Quick Install Guide

NetDisk NDAS Mode
•Connect NetDisk to your switch (100Base-TX) with included Ethernet cable.
NetDisk USB Mode
•Connect the included USB cable from USB port on NetDisk to your PC’s USB port.
• For wireless users - Connect NetDisk to your wireless router or access point with the
included Ethernet cable.
Make sure the power connector is
connected firmly, and slide the On/Off
switch to the On position.

NetDisk Mini USB Only Mode
•Alternatively, only one cable is required to be connected with your host computer when
using an external power source. (It does not matter which connector you choose to
connect.) Slide the On/Off switch to the ON position.
•No external power connection is required when connecting via USB! However, to ensure
continuous power flow to your NetDisk Mini please use the included dual connector USB
cable and connect both connectors with your host computer.
From this point forward, “NetDisk” will be used to represent NetDisk, NetDisk Mini
and NetDisk Office models unless otherwise noted.
NetDisk Modes
NDAS Mode
In NDAS Mode, NetDisk is directly attached to a 100 Mbps / Full Duplex Fast Ethernet
Switch or Wireless Router (Wireless Router applies to NetDisk and NetDisk Mini only).
Each user on the network can use NetDisk as if it was a local disk drive.
USB 2.0 Mode
In USB 2.0 Mode, NetDisk is directly attached to a PC’s USB 2.0 Port. In addition,
each user can enjoy all of the advanced NDAS features such as aggregation,
back-up, mirroring and flexible expansion.
NDAS Mode
•Using the included Ethernet cable, connect
the NetDisk to your PC by plugging the cable
into one of the ports on the NetDisk Office
Switch and connecting to your Ethernet or
LAN connection on your PC.
•The remaining ports can be used to connect
other devices to your network.
NetDisk Office USB Mode
•Connect NetDisk Office directly to your PC’s USB Port using included USB cable.
•The remaining ports can be used to connect other devices to your network.
NOTE: In order to use the NetDisk Office Switch to commuincate with your network, you must
have a LAN connection from your Network or router to the NetDisk Office.

NetDisk Office Cable Installation
•Make sure the power connector is connected firmly and turn
NetDisk Office on by sliding the On/Off switch to the On position.
NDAS Mode
•Connect your Local Area Network (LAN)
cable to one of the eight NetDisk Office
Switch Ports. This connection provides
network access from your LAN or router
to the NetDisk Office.

Windows®98SE / ME / 2000 / XP
• 233 MHz Pentium®II or higher
• 64 MB RAM (128 MB recommended)
• USB 1.1 Port (USB 2.0 recommended)
• CD-ROM drive for installation
• 100Base-T full duplex switch for NDAS mode
WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT USB CABLE AND
ETHERNET CABLE AT THE SAME TIME.
NetDisk Software Installation
Installation of NetDisk software is simple and easy. Insert included “NetDisk Installation CD” to
your CD-ROM Drive and select the NetDisk Mode you want. Easy and simple instructions will
guide you through the installation.
NOTE: If you are using firewall or anti-virus software, please disable these services
before installing the NetDisk driver.
First Time Users
It is strongly recommended that the first time NetDisk user select Easy Installation from the
main menu.
For Advanced Users
Once you are comfortable with installing and using NetDisk, you may choose to use advanced
installation. You can pick and choose features you want to install, select Advanced Installation
from the main menu.
NDAS Mode Easy Installation
Select “NDAS Mode Easy Installation” and click the “next” button. The instructions will guide
you through the installation.
USB 2.0 Mode Easy Installation
Select “USB 2.0 Mode Easy Installation” and click the “next” button. The instructions will
guide you through the installation.
NetDisk Administrator Tool
When software installation is completed, you will find a NetDisk Launcher Icon on your desktop
screen and a NetDisk Administrator Tool icon on the system tray.
Add / Register a New NetDisk / NetDisk Mini
•Click NetDisk™Administrator Tool Icon located
on the bottom right corner of your screen.
•Click New NetDisk.
• Add a NetDisk / NetDisk Mini
–NetDisk ID and Write Key can be found underneath the NetDisk case.
–Naming the NetDisk is optional.
–The NetDisk ID and Write Key do not contain the letter “O” or the letter “I”. Please use
numeric “1” or “0” for all occurrences of these characters.
– Note that the “Write Key” is required if you will be using the NetDisk in Read/Write Mode.
– When all required fields have been filled in,the “Add” button will be active. Click “Add”.

Found New Hardware Wizard
• This dialog box may or may not appear.
• If the dialog box appears, click “Continue Anyway”, or “Yes”, then follow the standard
NetDisk software installation instructions.

Registration is completed.
• Click the NetDisk Administrator Tool on the system tray to see the registered NetDisk.
• A blue dot denotes Read/Write enabled; green means Read Only:
