Important Safety Information
Misusing or incorrectly connecting the external PROwatt SW Auto Transfer Switch
may create hazardous conditions for users or damage the equipment. Read the
following safety instructions and pay special attention to all Danger, Warning and
Caution statements in the guide. Danger, Warning, and Caution statements identify
conditions that may result in loss of life or personal injury. Notices identify conditions or
practices that may damage the unit or other equipment.
DANGER
ELECTRICAL SHOCK AND FIRE HAZARD
•Use a qualified installer or technician/electrician only. Consult your RV/motor home/vessel dealer for
guidance.
•Keep the auto transfer switch out of reach of children and pets.
•Do not expose the auto transfer switch to moisture, rain, spray, or snow. For marine application, use a
drip shield (PN: 808-1050).
•Do not operate the auto transfer switch if it has been damaged in any way.
•Do not disassemble the auto transfer switch There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
• More than one live circuit – disconnect all sources of supply before installing or servicing.
• This unit employs components that tend to produce arcs or sparks – To prevent fire or explosion, do not
install in compartments containing batteries or flammable materials.
• Do not connect grounding conductors to any neutral terminals; doing so defeats ground-fault protection
and may violate installation codes.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or serious injury.
WARNING
ELECTRICAL SHOCK AND FIRE HAZARD
•Use with PROwatt SW inverter only.
•For electrical connections, use stranded copper (Cu) wire only.
•Continuous load current not to exceed 100 percent of transfer switch current rating
•Tungsten filament load not to exceed 30% of switch current rating.
Failure to follow these instructions may result in death or serious injury.
NOTICE
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE
•Not intended for use with parallel engine generator (sets).
•This switch will not transfer if internal overcurrent device opens due to fault.
Failure to follow these instructions may result in equipment damage.
Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the PROwatt SW Auto Transfer Switch (PN:808-0915), an
automatic AC power transfer switch that automatically switches between primary and
secondary AC input sources to power a single AC output circuit.
The auto transfer switch automatically toggles between AC power from the PROwatt
SW inverter and AC power from another AC source such as utility (shore power) to
transfer to a single AC output such as a qualified load via a branch circuit.

SPECIFIC CIRCUIT BREAKER MANUFACTURER AND TYPE LISTING
When the transfer switch is protected by a circuit breaker (of a specific manufacturer, type,
and ampere rating), determine the circuit breaker’s compatibility by making sure it is
suitable for use in circuits capable of delivering the short-circuit current at the maximum
voltage stated below:
•Short Circuit Current (RMS Symmetrical Amperes X 1000) : 10
•Voltage (Volts AC Maximum): 240
•Rating (Amperes): 15
