notallowpassengerstohangoutsidetheboatorsitonthegunwalesoutsidethenormalseatingareaoftheboat.
Unevenweightdistributionoradditionalweightmayaffectthehandlingoftheboat.Neverallowwatertooverflow
thegunwalesofyourboat.
• Itistheboat/watercraftdriver’sresponsibilitytoinstructtheridershowtorideatow-able.Theboat/watercraft
drivershouldcarefullyinstructtheridersofpotentialrisksandpossibleinjurythatmayoccuriftheypartakein
carelessbehavior.
• Atthebeginningoftheride,carefullytaketheslackoutofthetowrope.Neverjerkstartatowable.Aftertherider
hassignaledthathe/sheisready,thedrivercanslowlybringthetowabletoaplanningpoint.
• Mosttowableswillplaneoutat10to20mph(16to32km/h),dependingontheweightoftherider(s).Itis
importanttokeepthenoseoftheitemupuntiltheitemisplanning.
• Theresistanceoftheproductvarieswidelywiththesefactors:boatspeed,turns,waterconditions,numberof
ridersandtheirweight,towablesize,shapeandfunction.Theboat/watercraftdrivershouldadjusttheboatspeed
tofitthesesituationstominimizeresistanceofthetowable.
• Donottowinshallowwaterorwithin100feet(31meters)ofshore,docks,pilings,swimmersorotherboatsand
obstructions.Useinthecenterofaclearboatpath200feet(61meters)wide.Mostaccidentshappenonturns
andincongestedareas.
• Theboat/watercraftdriverdeterminesthespeedandtheactionofthetowableinturnsandwhencrossingthe
boat/watercraftwake.Inthestraight-a-ways,theboat/watercrafttowingspeedisthesameasthetowablespeed.
Thetowablespeedwillincreasewhentheboat/watercraftmakesa90to180degreeturnwithoutincreasingthe
boat/watercraftspeed.Iftheboat/watercraftspeedis20mph(32km/h),thetow-ablespeedcanbe30-40mph
(48-64km/h)The“slingshoteffect”sendstheuseroutwardfromthecenterofthetowable.Beawareofthe
limitationsoftherider.
• Largewakescombinedwiththewaveactionandspeedcancontributetoaroughride.Useasafespeedthat
enablesthetowabletoplaneout.Theboat/watercraftdrivershouldadjusttheboat/watercraftspeedandturnsto
fitthewaterconditionsandtheage,experience,skillandphysicalstrengthoftherider(s).
• Excessivespeedorsharpturnsmightcausethetubetoflipoverabruptly,possiblycausingseriousinjurytorider.
• Ifthetowableoverturns,theboat/watercraftdrivershouldnotexceed5mph(8km/h)untilthe
towableisuprightagain.
• Drivermustuseextracautionapproachingafallenskier/riderandkeepeyecontactonfallen
skier/rideratalltimes.
• Undernormalconditions,themaximumsafespeedforadultsis20mph(32km/h)Safespeedsforchildrenare
lessthan15mph(24km/h),dependingontheageandphysicalcapabilityofthechild.
• Pleasemakesureyourboat/watercraftistow-worthyandhastheappropriatehorsepowertopullrider(s)andthe
towtube.Donotexceedtheboat/watercraftpassengercapacity.
• Puttheboatinneutralwhennearafallenskier/rider.Turntheengineoffwhenpeoplearegettingintooroutof
theboat,orinthewaterneartheboat.
WARNING! BOAT OWNERS WITH HIGH TOWER AND PYLONS:
• Tow/Skitowersarenotdesignedforusewithanyinflatabletubetowing.
• Useonlyliftingeyes/transomsontheboatfortowingtubeswith2ormoreriders.
• Donottowanyinflatablefromaskipylonorskieye.
• Anytowpylonorskipylonsinstalledaftermarketarenotintendedforinflatabletubetowing.
