Thankyoufor purchasingthe WildSpyCam. Thisunithasbeendesignedfor friendly used, plug and
play operation. Witha built-in4MGpicturequalitydigitalcameraina water proof casefor outdoor
installation, theunitis ideal for widerangeapplications suchas Animaltrail, Hunting trial, Home
security, Warehousemonitoring as asurveillance device. Itis great for anentryleveluser whojustpay
affordableexpensesto enjoy adigitalgamecamerainthefirsttime. Itcanbetriggeredbyanymovement
ofliveanimalsor humaninalocation, detectedbyahighly sensitivePassive Infra-Red(PIR) motion
sensor, andtakeacaptureinstantly andkeeprecordintheeventcounter. Thosecollectedeventdatais
usefulto letyoustudytheir activity withinaspecifiedperiod. Youmayset the eventsensor activity in
daytime;after sunsetor 24 hours. Thedevice will keep all events inmemoryanddisplaythemfroa low
temperatureLCD. ThisWildSpyCamcan take 4Mpixels pictures or 3~90 seconds of AVI movies
whichstoredin16Minternalflashmemoryor an external CFmemorycard. Inorder to simplify the
operation, thecontrolsaredividedinto twosections, DigitalCameraControlsectionandMotionSensor
Controlsection. Settingandoperating for thedigitalcameraissimilar to operate as manytraditional
digitalcamerasthatyou are alreadyfamiliar with. The 1.6 color screen ontop allowsyouto view
picturesinthefield andprogramfor many cameraoptions. Another small LCD onthelower displays all
scouting settings directly and monitor thecurrent scoutingstatus, eventcounts, aswell as battery
capacity. Push buttonsonupper portionare used for operationofcameraoptions, other buttonsinlower
portion are used correspondingto eachscouting settingchangeindividually. Twobatterysupply system
canableto retainall scoutingparametersfor averylongtimeevencamerapower isdeadinthefield. It
isidealfor nolonger to worryaboutlostanyparameterssettingduringeither bankofbatteryarebador
replacement.

2Preparation
2.1 Youshouldsavethe packingmaterial
andgiftbox thatincase youshouldrequire
to shipthisunit.
1. Pushthepower switchto OFF (Center). Openthetopcover bypull up thelatches.
2. Install 3pcsUM-2 (Ctype) size Alkaline batteries into the rightof batterycompartment for
scoutingsensor operation
3. Install 4pcsDtype Alkaline batteriesto the leftof compartment for Cameraoperation. Pay
attentionto thebatterypolarityaccordingto markingonthecompartmentbecause2pcsareinparalleled
installed
4. Install CFcard: Thesystemwill support Max4GCFcard. Insert a CFcardaccordingto direction
shown onpanel. TheCF'cardtrademark mustbe faced up.
5. Removetheprotectivesheetsfromthe flash lens;CameralensandPIR(motionsensor ) fresnel
lens.
CAUTION: BeforereplacingaCFcard, besurethePWswitchis already atOFF positioninorder to
avoidthedata inthecardmightbeflushed.
2.2Quick Start
Aneasywaybelowto tell youstepbystep for getting aquickstart with the WildSpy Camera, it will
rununder the factory default ifyoudonot change anyparameters. Whenthe device does exitfrom
settingmode or no key-in since PWON, itwill goesto the scouting operationmode automatically after
30 seconds. Thatmeanswhenananimalor humanisdetected, aneventwill berecordedandthecamera
will shot immediately. Theeventcounter will berenewed atonce.
1. Pushthemainpower switchwhichisallocatedinthebottomofcabinetto ON
2. Calendar Setting: Setdateandtime to updatetheCurrenttime.
3. Chooseeither Pictureor Video asyour desiredcapturing mode.(See theparagraphbelowfor “Date
andtime Setting ;Still Picture/VideoMode)
4. Turnthesensor gain(sensitivity) control to theMax.
5. Mount theunitonasteadytree around0.5-1meter heightthatpointto thezonewhichyouwishto
monitor or justputitontablefor atrialtestonly
6. PushthemainPWswitchto TEST andwalkinfrontofmotionsensor inorder to verifyhowmuch
distance andazone which youwill bedetectedaccordingto theflashingwalk-test light.
7. Push PW back to ON andleave. Nowthe scouting camerawill bereadyto work after 60seconds of
warm-up time.
CAUTION: Beforeleft, besureto doublecheckthelatchesifthedoor isclosedcompletely

