generator. Failure to do so could result in personal injury or equipment
damage.
■Exhaust gas contains poisonous carbon monoxide.
Never run the generator in an enclosed area.
Be sure to provide adequate ventilation.
When installed in ventilated protections are to be observed.
■The muffler becomes very hot during operation and remains hot for a
while after stopping the engine.
Be careful not to touch the muffler while it is hot.
Let the engine cool before storing the generator indoors.
The engine exhaust system will be heated during operation and remain hot
immediately after stopping the engine.
To prevent burns, pay attention to the warning marks attached to the
generator.
■Never use the generator under extremely environment like those, during
rain storms, during lightning storms, or at any other times when weather
conditions might make it unsafe to use this product.
5

To ensure safe operation—
■Gasoline is extremely flammable and explosive under certain
conditions. Refuel in a well ventilated area with the engine stopped.
■Keep away fromcigarette, smoke and sparks when re-fueling the
generator. Always refuel in a well-ventilated location.
■Wipe up spilled gasoline at once.
■Connections for standby power to a building's electrical system must be
made by a qualified electrician and must comply with all applicable
laws and electrical codes. Improper connections can allow
electrical
current from the generator to back feed into the utility lines. Such back feed
may electrocute utility company workers or others who contact the lines
during a power outage, and when utility power is restored, the generator
may explode, burn, or cause fires in the building's electrical system.
■This engine is certified to operate on the regular unleaded gasoline
with a pump octane rating of 86(RON 97) or higher.
■Improper maintenance or failure to correct a problem, can cause a
malfunction in which you can be seriously hurt or killed. If service
tasks are more difficult, or required special tools, should handled by
professionals or other qualified mechanic.
■Always make a pre-operation inspection before you start the engine.
You may prevent an accident or equipment damage.
■Place the generator at least 3 ft (1 m) away from buildings or other
equipment during operation.
■Operate the generator on a level surface.
If the generator is tiled, fuel spillage may result.
■Know how to stop the generator quickly and understand operation
of all the controls. Never permit anyone to operate the generator without
proper instructions.
■Keep children and pets away from the generator when it is in
operation.
■Keep away from rotating parts while the generator is running.
■The generator is a potential source of electrical shocks when
misused; do not operate with wet hands.

The serial number can be found engraved on the crankcase beside the oil filter cap. It
is visible when the left maintenance cover is removed.
.
9

4. PRE-OPERATION CHECK
■Be sure to check the oil level before each use with the generator on a
level surface with the engine stopped.
1. Check the engine oil level.
■Using non detergent oil or 2-stroke engineoilcould shorten the engine's
service life.
Use high-detergent, premium quality 4-stroke engine oil, certified to meet or exceed
U.S. automobile manufacturer's requirements for API Service Classification SJ or
later (equivalent). Always check the API Service label on the oil container to be sure
it includes the letter SJ or later (equivalent).
10W-30 is recommended to for general, all-temperature use. Other viscosities show
in the chart may be used when the average temperature in your area is within the
indicated ranger.
1、Placed the generator on the level surface.
2、Loosen the cover screw and remove the maintenance cover.
3、Remove the oil filler cap and wipe the dipstick clean.
4、Check the oil level by inserting the dipstick into the filler neck without screwing it in.
5、If the oil level is low, refill to the upper limit of the oil filler neck with the recommended oil.
6、Screw in the oil filter cap/dipstick securely.
7、Reinstall the maintenance cover and tighten the cover screw securely.
■Running the engine with insufficient oil can cause serious engine damage.
Do not overfill the engine with oil. If the engine is overfilled, the excess oil
may be transferred to the air cleaner housing and air filter.
10

NOTE:
The Low Oil Alarm System will automatically stop the engine when the oil level falls
below the safe limit. However, to avoid the inconvenience of an unexpected shutdown, it is still
advisable to visually inspect the oil level regularly.
2. Check the fuel level.
This engine is certified to operate on the regular unleaded gasoline with a pump octane rating of
86(RON97) or higher.
Never use stale or contaminated gasoline or an oil/gasoline mixture. Avoid getting the dirty and
water in the fuel tank.
When the engine is stopped, remove the fuel tank cap and check the fuel level. Refill the fuel tank
if the fuel level is low.
After refueling, tighten the fuel tank cap securely.
■Gasoline is extremely flammable and is explosive.
Stop the engine and keep heat, sparks and flame away.
Handle fuel only outdoors.
Wipe up spills immediately.
■Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine stopped.
Do not smoke or allow flames or sparks in the area where the engine
is refueled or where gasoline is stored.
■Do not overfill the fuel tank (there should be no fuel above the upper
limit mark). After refueling, make sure the tank cap is closed properly
and securely. 11

