General Memory Card Reader EasyGuide by WorldStart
Though the specific memory card reader you purchased may be different (different size, number of
cards it can read) all the basic functionality works the same.
Instructions
Step 1) Remove the card reader from the packaging (optional: If USB cable is not attached to the card
reader, attach the USB cable to the USB mini port) and locate an empty USB port on your computer.
Step 2) Turn on your computer and allow the operating system to load completely.
Step 3) Plug the USB card reader into the empty USB port you located in step 1.
Step 4) Allow your operating system 2-3 minutes to detect and install the card reader. All modern
operating systems include drivers for card readers (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, Mac OS, Linux) so a driver
disk is not needed.
Step 5) Insert a memory card into the memory card reader. A new drive will appear in your My
Computer (Windows XP) or Computer (Windows Vista, 7, 8) showing the files on the memory card. If
you feel resistance placing the memory card in, try flipping the memory card upside down and
reinserting.
To easily tell which drive letter your memory card is on, simply open My Computer or Computer before
plugging the memory card in to the reader and take note of which drive appears or changes name.
Please refer to the reference photos below. Your memory card reader may look different due to brand
and cards accepted.