suggestedto customize your settings ifyouarean experience user.
3ADVANCEDOPERATION withUser’sSetting
Everytimesyouwantto changefor anewsettingduringanormalscoutingoperation, youmustswitch
OFF themainPower andback ON. Whileswitch the main PWto ON, the lower LCDshows the current
settings andtheupper color screenisalwaysOFF. Nowyoucanableto programwithyour desired
parameters insteadof thesystem default for motionsensingoperation.
Caution: All keys seems nofunctiontemporarily ifaneventisbeingprocessing or afewsecondsafter
justpower up. IfyouswitchOFF for themainPWat anytime, theWildSpyCamwill waitfor the
currenteventto bedoneandgoesto OFF later.
Settingfor MotionSensor Operation(PIR Sensor)
3-1 Select WORK for Day, Nightor24 hours period
Youmaydefinea specified period for thesensor to detectaneventbypushingtheWORKbutton. A
correspondingiconwill flashfor your choose. Thenpress OK/DELkeyto confirm. Therearethree
periodto beselectedasDAY;NIGHT;24 Hours whicharerepresentedbytheSUN;MOON;CLOCK
icons.
3-2SelectforQ-SHOT ( QuickShot)
Push Q-SHOT, thecurrentsettingwill beflashingonLCD, press onemoretimeto changefor your
desired number ofshot during anevent. TheMaxshots will be available up to 3times within each event.
Intervalofeachshot will be about20 seconds. An intervaltimesmaybelonger atnightdependingonthe
charging timeof FLASHER.
3-3 Event Pause
This isatime lapsebetweenthemotionsensor doesableto detecteventagainafter thepreviousevent.
Thesensor will not workwithinthetimelapse. Youcanselect01, 03, 05, 10, 20, 30, 45, 60, 00
minutes for a PAUSE option.Press thePAUSE buttononce to enter for setting, Thedefault01 will
beblinking. Press againto change it until the desired choice appears. Press OK/DEL onright to
accept it.
CAUTION: WithinthePAUSE period, thereisnoananimationontheradar icon.
3-4 Movie Recording Length:
ThePAUSE keyissharedfor twofunctions. Oneisexplainedasabove. Thesecond optionwill letyou
define howlong to take eachvideo. Press andholdPAUSE keyfor 3seconds, avideocameraiconwill
be blinking. Press onemoretimeto changefor your desiredtimeofrecordingfrom3-90 seconds. Press
OK/DELkeyto confirm. Thissettingwill beeffective only when youalreadysetthecapturemode for
VIDEO. See thedescriptioninthe chapter of ShootingwithMovieMode below.
3-5 OK/DEL
Itisakey for shared with twofunctions. Anytimeyouhavedone for programmingof theWORK,
Q-SHOT andPAUSE /VideoLength, justpress theOK/DELkeyto accept a newchange. Ontheother
hand, press andholdit with3seconds, itperformthe CLEAR function to renew all event countsto be
[000]. Butitisnot effectto any imageor video contentsinthecameramemory
3-6 BatteryCheck
Two iconsarefor difference batterybanks. TheBat-iconontheupper rightcorner isrepresentedfor
motionsensor power. Thesecondonthe lower isfor camera and IRflashpower. All Bat-icons will
indicatethree statusasbelow:
GOOD: BatteryIconshow with solid.
LOW: BatteryIconishalfblank.
BAD: Batteryicon istotally blank. Inthiscase, theLightingFlashiconwill bealsodisappear. Itdoes
alertthatyoumustreplace themwithnewbatteriesimmediately. Camerawill not workatnight under
thisbatterybadcondition.
Caution: Ifyounotice oneofabankisbad, you just haveto replace all batteries with blanknew
completely againstthecorrespondingbatterybank. Donot tryto replace someofthemonly. Buttwo
batterybanksare independentto eachother inthe system. Soyoudonot needto replace for theother
batterybank. Normally, thebatteriesfor PIRsensor will lastmorethan4-6monthsifthebatteryquality
isgood. After replacedeither batterybank, remember to re-boot thedevice bythemainPWswitch.

