “Empty SD”cardand displayed withMemory Full:

1. You mustformatthe SD card whichwaseverused intheotherdevice beforeapplyingit inthiscamera.
2. Checkthecurrent SD card andtry to use abrandNew SD card insteadofyourcurrent SD.
No TimeLapse Imagesinthefolderafter sometime
Check if thepositionoftheTriggerSwitch to TimeLapseorNot.Be sure you had been enable theTimeLapse
Function intheCamera settingmenu, and,triggerafirsteventbyyourselfbefore leavingorexpect toactivate
timelapseimmediately.
Observed theSolarstorageelectric isfull fromlevelmemter,butunitdidnotresponse:
1. Pressandhold Solar PWfor2sto turnONthesolar power storagecircuit.
2. Attempt tore-chargeby ageneral Android smartphonecharger.
WhyIcouldnotreview my lastshotand sawother imagesseemsfromTime-Lapse?
Backon thecamera andentertopreviewmode,then,you are viewingthelastshotfromscoutingmode.
PresstheLEFT key immediately to view otherpreviousscountingshots. In casepress theRIGHTkey,you will
viewthelastimageofTime-Lapse.Onlyawaytoscoutingmodeshouldbebackon thecamera.
Reset theUnitoutofSystemHalt:
Incasetheeventcounter does stoptorespondforanysensing,oryou noticethe scouting LCDisalways
blankeven thePowerswitchisON,thesystemmayhalt already tocausetheproblem.Removeall batteries
outof compartmentformore than 10minutesinorder to discharge theunit. Theunit will resumeto the
factory defaultsettings.Youwill needtoreprogramwith yourdesired parameters again before use.
