play operation.Withabuilt-in6MGpicturequalitydigitalcamerainawater proofcasefor outdoor
installation, theunitisideal for widerangeapplications suchas Animaltrail, Hunting trial,Home
security,Warehousemonitoring as asurveillancedevice. Itis great for anentryleveluser whojustpay
affordableexpensestoenjoy adigitalgamecamerainthefirsttime. Itcanbetriggeredbyanymovement
ofliveanimalsor humaninalocation, detectedby ahighlysensitivePassive Infra-Red(PIR)motion
sensor, and takeacaptureinstantly andkeeprecord intheeventcounter. Thosecollectedeventdatais
usefultoletyoustudytheir activity withinaspecifiedperiod. You maysettheeventsensor activityin
daytime;aftersunsetor 24hours. Thedevicewillkeep all events inmemoryand displaythemfro alow
temperatureLCD.ThisWildSpyCamcantake 4M pixels pictures or 3~90 seconds of AVI movies
whichstoredin16Minternalflashmemoryor anexternalCFmemorycard. Inorder tosimplify the
operation, thecontrolsaredividedintotwosections, DigitalCameraControlsectionandMotionSensor
Controlsection.Setting and operating for thedigitalcameraissimilar tooperate as manytraditional
digitalcamerasthatyou are alreadyfamiliar with. Alarge 2.4 color screen ontop allowsyoutoview
picturesinthefield andprogramfor many cameraoptions. Another small LCD onthelower displays all
scouting settings directly and monitor thecurrent scouting status,eventcounts, aswell as battery
capacity. Push buttonsonupperportionare used for operationofcameraoptions, other buttonsinlower
portion are used corresponding toeachscouting setting changeindividually. Twobatterysupplysystem
canabletoretainallscoutingparametersfor averylongtimeevencamerapower isdeadinthefield.It
isidealfor nolonger toworryaboutlostanyparameterssettingduring either bank ofbatteryarebador
replacement.

2.1 Youshouldsavethe packing material

2.2QuickStart
Aneasywaybelowtotell youstepby step for getting aquickstart with the WildSpy Camera, it will
run under the factory default ifyoudonotchange any parameters. Whenthe device does exit from
settingmode or no key-in sincePWON, itwill goesto the scouting operationmode automaticallyafter
30seconds. Thatmeanswhenananimalor humanisdetected,aneventwillberecordedandthecamera
will shotimmediately. Theeventcounter will berenewed atonce.

2.Calendar Setting: Setdateand time toupdatetheCurrenttime.
3. Chooseeither Pictureor Video asyour desiredcapturing mode.(Seetheparagraphbelowfor “Date

4. Turnthesensor gain(sensitivity) control totheMax.
5. Mount theunitonasteadytreearound 0.5-1meter heightthatpointtothezonewhichyouwishto
monitor or justputitontablefor atrialtestonly
6. PushthemainPWswitchtoTEST and walkinfrontofmotionsensor inorder toverifyhowmuch
distanceand azone which youwill bedetectedaccording totheflashingwalk-test light.
7. Push PW back toON andleave. Nowthe scouting camerawillbereadyto work after 60 seconds of
warm-up time.