3-7 SensitivityAdjustment
The DISTANCE dialoninner panelisusedfor adjustingsensitivityofthemotion sensor (GainControl).
Byturningthedialto theright, sensor sensitivityissetto theMaxto detectanimalover 50 feetaway.
Youmayreduce thedetectiondistance for takingpicturewithalarger animaltarget.
Caution: Itisrecommendedto set MAX inwarmer environmentlikeinthesummer time.
3-8 Operation Modes
After finishedaboveinitialized installation, nowthedevice isreadyto detect for anevent. Firstly you
haveto mounttheunitfirmly onasuitableplace likeonatree byastrap.
The mode switch is inthe lower ofcabinet. Therearethree modesto beselectedunder difference
operation.
3-8-1 PW-ON Mode
TheWildSpyCamwill bealwaysrequiredworkingunder thismode. Since thePW-SWispushedto
ON mode, the motionsensor will beginto warmsup for 1minute, thenstartto detectmotionfor taking
pictures/Video.
3-8-2 PW-OFF Mode
SlidethePWto thecenter positionto turnthesystempower OFF. All picturesandcurrentsettings as
well aseventcounts will beretainedatthismode andinternal realtimeclockwill still run.
Caution: Remember to removeall batteriesincaseyouwill nolonger to useitinorder to avoid the
metalterminalsto beoxidizeddueto theleakagecurrentfrombatteryitself.
3-8-3 WALK-TEST Mode
Walk-Test Mode isusedto verifythedetectionrangeandpointing zone beforeplacingitinthefield.
After mountedtheunitonatree, pushthePWswitchto Walk-TEST. TheWalk-TestLEDwill lightup
last1minuteto warmup. Aradar animation iconwithTEST alertisremainingblinkingduring
Walk-Testmode. Then, Walk-TestLightwill goesoff andwill alertwith3timesflashing once youwill
bedetectedinfrontofthedevice. Nowyoutryto gofar awayto checkhowlongthePIRmotionsensor
will still see you. Thecameradoesnot takeanypictureduringthistestprocess.
Note:Thesystemwill resume to normal Scouting ON DUTY modeautomatically after 3minutes
(Time-Out) since nolonger detection ofwalk-testto betriggeredinorder to avoiduser might forgetto
pushthePWswitchbackto ON before heleft.
3-9 Walk-Test LED+ DC In-Use Indicator
Bothlightswill beON during the firstminuteof Walk-Testmode warm-up andCamerasettingmode.
Theywill blinkfor 3timesonce awalk-testmotion is detected.
Inthe PIR scoutingsettingmode, an instantflashisresponseto eachvalidkeyinput.
3-10 EventCountDisplay
Withinaspecifiedworkingperiod,whenananimalorhumanisclosing to thetrail monitor,anevent
will berecordedandthe digital camerawill takeapictureautomatically.Amaxcount will be up to 400
Youwill be alertedwithablinking signal continually with “FULL”in LCD, and the digits 400 will be
flashing. InthiscasethePIRsensorandcamerawill still workforsensing andtakingimageseventhe
eventcountreachto FULL.
3-11 DeleteEvents
Press OK/DELkeyandholdfor 3secondsto deleteall records. TheTOTALEVENTSwill be
flashingfor 2secondsto confirmyouthat thecounter to berenewsuccessfully.
3-12 TurboShot
ThereisswitchknobontherightofthescoutingLCD. Slide the TriggerTime switchto FAST mode,
theDCwill besetfor thefastest speedfor shooting. Inthismode, capturespeedwill be1.3secondthat
doublefaster thanthesettingintheBAT-Savewhileamotionisdetected. SettingofBAT_SAVE will be
idealfor extendingbatterylife. Incaseyouexpectto resumetheFAST modeto beBat-Save, slidethe
knobfor BAT-SAVE andthenreboot theDevice.
Caution: DuringtheFAST modeisactivated, you will not beableto turnonthecamerabypressing
CAM-PWkey anytime exceptrebootingthedevice.
3-13 FlasherOperation
TheinternalFLASHERwill workandto be charged after anightshootingautomatically atnight. It
will not workandnot bechargedindaytime. Anormalchargingtimewill betaken20~ 30 seconds. The
FlashicononthescoutingLCDwill beblinkingslowly duringcharging.
Ifthebatterybecometoo weakto causeachargingtimemaybelonger then60 secondsand, the
chargingprocessingwill bestoppedautomatically andthedigitalcamerawill nolonger to takepictureat
nighttimetill to replace newbatteries. TheFLASHERwithinhibitsymbolonthescoutingLCDwill
becomewithfaster blinking. Butthecameramaystill working atdaytimeevenbatteryis bad.

