4Tighten the other bolts littlebylittle (byabout
1/16to1/8ofaturn)untilthesoundsatthe
correspondingstrikingpointsmatchthepitchof
thehighestsound.Pleasenotethattightening
onebolt alsoraisesthepitchof theneighbor-
ingandoppositetensionrods.Thus,aftertight-
eningthetensionrodwiththelowestsound,
againcheckthepitchattheothertensionrods
beforetighteningthetensionrodwiththenext
lowestpitch.Whilealternatelytighteningthe
otherbolts,do nottouchthetensionrodwith
thehighestpitch(referencepitch).
5Loosenallover-tightenedboltsaccordingto
the procedure described in step 3(*).When
the pitch is approximately the same at each
bolt,repeatedlydepressthetoeandheelofthe
pedal several times.
6Repeatsteps3through5until the pitch at
each bolt is exactly the same.
