Introducon
With one independent control outlet, plus one always on outlet and one always on USB ports,
you can easily control lights and home electric devices plugged into the controlled outlet via
YoLink App on your iOS or Android devices, as well as popular voice assistants and 3rd-party
automaon apps such as IFTTT.

Set Up
Set Up - First-Time YoLink Users (Exisng users proceed to Add Device, next page)

Follow the steps below to set up your In-wall Outlet via the YoLink app
Download YoLink app through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
Log in or create a new account if required
Download, and log
in to YoLink app

* Ethernet patch cable (included) to your network
(router, switch, etc.), recommended, but oponal.
Otherwise connect your Hub to your home Wi-Fi
network. Refer to the Hub set up manual for more
informaon:

Add Device
Turn on power the Status LED aer installaon (refer to Installaon secon on next page),
will blink green several mes . The green LED indicates the device is online and ready to use
Tap “ ” buon, then scan QR Code on the device

Installaon
If you are not comfortable working with 120V electrical wiring, please consult or hire a qualified
electrician. Turn off circuit(s) at the breaker or fuse panel, and confirm there is no voltage in the
box before starng the installaon (there may be mulple live circuits within the switch box).
Failure to use best electrical safety pracces can result in injury or death! All wiring connecons
must be made aer the power is turned off to avoid personal injury and/or damage to the outlet
In-wall Outlet is designed and intended for indoor use only!
Total 15 amp maximum current. (Refer to the equipment or light bulb/fixture specificaons if in
doubt)
Outlet is designed and intended only for permanently installed fixtures, and in accordance
with the naonal and local electrical codes and regulaons of the United States or Canada, as
applicable

Get Ready Begin Installaon:
Turn off circuit(s) at the breaker or fuse
panel, and confirm there is no voltage in
the box before starng the installaon
(there may be mulple live circuits
within the switch box)
Unscrew and remove the outlet plate;
then use a voltage tester to confirm the
circuit is dead
Exisng wall outlet (to be replaced) or
new box with wiring ready (neutral wire
required)
At least 2 inches of box depth is required
(2 1/8" deep boxes are typical)
Screwdriver (Phillips, recommended),
straight screwdriver, wire strippers and
voltage tester

Unscrew the outlet from the electrical
box and pull it out with the wires sll
aached
Three wires will be aached to the outlet: an
incoming hot wire, which is black; a typically
neutral wire, which is white; and a typically
grounding wire, which is green or bare typically
copper. There may be other wires in the box,
but you should only be working with the wires
connected directly to the outlet
Compare your new outlet with the one
you’re replacing to find the corresponding
l o c a o n s fo r t h e e l e c t r i c a l s c re w
connectors
* If you must remove the exisng outlet, labeling the wires
first may be helpful
Since the power is off, you can match the
connector in a simple way: do not disconnect
all wires at once, otherwise it may cause
confusion, but unscrew and connect one wire
at a me

into the electrical box and screw it in
place
Snap on the outlet plate and screw it,
turn on the power at the circuit breaker

With YoLink app, you can set up a mer to turn on or/and off the outlet
Note
One mer will run only once. You can set a new mer aer the mer has already run or once you
cancel it

Create on/off schedules to automate your outlet to work around your home and work schedules
Note
You can have a maximum 6 schedules at one me
You may add as many schedules as you want in Automaon sengs. Automaon sengs are saved
in the cloud

* In-wall Outlet is integrated with Alexa and Google Assistant, and is also integrated with IFTTT .com, works as acon devices using IFTTT

About YoLink Control
YoLink Control is our unique device-to-device control technology. Using YoLink Control, YoLink
devices can be controlled without the Hub or an internet connecon. (Use of YoLink Control is
oponal; you can use the Automaon feature in the app OR use YoLink Control, but YoLink
Control offers the benefit of operaon without the Hub or internet connecon.)
One device controls another, directly. A device that sends out commands is called the controller. A
device that receives the commands is called the responder. Examples of a controller are a Door
Sensor or In-wall Outlet, while examples of a responder are another In-wall Outlet or a YoLink Plug

via YoLink app Mini (verify the Status LED of YoLink Plug displays blue). Press and hold the
POWER buon for 5-10 seconds unl the LED quickly blinks blue
