USB Rechargeable Waterproof Digital Scale
Thank you for purchasing this kitchen scale. Your scale is an example of superior design and craftsmanship. Please read
this instruction manual carefully before use. Keep these instructions handy for future reference.
IMPORTANT: In order to protect the product during transportation, the scale is shipped with an uncharged battery.
Please fully charge before first use. Please see “Charging Instructions” for more information.
CHARGING INSTRUCTIONS
1. A Type-C (5-volt) USB cord is included with the scale. You will need to use your own wall outlet
converter to plug the cord into.
2. Gently move the rubber plug to see the USB port, taking care not to break the plug off the scale.
3. Insert the small end of the charging cord into the left side of the scale. Then plug the universal USB
(large end) into your wall outlet converter and then into the wall outlet.
4. The first charge will take approximately 2 hours.
5. When the scale is charging the display will show a blinking “ ” symbol. In order to ensure the fastest
charging cycle, the scale will stay off while charging and cannot be used.
6. When the “ ” symbol stops blinking, the charge is complete. Unplug the scale and securely push the
rubber plug back into the scale. The scale will automatically turn on. To turn the scale off, press and
hold the “ ” button.
7. Recharge the scale when the display shows “Lo” or when the reading becomes dim or difficult to see.
NOTE: Charging currents must be less than or equal to 2A. Damage to the scale may occur with charging
voltages greater than 5 volts. The internal lithium-ion, rechargeable battery has a maximum capacity of
200mAh. The battery cannot be replaced.

GENERAL WEIGHING OPERATION
1. Place the scale on a hard, level surface.
2. Press“ ”buttontoturnthescaleon.Thedisplaywillturnon, show“”, then zero when it is ready for
use.
3. The scaleissettoweigh in pound/ounces. Toswitchbetweenpounds/ounces(lboz),grams(g),fluid
ounces(fl.oz.)andmilliliters(ml),press the “UNIT”button.
4. Placetheitemtobeweighedonthecenteroftheplatform. The weight will display. As you add weight,
the weight displayed increases.
5.
The scale will turn off automatically after approximately
3minutes.Press andhold the ““ ”button for 3
seconds toturnthe scale off manually.
Model 5275648 30 lb capacity scale only: “Hold” feature -
To lock in the weight of the item on the platform, press the
“HOLD” button and the “HOLD” icon appears on the display. Press “HOLD” again to unlock the weight and the icon
disappears from the display.

Liquid ingredient measurement:
The liquid measure feature is
suitableforallwater-basedliquids,includingwine,
milk,stock, creametc.Note:Oilshavealowerspecificgravity,whichwill resultin avolumereadingof
approximately+10%.Ifmeasuring oils byvolumeon thisscale, pleaseadjustforthisaccordingly.
TARE OPERATION
Youmaywishtoweighingredientsinabowlorother container (notincluded).Inthiscase,youwillneedtotare
(zero out),oroffset,the weightofthebowlso thatonlytheweightof theingredientsis displayed.
1. Choose a container that will safely balance on the platform withouttippingorfalling.Donotuseaheavy
container,asthis might reduce the maximum capacity of the scale.
2. Press“ ”toturnthescaleon.Thescalewillshow“
”
and thenzero.
3. Place the empty container on the scale platform and the weightwilldisplay.Wave your hand within 2
inches for 2 seconds over the “TOUCHLESS TARE” sensors on the scale platform. The scale beeps and
then resets to zero.
4. Addtheingredienttobeweighed. Theweightoftheingredient alone willdisplay.
5. The weight of additional ingredients may be zero-ed out as well. For example, if a recipe calls for ½ lb
rice and ½ lb beans, place the rice into the bowl. Once the correct amount of rice is weighed, wave
your hand within 2 inches for 2 seconds over the “TOUCHLESS TARE” sensors on the scale platform.
The scale beeps and then resets to zero. Add the ½ lbs of beans. Both ingredients have been
accurately weighed in the same bowl.
6. When weights have been zero-ed out, the display will show a negativenumberwhentheitemsare
removedfromthescale. To reset the scale backtozerofor anewmeasurement,wave your hand within 2
inches for 2 seconds over the “TOUCHLESS TARE” symbol on the scale platform. The scale beeps and
then resets to zero.
Note: If the “TARE” button illuminates on the scale, this indicates the weight of the bowl or container that is
zero-ed out is more than 1 lb 1.6 oz /500 grams /500 mL/17.6 fl oz. The scale will operate, but the capacity
may be reduced by the weight of the bowl or container. Please use a lighter weight bowl or container if
needed.
DISABLE TOUCHLESS TARE FEATURE
You may wish to turn off the “TOUCHLESS TARE” feature and use only the buttons to tare out a weight. To
disable the “TOUCHLESS TARE” feature:
1. Turn scale on and wait for the display to show zero. The scale will automatically default to the
“TOUCHLESS TARE” feature the first time the scale powers on.
2. Press and hold the “UNIT” button for 2 seconds. The scale will beep to indicate that you are in manual
tare mode. The “TOUCHLESS TARE” feature is now disabled.
3. The “ ” button will function as the “TARE” button. Press “ ” to tare (zero) out a weight.
4. Press and hold “ ” for 3 seconds to turn the scale off. The next time the scale is turned on, the
“TOUCHLESS TARE” feature will default to the last setting. Repeat the above process to enable the
“TOUCHLESS TARE” feature if desired.
PRECAUTIONS & DISPLAY MESSAGES
1. Clean exposed parts with a soft, slightly damp cloth. This scale meets IPX7 Waterproof requirements,
so this entire unit can be washed down with water. This allows for easy cleaning and high sanitary
conditions. Do not immerse in water for longer than 30 minutes. Before washing the scale, be certain
the USB port rubber plug is securely pushed into the USB port. Failure to do so may result in water
entering the scale and cause permanent damage. Avoid contact with acids, such as citrus juices.
2. Do not tamper with the scale’s internal components. The scale contains no user-serviceable parts.

3. Although your scale is designed to be maintenance-free, it contains sensitive electronic parts. Avoid
rough treatment. Treat it with care to ensure the best performance.
4. This scale is intended for home/consumer use only. It is not intended for commercial or medicaluse.

6. Do not store scale where you store cleaning chemicals. The vapors from some household products may
affect the electronic components of your scale. Do not store scale on its side.
7. This scale is an extremely sensitive weighing device. In order to prevent run down of the rechargeable
battery, do not store anything on the scale.
8. Overload Warning: If “oL”appear on the display during a weighing, this indicates that the maximum
weighing capacity of the scale has been exceeded. Remove the weight immediately; otherwise,
permanent damage could occur.
9. Low Battery Warning: If “Lo” appears on the display, this indicates low battery power. Recharge the
battery according to the battery charging instructions.
10.
The scale is
not
dishwasher safe.