3-15-1TurnCameraON: Before turnON thecamera, besure the MainPower switchatON position
andwaitfor 10 secondsafter Power UP. Press CAM_PWonce, BoththeIN-USE andWalk-TestLED
arelighted. Thecamerastatus small lightonthetopright corner will alerts withredlight for 2seconds
to showcameraisPWON already. Camera will startto worksatthedefaultoftheLIVE VIEW mode.
Butcamerascreenisremaining blackuntil either DISPLAYor PREVIEWkeyispressed. Therearetwo
modesthatcalled LIVE VIEWand PREVIEW for cameraOPERATION. In either modes, youcan
changeasettingofcamera, previewpictures, takeapicturemanually, downloadpicturesto PC.
3-15-2TurnCameraOFF: Whenyoudid finishusingthecamera, remember to turnthecameraOFF by
pressingtheCAM-PWswitchagain.
Caution: DuringcameraON period, motionsensor will stop sensinguntil CAM-PWisturnedto OFF.
3-16 NavigatorKeys /Menu Button Usage:
Four directional keys representfor the Left /Right /Up/Downkeys. Thecenter knobisthe MENU
button. All camera settingswill beprogrammed with them. Press theMENU to displaythe optiontitleof
modes. Select a titlethatyouwishto changebypressingtheleftor rightnavigator key. Highlightyour
choice fromapull down listof the displaying titlebytheUp or DownKey. Press theMENU to accept
thechange andexit.

A-1 Display key:

WiththeLive displaymode, itisusedfor amanualshot or changesettingofcameraparameterslike
selectingpicture/videomode;resolution; imagequality;calendar stamp;firmwareupgrade…..

SHOT key :
Push it once to takeapictureanytimewhilecameraisON whatever the screen is OFF or ON. For
takingavideoclip, press SHOT to starttaking, astopwatchcounter will workandpress againto stop.
FLASHKey : TurntheFLASHER on/off duringyouwouldliketo takeapicturemanually. Itisa
toggleswitchbutton. Theflasher statuswill beindicatedonthetopright corner ofthescreen.