3 ADVANCEDOPERATION withUser’sSetting
Everytimesyou wanttochangefor anew setting duringanormalscoutingoperation, you mustswitch
OFF themainPower andbackON. Whileswitch the main PWtoON, the lower LCDshows the current
settings and theupper color screenisalwaysOFF. Nowyoucanabletoprogramwithyour desired
parameters insteadof thesystem default for motionsensing operation.
Caution: Allkeys seems nofunctiontemporarilyifaneventisbeing processing or afewsecondsafter
justpower up.Ifyou switchOFFfor themainPWat any time, theWildSpyCamwill waitfor the
currenteventtobedoneandgoestoOFFlater.
Settingfor MotionSensorOperation(PIR Sensor)
3-1 Select WORK for Day, Night or24hours period
Youmaydefineaspecifiedperiod for thesensor todetectaneventby pushingtheWORKbutton.A
correspondingiconwillflashfor your choose. ThenpressOK/DELkeytoconfirm. Therearethree
periodtobeselectedasDAY;NIGHT;24HourswhicharerepresentedbytheSUN;MOON;CLOCK
icons.
3-2SelectforQ-SHOT ( QuickShot)
Push Q-SHOT,thecurrentsetting will beflashingonLCD,pressonemoretimetochangefor your
desirednumber ofshotduring anevent.TheMaxshotswillbeavailableupto3timeswithineachevent.
Intervalofeachshotwill beabout20seconds.Anintervaltimesmaybelonger atnightdepending onthe
charging timeof FLASHER.
3-3Event Pause
Thisisatime lapsebetweenthemotionsensor doesabletodetecteventagainafter thepreviousevent.
Thesensor willnotwork withinthetimelapse. You canselect01, 03,05, 10, 20,30, 45,60, 00
minutes for a PAUSE option.PressthePAUSE buttononce to enter for setting, Thedefault01will
beblinking. Press againtochange it untilthe desired choice appears. Press OK/DEL onright to
accept it.
CAUTION: WithinthePAUSE period, thereisnoananimationontheradaricon.
3-4Movie Recording Length:
ThePAUSEkeyissharedfor twofunctions. Oneisexplainedasabove. Thesecond optionwillletyou
define howlong totake eachvideo. Press and holdPAUSE keyfor 3seconds,avideocameraiconwill
beblinking. Press onemoretimetochangefor your desiredtimeofrecording from3-90seconds.Press
OK/DELkeytoconfirm.Thissettingwillbeeffectiveonlywhenyou alreadysetthecapturemodefor
VIDEO.See thedescriptioninthe chapter of ShootingwithMovieMode below.
3-5 OK/DEL
Itisakeyfor shared with twofunctions. Anytimeyouhavedone for programming of theWORK,
Q-SHOT andPAUSE/VideoLength, justpress theOK/DELkeytoaccept a newchange. Ontheother
hand, pressand holdit with3seconds, itperformthe CLEAR function torenew allevent countsto be
[000]. Butitisnoteffecttoany imageor video contentsinthecameramemory
3-6 BatteryCheck
Two iconsarefor differencebatterybanks. TheBat-iconontheupper rightcorner isrepresentedfor
motionsensor power. Thesecond onthe lower isfor camera and IRflashpower. AllBat-icons will
indicatethree statusasbelow:
GOOD: BatteryIconshow with solid.
LOW: BatteryIconishalfblank.
BAD: Batteryicon istotallyblank. Inthiscase, theLighting Flashiconwillbealsodisappear. Itdoes
alertthatyou mustreplacethemwithnew batteriesimmediately. Camerawillnotworkatnightunder
thisbatterybadcondition.
Caution: Ifyounoticeoneofabank isbad, you just havetoreplaceall batteries with blank new
completely againstthecorresponding batterybank. Donottrytoreplacesomeofthemonly.Buttwo
batterybanksare independentto eachother inthe system. Soyou donotneedtoreplace for theother
batterybank. Normally,thebatteriesfor PIR sensor willlastmorethan4-6monthsifthebatteryquality
isgood. After replacedeither batterybank,remember tore-bootthedevicebythemainPWswitch.
3-7SensitivityAdjustment
The DISTANCE dialoninnerpanelisusedfor adjustingsensitivity ofthemotionsensor (GainControl).
Byturning thedialtotheright, sensor sensitivityissettotheMaxtodetectanimalover 50feetaway.
You mayreducethedetectiondistancefor taking picturewithalarger animaltarget.
Caution: Itisrecommended toset MAX inwarmerenvironmentlikeinthesummer time.
3-8 Operation Modes
After finishedaboveinitialized installation, nowthedeviceisreadyto detect for anevent. Firstly you
havetomounttheunitfirmlyonasuitableplacelikeonatreebyastrap.
Themode switch is inthe lower ofcabinet. Therearethree modestobeselectedunderdifference
operation.

3-8-1 PW-ONMode
TheWildSpyCamwillbealwaysrequiredworking under thismode. SincethePW-SWispushedto
ONmode, the motionsensor willbegintowarmsupfor 1 minute, thenstarttodetectmotionfor taking
pictures/Video.
3-8-2 PW-OFF Mode
SlidethePWtothecenter positiontoturnthesystempower OFF. Allpicturesand currentsettings as
wellaseventcounts will beretainedatthismode and internal realtimeclockwill still run.
Caution: Remember toremoveall batteriesincaseyouwill nolonger touseitinordertoavoid the
metalterminalstobeoxidizedduetotheleakagecurrentfrombatteryitself.
3-8-3 WALK-TEST Mode
Walk-Test Mode isusedtoverify thedetectionrangeand pointing zone beforeplacingitinthefield.
After mountedtheunitonatree,pushthePWswitchto Walk-TEST.TheWalk-TestLEDwilllightup
last1minutetowarmup. Aradar animation iconwithTEST alertisremainingblinking during
Walk-Testmode. Then, Walk-TestLightwillgoesoff and willalertwith3timesflashing onceyouwill
bedetectedinfrontofthedevice.Nowyou trytogofarawaytocheckhowlongthePIRmotionsensor
will still see you.Thecameradoesnottakeanypictureduringthistestprocess.
Note: Thesystemwill resume tonormal Scouting ON DUTY modeautomaticallyafter 3minutes
(Time-Out) since nolonger detection ofwalk-testto betriggeredinorder to avoidusermight forgetto
pushthePWswitchbacktoON before heleft.
3-9 Walk-Test LED+ DC In-Use Indicator
Bothlightswill beON during the firstminuteof Walk-Testmode warm-up andCamerasetting mode.
Theywill blinkfor 3timesonce awalk-test motion is detected.
Inthe PIR scouting settingmode,an instantflashisresponsetoeachvalidkeyinput.
3-10Event CountDisplay
Withinaspecifiedworking period,whenananimalorhumanisclosing tothetrail monitor,anevent
will berecorded and the digital camerawill takeapictureautomatically.Amaxcountwill beupto400
Youwillbealertedwithablinking signalcontinuallywith “FULL”inLCD,andthedigits400willbe
flashing.InthiscasethePIRsensorand camerawillstillwork for sensingand taking imageseventhe
eventcountreachtoFULL.
3-11DeleteEvents
PressOK/DEL keyandholdfor 3secondstodeleteall records.TheTOTALEVENTSwill be
flashing for 2secondstoconfirmyouthatthecounter toberenew successfully.
3-12TurboShot
Thereisswitchknobontherightofthescouting LCD. Slide the Trigger Time switchto FAST mode,
theDCwillbesetfor thefastest speedfor shooting.Inthismode, capturespeedwillbe1.3secondthat
doublefaster thanthesetting intheBAT-Savewhileamotionisdetected.Setting ofBAT_SAVE willbe
idealfor extending batterylife. Incaseyou expecttoresumetheFAST modetobeBat-Save,slidethe
knobfor BAT-SAVE andthenreboottheDevice.
Caution: DuringtheFAST modeisactivated,youwill notbeabletoturnonthecamerabypressing
CAM-PWkey anytime exceptrebootingthedevice.
3-13FlasherOperation
TheinternalFLASHERwill workand tobe charged after anightshootingautomaticallyatnight. It
will notwork andnotbechargedindaytime.Anormalcharging timewill betaken20~30seconds.The
Flashicononthescouting LCDwillbeblinkingslowlyduringcharging.
Ifthebatterybecometooweaktocauseachargingtimemaybelonger then60secondsand,the
charging processingwillbestoppedautomaticallyand thedigitalcamerawill nolonger totakepictureat
nighttimetilltoreplacenew batteries. TheFLASHERwithinhibitsymbolonthescouting LCDwill
becomewithfaster blinking. Butthecameramay still workingatdaytimeevenbatteryisbad.

