Congratulations on the purchase of your new Xuma Bluetooth
Keyboard Case for the iPad mini. This product features a removable
Bluetooth keyboard housed in a stylish, textured folio iPad mini
case. You can store your iPad mini in the case; when you’re ready to
type, just open the folio, prop up your iPad mini and pair it with the
keyboard. The keyboard charges via USB, features an ultraslim design
and boasts thirteen shortcut keys for maximum functionality.
Here are some basic instructions
to get you through the setup
& synchronization process.

Charging
To charge keyboard, use included USB
charging cable (Figure  to connect it to
your computer’s USB port or to a USB
AC adapter (not included). The charging
light will glow when unit is charging and
will turn o when it reaches a full charge.
(Figure  The initial charge should be
between  to hours; subsequent charges
should be at least hours.
The charging light will blink
when battery power is low.

Getting Started
. Open folio case, set aside removable
keyboard and lift up tab fastener
found behind rectangular sleeve
where iPad mini will rest. Then insert
iPad mini inside sleeve. (Figure )
. Secure iPad mini by fastening tab
tightly between the iPad mini and
case. (Figure )
. Case can be used alone to allow for
portrait and landscape viewing. To
convert case into a stand for working
with keyboard, unsnap support leg
from rear of folio case and place
opened case on sturdy surface, with
front of case facing downwards. Fold
external clasp backwards and tuck
into slit found above support leg.
Place Bluetooth keyboard on case
surface and prepare to pair it with
iPad mini device. (Figure )
. Remove the keyboard from case
if you want to control iPad mini
remotely or pair it with another
Bluetooth-enabled device. Keyboard
can be used from up to  feet ( m)
away from compatible devices. When
replacing keyboard inside case, be
sure to align it with magnets housed
inside folio case; verify magnetic
alignment by gently putting keyboard
down and allowing it to shift into
proper position.
Getting Started
When replacing keyboard in case,
make sure to align the keyboard
with internal magnetic fasteners
to hold in place.

Pairing Up the Keyboard
. Turn on keyboard by moving power
switch to ON position. The pairing
light will briefly glow.
. To enter pairing mode and make
your keyboard discoverable, press
pairing button. The pairing light will
blink in pairing mode.
. On your iPad mini, select
Settings > General > Bluetooth.

. Select ON to activate iPad mini’s
Bluetooth feature. The iPad mini will
automatically search for available
Bluetooth devices.
. Select Bluetooth Keyboard from list
of discovered Bluetooth devices.
. Type in four-digit code that appears
onscreen and press ENTER.

complete, your iPad mini will
automatically recognize your
Xuma keyboard for future use.

6Keyboard Functions
Shortcut Keys
The shortcut keys are shortcuts to
various functions on your iPad mini.
They are located in the top row, directly
above the number keys. (Figure 

Activates and deactivates
sleep mode on iPad mini

Press once for next track
Press and hold for fast forward
Play/Pause
Press once for previous track
Press and hold for fast rewind
Press the fn key + the space bar
to switch the keyboard language.

7Sleep Mode / Troubleshooting
Sleep Mode
When keyboard is inactive for fifteen
minutes, it will enter sleep mode in order
to conserve power. Press any key and wait
for keyboard to turn back on; it may take
a few seconds.
Troubleshooting
Following are a few common problems
that may arise during operation of your
Bluetooth wireless iPad mini case, and
basic troubleshooting solutions to avoid
them.
Problem Solution
The keyboard does not
respond.
The wireless keyboard
is not pairing up with
the iPad mini.
The keyboard will not
charge.
Make sure that the wireless keyboard and the iPad
mini are turned on, and that their batteries are charged.
Make sure the wireless keyboard is within operating
distance of the iPad mini ( feet or  m).
Make sure the iPad mini’s Bluetooth setting is turned on.
Make sure to select Bluetooth Keyboard on the iPad
mini’s list of discovered Bluetooth devices.
If there are multiple Bluetooth keyboards in the iPad
mini’s list of discovered Bluetooth devices, make sure
to select the right one.
Make sure the USB cable is properly connected to
the wireless keyboard and the power source.
If you are using a USB AC adapter (not included),
make sure that it has an output of at least one
ampere-hour (Ah) and that it is properly plugged into
the power outlet.
Make sure that the wireless keyboard is turned on
and that the battery is charged.

ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY:
Xuma provides a limited warranty that this product is free from defects in
materials and workmanship to the original purchaser under normal use for a
period of one () year from the original purchase date or thirty () days after
replacement, whichever occurs later (the “Warranty Period”). Our responsibility
with respect to this limited warranty shall be limited solely to repair or replacement,
at its option, of any product which fails during normal consumer use. To obtain
warranty coverage during the Warranty Period, contact your place of purchase
(“Seller”) to obtain a return merchandise authorization (“RMA”) number, and return
to Seller the defective product along with proof of purchase and the RMA number.
This warranty does not extend to damage or failure which results from misuse,
neglect, accident, alteration, abuse, improper installation or maintenance. EXCEPT
AS PROVIDED HEREIN, XUMA MAKES NEITHER ANY EXPRESS WARRANTIES
NOR ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY
IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE. This warranty provides you with specific legal rights, and you may
also have additional rights which vary from state to state.