Thesystemdefaultsettingis Single Still PictureModefor capturingcolorfulimagesatdayand night.
Once themotionsensor doesdetectamotion, camerawill snapitinto thememory. Scouting EVENT
counter will renewthereadingafter eachevent.
A-4-2 VideoMode(TakingaPicture)
Move thehighlightto Videoandpress MENU key, nowtheVIDEOmodeisselected. Theunit will
takevideoclipsat daytimeonly. Since aneventisrecorded, avideo-camiconwill appearinthe
lower scoutingLCDthat to alteryouareinvideomodenow.
Incaseyouwould switchbackforSinglePicturemode, it isrequiredto restarttheWildSpyCamand
turnON camerabypressingCAM-PW, thenhighlightthe SINGLEfromCaptureTitle.
Important: Iftheunitdetectsthecamerabatterybankbecomingtoo weakandablankbatteryicon
appear, WildSpyCam will stoptakingpicturesatnighttime. Butitcanstill takedaytimepicturesor
video.
A-4-3 Resolution
You canchooseadesiredmegapixelsfrom1.3Mp/2Mp/3Mp/7MpbyUPandDOWNkey.
A-4-4Quality
ThisoptionisdefinedtheJPEGfilecompression. Highmeansanimagefilewill belarger under better
qualityofimage.
A-4-5DateandTimeSetting
Since youarethefirsttimeto useWildSpyCam, itisrequiredto updatewithyour localtime. Ineither
ofmodessince CAM-PWpower ON, press theMENU keyto viewthecamerasettingmenu. ThenPress
Rightkeyto findDate/Timetitles. Highlight “SET”byusing theDOWNkey. Pushthecenter “MENU”
buttonto displaytheCalendar andmovethecursor stayingatthedesireditembyRIGHT or LEFT
buttonandchangethemwiththeUPor Downuntil to finish. Press Menuto acceptwithYES.
Caution: Thecalendar isshown inmilitaryfashionwith24 hour format.Example:2:00 pmwill be
shownas14:00.00.(Hour:Minute:Second)
StampON/OFF
ToggletheStampoptionON/OFF to showwhatever thecalendar onall imagesor not. Butthis
featurewill not functioninvideomode.
B Preview Mode :
B-1 View Images
Everytimesyouwantto viewimagesonthecolor screenor TVsetduringascoutingmode, youmust
switchOFF themainPower andbackON andthenpress CAM-PW. While cameraisON andpress
PREVIEWkey, Camerawill beswitchedto Previewmodeatonce andshowthelastimage. Itisalsoa
toggle buttonletyouskipbetweenLiveViewvsPreviewmode. DuringinPreviewmode, theDISPLAY
keybecomefor skippingFull Viewofanimage>Cleanscreen>>Thumbnail pictures.
B-1-1.View Image/VideowithTV
TheRCAendisplugged intheTVVideo-Inofyour TV. ToviewpicturesonTVset, the
cameraisrequiredinPreviewmode. Ifyoupull outtheTVcable, thedigitalcamerawill switch
to theinternalviewingscreendisplayautomatically.
Caution: Thelastpicturetakenwill bethefirstto appear andwill includeadisplayofthetotalnumber
ofpicturesstoredandthenumber ofthisframe. Example:0024/0036 isthe24th pictureofatotalof36
pictures.

Duringviewingenlarged1:1imagesorvideos, press DISPLAY key to cleartheOnScreen

Whenever inthelivedisplaymodeor viewingafull size pictureatPreviewmode, press theUPkeyto
ZoomInandtheDOWNkeyto ZoomOutfor a closershoot manually or see moredetailswhen
enjoyinganimage.

After proceedthisfunction, all filesintheentirecardandinternalflashmemorywill beremoved
completely. Be carefulto savethefilesto PCbeforeyoutryto doit.

Itisusedto definewhatTVsystemissetfor matchingyour TVset.
Caution:Incaseyour TVisoutofoptionsoftheWildSpyCamlisting, youhaveto changeyour TVset

Thisoptionisdefinedwhichanuser interface methodwill bechosenfor downloadingfilesto PC.
Thereisnoneedto changethedefault “MSDC”whichalreadycompatiblefor mostusers.