3-15-1TurnCameraON: Before turnON thecamera,besure the MainPowerswitchatON position
and waitfor 10secondsafter PowerUP. Press CAM_PWonce, BoththeIN-USEand Walk-TestLED
arelighted. Thecamerastatus smalllightonthetop right corner willalerts withredlight for 2 seconds
toshowcameraisPWON already. CamerawillstarttoworksatthedefaultoftheLIVEVIEWmode.
Butcamerascreenisremaining blackuntil either DISPLAY or PREVIEWkeyispressed. Therearetwo
modesthatcalled LIVEVIEWandPREVIEW for cameraOPERATION. In either modes, you can
change a setting ofcamera, preview pictures, takeapicturemanually,downloadpicturestoPC.
3-15-2TurnCameraOFF: Whenyou did finishusing thecamera, remember toturn thecameraOFF by
pressingtheCAM-PWswitchagain.
Caution: During cameraON period, motionsensor willstop sensing until CAM-PWisturnedtoOFF.
3-16NavigatorKeys /MenuButton Usage:
Four directional keys representfor the Left /Right /Up /Downkeys. Thecenterknobisthe MENU
button. All camera settingswill beprogrammed with them. Press theMENU todisplaythe optiontitleof
modes. Select a titlethatyou wishtochangeby pressing theleftor rightnavigator key. Highlightyour
choice fromapulldownlistof the displaying titleby theUpor DownKey. Press theMENUtoaccept
thechange andexit.

Thesystemdefaultsettingis Single StillPictureModefor capturingcolorfulimagesatdayand night.
Once themotionsensor doesdetectamotion, camerawillsnapitintothememory. Scouting EVENT
counter willrenew thereadingaftereachevent.
A-4-2 VideoMode(TakingaPicture)
Movethehighlight toVideoandpress MENU key, now the VIDEOmodeisselected. Theunitwill
takevideoclipsatdaytimeonly.Sinceaneventisrecorded, avideo-camiconwillappearin the
lowerscoutingLCDthattoalteryouarein videomodenow.
IncaseyouwouldswitchbackforSingle Picturemode, itisrequiredtorestartthe WildSpyCam and
turnONcamerabypressingCAM-PW, thenhighlightthe SINGLEfrom CaptureTitle.
Important: Iftheunitdetectsthecamerabatterybank becomingtooweakand ablankbatteryicon
appear, WildSpyCam willstoptaking picturesatnighttime.Butitcanstilltakedaytimepicturesor
video.

Everytimesyouwanttoviewimagesonthecolor screenor TVsetduringascoutingmode, you must
switchOFFthemainPowerand backONandthenpress CAM-PW. While cameraisON andpress
PREVIEWkey,CamerawillbeswitchedtoPreviewmodeatonceand showthelastimage.Itisalsoa
toggle buttonletyou skipbetweenLiveViewvsPreview mode.During inPreview mode,theDISPLAY
keybecomefor skippingFull Viewofanimage>Cleanscreen>>Thumbnail pictures.

TheRCAend ispluggedintheTVVideo-Inofyour TV. Toview picturesonTVset, the
cameraisrequiredinPreview mode.Ifyoupull outtheTV cable,thedigitalcamerawillswitch
totheinternalviewing screendisplayautomatically.
Caution: Thelastpicturetakenwillbethefirsttoappear and will includeadisplayofthetotalnumber

4Installing Driver/DownLoadImage/FW Upgrade
Oncethe firsttimethatyou connectthecameratocomputer, PC will detectanew USBdevice has
beenconnected and trytolookingfor adriver. Sothat, you arerequiredtoruntheattachedCD-ROM
for installingaproper driver firstlybeforeconnecting USBcable. Followtheinstructionstocompletethe
driver and softwareinstallation.
4-1InstallingUSBDriver
SincetheCD-Romisinserted, anauto-run willshowa pop upinstallationmenu.Ifyour computer
doesnotrun thesetupprogramautomatically,pleaserun "SETUP"fileunderrootdirectoryofthe
CD-Rom. Then, clicktheDRIVERbuttononthepopupwindow.Followtheinstructionuntil to
completeitself.
Caution: Everytimesyouwanttoview or downloadimages,itisrequiredtore-bootthedevicebefore
proceeding whenyou justterminateascouting mission.

