Connect to external audio devices for audio output, like speaker, with 3.5 mm phone jack.
Remote audio will output from this connector.
(7) SD Card Slot:
Support up to 32GB. Device doesn’t support SD card hot swappi6ng, please insert or
remove SD card while system is off.
(8) USB port:( Optional )
Connect to external USB flash drive (for data storage)

Connect to Ethernet network, support up to 1G Ethernet.
(3) RS232 Connector
Reserved function.
(4) Video Out (Analog Video Output)
Connect to LCD monitor to display analog video with VGA(D-sub) connector.

(5) RS485 / AUX / ALARM Connector
Connect to PTZ camera, keyboard and other external devices. All pin definition
please refer to rear panel diagram and chapter 2.2 of this manual for complete
description。
(6) Line in (Audio Input)
Connect to external audio devices for audio input, like microphone, with RCA
connector.
(7) Video in (Analog Video Input)
Connect to analog cameras for video input with BNC connector.

Reset Button
The reset button is used to reset the system or restore the factory default settings.
Sometimes resetting the system can return the video server to normal operation.
The video server reset to default, but reserve Network Setting and Daylight
Saving Time configuration.
Press reset button by 5 seconds, the user will hear 1 beep alert sound, the video server
will be reset to default except for network setting and Daylight saving time

The video server fully reset to default
Press reset button by 10 secs, the user will hear 1 beep on 5

second alert sound, and 2
beep on 10

second alert sound. The video server will be reset to default in all
configurations.

CHAPTER 2
Installation
2.1 Basic Installation
2.1.1 Hardware Connecting Diagram

(1) Connect the 12V DC adaptor to the power jack on the rear panel of the video server.
(2) Connect the camera output of the analog camera through the coaxial cable to the video
input of the video server.
(3) Use Ethernet cable to make connection from the Ethernet 10/100 RJ45 socket on the
video server to the PC.
2.1.2 Network Setting
After completing the basic hardware connection, make sure that the PC and the video
server IP address are both in the same network segment. Example: Setup preset Video
Server IP to 192.168.100.100 and configure your desktop IP address as the Figure 3-2
below.

2.1.3 Utility
(1) Please install Utility from the product CD. (Please refer to chapter 2.3.1 for installation
procedures.)
(2) Start Utility.
(3) After starting Utility, the program will automatically search and display supportive
devices in local LAN.
(4) Choose which device you would like to access, the default IP address on the device is
192.168.100.100
Setup format:
IPAddress:192.168.100.xxx
Subnet Mask:255.255.255.0
Default Gateway :
192.168.100.1

(5) Double click on the IP address, will automatically open the selected device web image.
(6) Please select on the device you would like to modify its setting and click “Modify”.
Enter username and password. (Default username and password is admin/ admin)
User can manually modify system setting: host name ,connection type , IP
address ,and web port. Please click “Save” button before complete change.
Utility provides firmware upgrade, please click on firmware upgrade checkbox, and
select new firmware (.img) in pop-up window. System will automatically start
firmware upgrade.
(7) Click “Scan” to refresh searching supportive devices in local LAN.
(8) If there is no DHCP server in local LAN, Utility can automatically assign IP address
for connected network device. When Utility searches network device which IP address is
192.168.100.100 in LAN, system will automatically assign an IP address of which is the
same network segment as client PC. To enable this function, please “Enable” on Auto
Assign IP item. Please notice that DO NOT enable this function when there is already a

DHCP server in LAN in case of IP conflict issues.
(9) The same models firmware can be upgraded together through utility.
2.1.4 Install Active X
Once you have logged in, you will see a pop-up information bar requiring your attention for
installing ActiveX Control, use mouse right click to install ActiveX control.
(1) Device default ID and password is admin/admin. Key in default ID and passwords
when log-in.
(2) Once you have logged in the first time, you will see a pop-up information bar requiring your
attention for installing ActiveX Control, use mouse right click ”allow” to install ActiveX
control.

(3) Once Active X installation complete, you will see the live viewing page.

2.1.5 Compatibility View Setting
Compatibility view setting is used for Internet Expoler version above 11
th
.
If the Internet Expoler version is under 11th, skip this chapter.
If the user find the web UI cannot successfully open to do further configuration as below figures.
It may cause from Active X and Internet Explore compatibility issue. It often occur to Internet
Explore 11
th
version.

This issue can be fixed by adding the ip address of the device to Compatibility View list.
(1) Tap or click the Tools button, and then tap or click Compatibility View

(2) Under Add this website, enter the ip address of the device you want to add to the list,
and then tap or click Add.
(3) Live view return to normal after add list.

2.2 Complete Installation

Connect to analog cameras for video input with BNC connector.
Video Out
Connect to CRT monitor to display analog video with VGA(D-Sub) connector.
Line In
Connect to external audio devices for audio input, like microphone, with RCA connector.
Digital Input (DI)
Please connect to external alarm input device, such as sensor. Please see Figure3-10 and
Table 3-1 for pin definition
Digital Output (DO)
Please connect to external alarm out device, such as buzzer, warning light…etc. Please
see Figure3-10 and Table 3-1 for pin definition
AUX
The video server supply 12V power to external alarm input or alarm output device such as
warning light.

Please use designated cable, connect to PTZ camera or PTZ keyboard to RS-485 port of
the device.Please see Figure3-10 and Table 3-1 for pin definition
