SETUP
DMX-512 / Connecting between fixtures
Utilizing the XLR (3 pin) DMX connection:
If you are using lighting controllers with this operation, you can connect the DMX-output of the
controller directly with the DMX-input of the first fixture in the DMX-chain. If you wish to connect
DMX-controllers with other XLR-outputs, you need to use adapter-cables.
Building a serial DMX-chain:
To add or continue a chain of fixtures, connect the DMX-output of the first fixture in the chain with
the DMX-input of the next fixture. Always connect one output with the input of the next fixture until
all fixtures are connected.
NOTE –TERMINATE THE DMX CHAIN: At the XLR output port of the last fixture in chain, the
DMX-circuit has to be terminated with a “Terminator” plug. This is a standard practice, but if a
terminator is not available, you can solder a 120 resistor between Signal (–) and Signal (+) into a
3-pin XLR-plug and plug it in the open DMX-jack of the last fixture.
CONNECTING TO POWER –120v AC
Connect the device to 120 volt power source with the enclosed power supply cable. Use only
suitably rated power extension cords with this product.
WARNING!
All fixtures must be powered directly off a switched circuit and cannot be run
off a rheostat (variable resistor) or dimmer circuit, even if the rheostat or dimmer channel is
used solely for a 0% to 100% switch.

Addressing
The LCD DISPLAY on the rear side of the base allows you to assign the DMX fixture address,
which defines the first channel from which the fixture will respond to on the controller. If you set, for
example, the address to channel 7, the item will use the channel 7 to 14 for control. Be sure that
you don’t have any overlapping channels in order to control each item correctly and independently
from any other fixture on the DMX data chain. If two, three or more items are addressed similarly,
they will follow the same.
In DMX mode you can choose the address from 1 to 512. After you connect the item to the power
mains, the item is powered and running. When the item finishes resetting, d-OO1 will flash in the
led display and then set the desired DMX address by pressing the UP or DOWN buttons.