Therearetwosimplephoto/videoeditingsoftwarefor entryleveluser. You mayskipthisoptionand
exitdirectlyifyou alreadyhaveother existing or better softwarefor viewingthepicturesor videos.
-InserttheinstallationCD. Click “PhotoExpress “ButtonontheWelcomeScreen.
- Choosetheoperationlanguagewhichyou need.
- Install thesoftwareaccording tohints.
- Restartyour PC.

-Besurethedriverhasbeeninstalledsuccessfully. Press CAM-PWtoturnthecamera ON,thenpress
PREVIEWtoview animage.
-Connectyour computerand thecameraby anattached USBcable.
- Apopuptoshowthemobilehard diskwhichis assigned for theremovabledevice.Click
intotheproper directorytoseeallfilesinside.
- For example: X:\DCIM\100IMAGE\ for Image andVideofiles.X:\MP3\ for Voice
Memofiles.

-WildSpyCam provide anoptionthatuser canabletoupgradewiththenewestFirmwareifneed. This
processingisrequiredthecameraisturnedON for theLiveView modeand a specifiedFWfileoffered
by yourdealer;distributor or downloadfrom manufacturer sweb-site.YouhavetoruntheUpgrade
programfirstlythenplugintheUSBtocameravsPC. Thescreenwillshow “PC-CAM”,followthe
instructionsinthepop-upwindow todo. Rebootthedevicetofinishtheupgradeprocessing. Ifyouare
notreadytoupgradewithany new Firmware, your currentmodeisPC-CAM modewhichWildSpyCam
doesbecomeatypicalPCcameraatthismode.
5UsingCF card:
WilsSpyCam has built-inwith16Mb internal flash memory. Therefore, thecameracancapturefor
someimagesor videosimmediatelyevennoCF card intheslot. Infact,a1GCF card isrecommended
toincrease more storagecapacity that allow morethanafewthousandsofpictures tobesavedwhen
youwillleave it inthefield.
Caution:BesuretheMainPWSwitchis OFF beforereplacing a CF card inorder tominimize a risk
todamageyour CF card or loss datapartially. Thisdevice does support upto4GCFcard. Also, before
using ablanknewSDcard or usedinother cameras, itisalwayssuggested toformat itbeforeusage.
Important: If a CFcardcannotbeinsertedsmoothly,youmustretractitandcheckifa directionof
card is correct or not.Never force topushithardly. Mostofcaseswithaproblemwithcard usagewere
foundthatcausedby animproper insertion.
6MEMORY MANAGEMENT
Incaseeither built-inor CFcard memoryisfull, amemoryFULL and Cameraiconswill beblinking
onthescouting LCD. Thecamerawillstoptocapture.ButPIRwillstillsensing eventsinorder tolet
youstill knowhowmanytotaleventstoberecordedevenwithoutimages. Replace anemptycardor
deletesomeor allcontentsthenreboottheunittorefreshthememorystatus. After clearfor free
memory, remembertore-bootthedevice by themainPWswitch. Thecamerawillnotresumetowork
withoutrebooting thesystem.
7MOUNTINGDEVICE
Beforestartingtoputthiscamerainthefieldfor
scouting game,thecameramustbemountedin acertain
placeproperlyor onatreewhosediameterwill notbe
less than6inch(15cm) andlocatednothigher than1M
withyour desiredmountingmethod thatfollowingthe
installationmethod asshownasbelow. Thedesignis
reservedtofitfor twoways ofmounting.