■Be careful not to spill fuel when refueling. Spilled fuel or fuel vapor
may ignite, if any fuel is spilled, make sure the area is dry before
starting the engine.
■Avoid repeated or prolonged contact with skin or breathing of vapor,
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
Gasoline containing alternate fuels
If you decide to use a gasoline containing ethanol, be sure its octane rating is equal to the
specification. Do not use a blend that contains more than 10% ethanol. Do not use gasoline
containing methanol.
■Fuel system damage or engine performance problems that result from
using a fuel with percentages greater than the shown above are not covered under warranty.
■fuel can damage the paint and plastic. Be carefully not to spill fuel when filling your fuel
tank. Damage caused by spilled fuel is not covered under warranty.
■Turn the fuel cap lever to "OFF" position before transporting
3. Check the air cleaner.
Check the main and outer air filter to be sure it is clean and in good condition.
Loosen the cover screw and remove the left side maintenance cover. Loosen the air cleaner
cover screw, and remove the air cleaner cover, then check the main and outer air filter. Clean or
replace the main and outer air filter if necessary.
■Never run the engine without the air cleaner. Rapid engine wear
will result from contaminants such as dust and dirt being drawn through
the carburetor into the engine.
12

5. STARTING THE ENGINE
Before starting the engine, disconnect any loads from the AC and DC terminals.
1. Turn the fuel cap vent lever fully clockwise to the “I”position.
2. Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
3. Move the choke lever to the START position.
13

■To restart a warm engine, leave the choke in the RUN position. Do not move the
choke to the START position when the engine is warm or the air temperature is high.
4. Pull the starter grip lightly until you feel resistance then pull briskly.
■Do not allow the starter grip to snap back against the engine, return it gently
to prevent damage to the starter or housing.
5. If the choke lever was moved to the START position to start the engine, gradually move it to the
RUN position as the engine warms up.
■If the engine stops and will not restart, check the engine oil level
before troubleshooting in other areas.
6. If you wish to use the Intelligent Throttle system, turn the Intelligent Throttle switch to the ON
position after the engine has warmed up for 2-3 minutes.
14

High altitude operation
At high altitude, the standard carburetor air-fuel mixture will be excessively rich. Performance will
decrease, and fuel consumption will increase. A very rich mixture will also foul the spark plug and
cause hard starting. Operation at an altitude that differs from that at which this engine was
certified, for extended periods of time, may increase emissions.
High altitude performance can be improved by installing a smaller diameter main fuel jet in the
carburetor. If you always operate the generator at altitudes higher than 5000 feet (1500 m) above
sea level, have your authorized dealer install the high altitude main jet.
Even with suitable carburetor jetting, engine horsepower will decrease approximately 3.5% for each
1000’ (305 m) increase in altitude. The effect of altitude on the horsepower will be greater than this if
no carburetor modification is made.
When the carburetor has been modified for the high altitude operation, the air-
fuel mixture will too lean for low altitude use. Operation the generator at an
altitude below 5000 feet (1500 m) with a modified carburetor may cause the
engine to over heat and result in serious engine damage. For use at low altitude,
have your servicing dealer return the carburetor to original factory specification.
Temperature
High temperature unfavorably affects generator operation. Generator performance will decrease
1% for each 10°F (5.5°C) increase in temperature above 85°F (29°C). The normal operating range
of this generator is -20°to 113°F (-29°to 45°C)
■Do not operate the generator when the ambient temperature is below -20°F (-29°C)
■Do not operate the generator when the ambient temperature exceeds 113°F (45°C)
15

