1 General Information
Installation and service by qualified personnel only!
1.1 Uses
The SK 545 switchgear is used t m nit r the r tary field, watertightness
and temperature f the m t rs f submersible pumps, series TP80, TP100
and TP 150. It is fitted as an additi nal device t c nventi nal switchgear in
which the specified safety functi ns are n t pr vided.
The tripping unit is designed f r tw pumps.
1.2 Product data
1.2.1 Connection and electrical data
Mains v ltage 3~400V ± 10%, 50/60 Hz,
Fuse pr tecti n: 6 A, time-lag.
Switch utputs: 2 p tential-free pen c ntacts per pump,
max. l ad 250 V/5A
Ambient temperature 0-40°C
System f pr tecti n: IP 20
2 Safety
The safety instructions are to be taken from the Installation and Operating
Instructions of the connected switchgear / pumps and observed at all
times.
3 Transport and interim storage
The switchgear is t be pr tected against m isture and
mechanical damage caused by j lts/impacts.It sh uld n t
be exp sed t temperatures utside the range –10°C t
+50°C.
4 Product and accessory description
4.1 Switch gear description (Fig. 1)
Monitoring direction of rotation:
The switchgear displays the directi n f r tati n f the mains c nnecti n's
r tary field.

lights up.
In the case f anti-cl ckwise r tati n and phase failure the red LED
„ “ lights up.
During electrical assembly f the pump please ensure theref re that the
green LED lights up and that the pump's directi n f r tati n matches the
arr w n the pump h using. Only then will b th LEDs sh w the pump's
directi n f r tati n r display the wr ng directi n f r tati n if the direc-
ti n f r tati n f the mains c nnecti n changes.
Monitoring seals:
The penetrati n f water int the inside f the m t r as a result f faulty
seals is checked and assessed and displayed f r each pump.
DI TURN-OFF: The leak is displayed (LED) and the pump turned ff.

DI WARNING: unoccupied
Because it may in certain emergency situati ns be necessary t briefly
c ntinue t perate the pump(s) despite water penetrating int the m t r
c mpartment (e.g. empty-pumping f a shaft), there are 2 p ssible ways f
switching ff the seal m nit ring:
– Switch t „Manual perati n“ n the available switchb x (if Aut -Manual
switch available)
– Disc nnect P1 c / P2 c c nnecti ns n the SK 545
In this perating m de the pump is nly t be perated f r
sh rt peri ds in emergency situati ns, as there is a risk f
sh rt-circuit if water has already entered the m t r c m-
partment.In this case the appliance must be inspected by
Cust mer Service!
WSK thermal monitoring:
If the m t r verheats as a result f an verl ad the winding earthing
c ntact switches the m t r ff. The turn- ff is indicated by the red „WSK“
LED n the fr nt plate f r each pump.
The fault ackn wledges itself nce it has been rectified (m t r has c led
d wn).

5 Assembly / Installation
5.1 Assembly
The switchgear is fastened in an existed switchgear either t a t p hat rail
r with 2 screws (dimensi ns: see Fig. 2).
5.2 Electrical connection
Electrical c nnecti n sh uld be made by a qualified electrician.
Current nati nal regulati ns must be bserved (e.g. VDE regula-
ti ns in Germany).
– Check that the mains current and v ltage c mply with the data n the
rating plate.
– The terminal strips are t be assigned as f ll ws in acc rdance with the
terminal c nnecti n diagram (Fig. 3 „with N-c nduct r“) r (Fig. 4 „with-
ut N-c nduct r“):