4Installing Driver/DownLoad Image/FW Upgrade
Once the firsttimethatyouconnectthecamerato computer, PC will detectanewUSBdevice has
beenconnected andtryto lookingfor adriver. Sothat, youarerequiredto runtheattachedCD-ROM
for installingaproper driver firstly beforeconnectingUSBcable. Followtheinstructionsto completethe
driver andsoftwareinstallation.
4-1InstallingUSBDriver
Since theCD-Romisinserted, anauto-runwill showa pop up installationmenu. Ifyour computer
doesnot runthesetup programautomatically, pleaserun"SETUP"fileunder root directoryofthe
CD-Rom. Then, clicktheDRIVERbuttononthepopup window. Followtheinstructionuntil to
completeitself.
Caution: Everytimesyouwantto viewor downloadimages, itisrequiredto re-boot thedevice before
proceedingwhenyoujustterminateascoutingmission.
4-2Installing Photo EditingSoftware
Therearetwosimplephoto /videoeditingsoftwarefor entryleveluser. Youmayskipthisoptionand
exitdirectly ifyoualready haveother existingor better softwarefor viewingthepicturesor videos.
-InserttheinstallationCD. Click “Photo Express “ButtonontheWelcomeScreen.
-Choosetheoperationlanguagewhichyouneed.
-Install thesoftwareaccordingto hints.
-Restartyour PC.

-Be surethedriver hasbeeninstalledsuccessfully. Press CAM-PWto turnthecamera ON, thenpress
PREVIEWto viewanimage.
-Connectyour computer andthecamerabyanattached USBcable.
-Apopupto showthemobileharddiskwhichis assigned for theremovabledevice. Click
into theproper directoryto see all filesinside.
-For example:X:\DCIM\100IMAGE\ for ImageandVideofiles. X:\MP3\ for Voice
Memofiles.
4-4 FirmwareUpgrade/PC-CAM
-WildSpyCam provide anoptionthatuser canableto upgradewiththenewestFirmwareifneed. This
processingisrequiredthecameraisturnedON for theLiveViewmodeandaspecifiedFWfileoffered
byyour dealer ;distributor or downloadfrom manufacturer sweb-site. Youhaveto runtheUpgrade
programfirstly thenplug intheUSBto cameravsPC. Thescreenwill show “PC-CAM”, followthe
instructionsinthepop-up windowto do. Reboot thedevice to finishtheupgradeprocessing. Ifyouare
not readyto upgradewithanynewFirmware, your currentmodeisPC-CAMmodewhichWildSpyCam
doesbecomeatypicalPCcameraatthismode.
5UsingCF card:
WilsSpyCam has built-inwith 16Mb internal flash memory. Therefore, thecameracancapturefor
someimagesor videosimmediately evenno CF card intheslot. Infact, a 1G CF card isrecommended
to increase more storagecapacity that allow morethanafewthousandsofpicturesto besavedwhen
youwill leave it inthefield.
Caution: Be suretheMainPWSwitchis OFF beforereplacing a CF card inorder to minimize a risk
to damageyour CF card or loss datapartially. Thisdevice does support up to 4G CF card. Also, before
usingablanknewSDcard or usedinother cameras, itisalwayssuggested to format it beforeusage.
Important: If a CF cardcannot beinsertedsmoothly, youmustretractitandcheckifa directionof
card is correct or not. Never force to push ithardly. Mostofcaseswithaproblemwithcardusagewere
foundthatcausedbyanimproper insertion.
6MEMORY MANAGEMENT
Incaseeither built-inor CF cardmemoryisfull, amemoryFULL andCamera icons will beblinking
onthescoutingLCD. Thecamerawill stopto capture. ButPIRwill still sensingeventsinorder to let
youstill knowhowmanytotaleventsto berecordedevenwithoutimages. Replace anempty cardor
deletesomeor all contentsthenreboot theunitto refreshthememorystatus. After clear for free
memory, remember to re-boot thedevice bythemainPWswitch. Thecamerawill not resumeto work
withoutrebootingthesystem.
7MOUNTING DEVICE
Beforestartingto putthiscamerainthefieldfor
scoutinggame, thecameramustbemountedinacertain
place properly or onatree whosediameter will not be
less than6inch (15cm) andlocatednot higher than1M
withyour desiredmountingmethodthatfollowingthe
installationmethodasshownasbelow. Thedesignis
reservedto fitfor twowaysofmounting.