6. GENERATOR USE
■To prevent electrical shock from faulty appliances, the generator
should be grounded. Connect a length of heavy wire between the
generator's ground terminal and an external ground source.
■Connections for standby power to a building's electrical system must
be made by a qualified electrician and must comply with all
applicable laws and electrical codes. Improper connections can
allow electrical current from the generator to back feed into the utility
lines. Such back feed may electrocute utility company workers or
others who contact the lines during a power outage, and when utility
power is restored, the generator may explode, burn, or cause fires in
the building's electrical system.
■Limit operation requiring maximum power to 30 minutes.
Maximum power is: 2000 VA
For continuous operation, do not exceed the rated power.
Rated power is: 1600VA
In either case, the total wattage of all appliances connected must be
considered.
■Do not exceed the current limit specified for any one receptacle.
■Do not connect the generator to a household circuit. This could
cause the damage to the generator or to electrical appliances in the
house.
■Do not connect the generator to an automatic transfer switch.
Severe damage to the generator and engine will result.
■Do not modify or use the generator for other purposes than it is
intended for. Also observe the following when using the generator.
●
Do not connect generators in parallel.
●
Do not connect an extension to the exhaust pipe.
■When an extension cable is required, be sure to use a tough rubber
sheathed flexible cable.
■Limit length of extension cables; 60 m for cables if 1.5mm2 and
100m for cables of 2.5 mm2.
■Keep the generator away from other electric cables or wires such as
commercial power supply lines.
■Keep all cooling holes open and clear of debris, mud, water, etc.
Cooling holes are located on the side panel, the control panel, and the
bottom of the generator. If the cooling holes are blocked, the generator
may overheat and damage the engine, inverter, or windings.
16

■The DC receptacle can be used while the AC power is in use. If you
use both at the same time, be sure not to exceed the total power for
AC and DC.
■Most appliance motors require more than their rated watt-age for
start-up.
AC applications
1. Start the engine and make sure the output indicator light (green) comes on.
2. Confirm that the appliance to be used is switched off, and plug in the appliance.
■Substantial overloading that continuously lights the overload
indicator light(red) may damage the generator. Marginal overloading
that temporarily lights the overload indicator light (red) may shorten
the service life of the generator.
■Be sure that all appliances are in good working order before
connecting them to the generator. If an appliance begins to operate
abnormally, becomes sluggish, or stops suddenly, turn off the
generator engine switch immediately. Then disconnect the
appliance, and examine it for signs of malfunction.
17

Output and Overload Indicators
The output indicator light (green) will remain ON during normal operating conditions.
If the generator is overloaded (in excess of 2.0kVA), or if there is a short in the connected
appliance, the output indicator light (green) will go OFF, the overload indicator light (red) will go
ON and current to the connected appliance will be shut off.
Stop the engine if the overload indicator light (red) comes ON and investigate the overload source.
■Before connecting an appliance to the generator, check that it is in good order, and that its
electrical rating does not exceed that of the generator. Then connect the power cord of the
appliance, and start the engine.
■When an electric motor is started, both the overload indicator
light(red) and the output indicator light (green) may go on
simultaneously. This is normal if the over- load indicator light (red)
goes off after about four (4) seconds. If the overload indicator light
(red) stays on, consult your generator dealer.
18

1. Connect the ground terminal.
2. Start each engine according to "STARTING THE ENGINE".
When the output indicator light (green) does not light and the overload indicator light (red) lights
instead, set the engine switch to STOP, stop the engine at once and then start the engine again.
3. Confirm that the equipment to be used is switched off, and insert the plug of the equipment to be
used into the AC receptacle.
■Confirm that the use equipment to be connected is switched off.
■When the equipment to be used is switched on, it will operate
suddenly, and injuries or accidents may be caused.
19

4. Switch on the equipment to be used.
In case of overload operation or when trouble occurs for the equipment being used, the output
indicator light (green) will go out, the overload indicator light (red) will light continuously, and no
power will be put out.
At this time, the engine will not stop, so that the engine must be stopped by setting the respective
engine switch to STOP.
In case of normal operation: In case of overload operation or short-circuit:
■When equipment requiring a large starting power, like a motor etc.,
is used, the overload indicator light (red) and the output indicator
light (green)may light together for a short time (about 4 sec), but this
is no abnormality. After start of the equipment, the overload indicator
light (red) will go out and the output indicator light (green) will stay lit.
