PURPOSE AND SAFETY
This user manual describes the use of Hera II/140 bathing- and toileting chair, which have
many possibilities for use, adjustments and describe the maintenance of the chair.
Purpose
The purpose of the Hera II bathing and toileting chair is to facilitate the work for the carer in
connection with the user’s needs for personal care and give the user an easier approach to
personal hygiene, such as
- toileting, either in the bathroom or other suitable places in the home.
- when the user must have a shower or other kind of washing.
Remember: Always remember to take the user’s personal needs and conditions into account.
Use:
Hera II/140 can be used for users with a maximum weight of 140 kg.
Hera II/140 is intended for indoor use under normal temperatures +20 to +40 C° and a relative
humidity 40-90%.
Hera II/140 can be used on hospitals, nursing homes and in homecare.
Note! Never use the chair for any other purpose than originally intended.

Safety instructions
Important – warning!
This user instruction must be read thoroughly before the chair is taken into use.
•The maximum capacity is 140 kg. and this must never be exceeded.
•There must be no indication of wear and tear on the chair. NEVER use the chair if
there is suspicion of any defect (abnormal sound, loose brackets etc.). In such cases
it is important to find the cause and to take the chair out of service and contact your
dealer or Winncare Nordic.
•Under special circumstances a build-up of static electricity can occur (e.g. using on a
plastic floor or in very dry air). These conditions should be avoided.
•No smoking in the chair since the seat, back rest and neck support contain flammable
materials.
•Brake the wheels if there is any danger of inadvertent movement i.e. on a ramp or
other slope.
•When using the chair with other equipment ensure that no dangerous situations can
arise. When using with a hoist ensure that sling straps cannot get tangled around the
wheels.
•Make sure that the chair is correctly set for the user and either the user or carer is
squeezed during use.
•It is the carer / institutions responsibility to ensure that using the chair is safe.
Before use
The carer/user is responsible for ensuring that a check is carried out BEFORE Hera II is used
and have received instructions in its correct use.
Before use check following:
1) Ensure that there are no parts missing and the chair is suited the user.
2) Ensure that there are no signs of wear and tear or other defects.
3) Try the tilt function and ensure that the seat and the wheels are in order.
4) Ensure that accessories are in good working order.
5) If in any doubt concerning the use of Hera II contact Winncare Nordic or your dealer
for advice and guidance.

Transport and unpacking
Hera II/140 transported best by using the original packaging or on a pallet. We recommend
that the packaging is kept if the chair for return shipment in case of repair or annual check.
Check that all the parts are present and undamaged.
Any suspicion of damage or shortage should be reported to your dealer or Winncare Nordic.

USE AND ADJUSTMENT
When the Hera II chair is going through corridors or over doorsteps (max. height 5 cm.) it is
best to pull the chair, thus ensuring maximum stability.
Note! Ensure that the user keep his/her hands inside the armrest when going through doors
and corridors. The user should sit calmly during this kind of movement.
Using the tilt function
Hera II chair can be adjusted from +5° (forwards) to -30° (backwards).
Activate the tilt function by pulling the cable lightly upward and tilt the chair to the desired
position.
Note! This operation requires less effort if you push against one of the back legs with your foot
whilst activating the handle.
Adjusting the accessories of Hera II
The chair should be adjusted to the individual user on delivery.
Setting the seat height:
Setting the seat height is carried out without tools.
It is not meant to be used on a daily basis.
1) Release the spring-loaded screw (A) on both sides and
turn these so that they rest against the outer surface.
2) The seat can now be raised until the desired height is
reached.
3) Turn the spring-loaded screw so that it engages again.
Warning: The spring-loaded screw MUST be engaged before using the
chair again.
Foot supports:
1) Remove the clips and adjust the foot support to the
required height.
2) Click the clips on.
3) If the foot supports can be angled, the support can be
pulled out to the required angle and will lock
automatically.

PU-Back rest:
The back rest will automatically angle itself according to the
pressure of the user.
It can also be moved up or down to suit individual needs.
1) Loosen the screws on the brackets.
2) Adjust the back rest at the correct height and
tightening the screws again.
Note! This does not apply to the fabric back.
Neck support:
1) Use the hand screw to adjust height and angle.
Armrest:
The armrests can be raised to allow sideways transfer.
Ensure that the user´s arms/fingers cannot be trapped or squeezed when
the armrests is raised up or lowered.

MAINTENANCE
Cleaning
It is recommended that Hera II chair is cleaned and disinfected regularly with a small quantity
of standard household cleaning agent. The seat and accessories may be removed and washed
down. All parts can be wiped with surgical spirit.
Note! If the chair is used for more than one person, it MUST be thoroughly cleaned.
Note! Strong chemicals or abrasive agents must not be used.
If the chair is used as a toilet chair, ensure that the bucket is correctly placed under the seat.
The bucket and lid can be cleaned according to relevant regulations. The bucket and lid
purchased by Winncare Nordic can be cleaned in a bedpan washer 85°C.
Storage
Hera II chair must be stored in a dry environment with relative humidity under 70%.
CHECK AND WARRANTY
Hera II chair must be serviced and thoroughly checked at least once a year by a qualified
person. It is the legal owner of the product to ensure that the check is carried out.
If it is necessary to replace any parts due to wear or damage, it is recommended by Winncare
Nordic, for safety reasons only to use original spare parts.

There is a 10 years warranty on the frame and 2 years on other parts.

ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
Hera II chair has an expected life time of minimum 10 years under the assumption that all
recommended service checks have been carried out and that the normal maintenance have
been carried out.
Disposal
Disposal of Hera II can be made through Winncare Nordic. After lifetime use
the chair can be returned to discard in an environmentally correct way either
through reuse or recycling.
Quality
Winncare Nordic is certified according to the quality standard ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
These certifications mean that the products and the company complies with the
international standards for quality management and standards for traceability of medical
products.
Hera II /140 is classified as a Medical device class 1 product.
