Operation

single-phaseconnectionto230V.

The mains on light will come on when the oven
functioncontrolknobisset.
ThermostatControlKnob
Turnthethermostatcontrolknobanti-clockwiseto
selecttemperaturesbetween50°Cand250°.
ThermostatControlIndicator
Thethermostatcontrolindicatorwillcomeonwhen
thethermostatcontrolknobisturned.Theindicator
will remain on until the correct temperature is
reached.Itwillthencycleonandofftoshowthe
temperatureisbeingmaintained.

SafetyThermostat
To prevent dangerous overheating (through
incorrect use of the appliance or defective
components), the oven is fitted with a safety
thermostat,whichinterruptsthepowersupply.The
ovenswitchesbackonagainautomatically,when
thetemperaturedrops.
Shouldthesafetythermostattriggerduetoincorrect
useoftheappliance,itisenoughtoremedytheerror
aftertheovenhascooleddown;ifontheotherhand,
the thermostat triggers because of a defective
component,pleasecontactCustomerService.
The cooling fan
Theovenisprovidedwithacoolingfan,meantto
keepthefrontpanel,theknobsandtheovendoor
handle cool.The fan switches on automatically
whentheovenisactivated.Warmairisblownout
throughtheapertureneartheovendoorhandle.
Thefanswitchesoffwhen,aftercooking,theoven
functioncontrolknobissettoOFFposition0.

Before using the oven for the first time
Toopenthe ovendoor, alwayshold the
handle in the centre.
Remove allpackaging,bothinsideand
outsidetheoven,beforeusingtheoven.
Beforeusingforthefirsttime,theovenshouldbe
heatedupwithoutfood.
During this time, an unpleasant odour may be
emitted.Thisisabsolutelynormal.Itiscausedby
manufacturingresidues.
Ensuretheroomiswellventilated.
1. Switchtheovenfunctioncontrolknob
toFancooking .
2. Set the thermostat control knob to
250°C.
3. Openawindowforventilation.
4. Allow the oven to run empty for ap-
proximately45minutes.
ThisprocedureshouldberepeatedwiththeCon-
ventionalcooking andthegrill functions
forapproximately5-10minutes.
Then let the oven cool down. Then
dampenasoftclothwithwarmwaterand
alittlemildwashing-upliquidandusethis
tocleantheovencavity.
Before using for the first time, carefully
washtheovenaccessoriesaswell.

Using the oven
The oven is supplied with an exclusive system
whichproducesanaturalcirculationofairandthe
constantrecyclingofsteam.
Thissystemmakesitpossibletocookinasteamy
environmentandkeepthedishessoftinsideand
crusty outside. Moreover, the cooking time and
energyconsumptionarereducedtoaminimum.
During cooking steam may be produced which
can be released when opening the oven door.
Thisisabsolutelynormal.
However,alwaysstandbackfromtheoven
when opening the oven door during
cookingorattheendofittoallowanybuild
upofsteamorheattorelease.
Attention! -Donotplaceobjectsonthe
oven base and do not cover any part of
theovenwithaluminiumfoilwhilecooking,
asthiscouldcauseaheatbuild-upwhich
wouldaffectthebakingresultsanddamage
the oven enamel. Always place pans,
heat-resistingpansandaluminiumtrays
ontheshelfwhichhasbeeninsertedinthe
shelfrunners.Whenfoodisheated,steam
iscreated,likeinakettle.Whenthesteam
comes into contact with the glass in the
ovendoor,itcondensesandcreateswater
droplets.
To reduce condensation, always preheat the
empty oven for 10 minutes.
Werecommendyouwipethewaterdropletsaway
aftereverycookingprocess.
Always cook with the oven door
closed. Stand clear when opening the
drop down oven door.Do not allow it to
fallopen-supportthedoorusingthedoor
handle,untilitisfullyopen.

ConventionalCooking
- Themiddleshelfpositionallowsforthebest
heatdistribution.Toincreasebasebrowning
simply lower the shelf position. To increase
topbrowning,raisetheshelfposition.
- The material and finish of the baking trays
and dishes used will affect base browning.
Enamelware,dark,heavyornon-stickutensils
increase base browning, while oven
glassware,shinyaluminiumorpolishedsteel
traysreflecttheheatawayandgivelessbase
browning.
- Alwaysplacedishescentrallyontheshelfto
ensureeven browning.
- Standdishesonsuitablysizedbakingtraysto
prevent spillage onto the base of the oven
andmakecleaningeasier.
-Do not place dishes, tins or baking trays
directlyontheovenbaseasitbecomesvery
hot and damage will occur.When using this
setting,heatcomesfromboththetopandbottom
elements.Thisallowsyoutocookonasingle
level and is particularly suitable for dishes
which require extra base browning such as
quichesandflans.
Gratins,lasagnesandhotpotswhichrequireextra
top browning also cook well in the conventional
oven.
Howtousethe conventionaloven
1. Turn the oven function control knob to the
requiredcookingfunction .
2. Turnthethermostatcontrolknobtotherequired
temperature.
Bottom oven element only
This function is particularly useful when blind-
baking pastry. It may also be used to finish off
quichesorflanstoensurethebasepastryiscooked
through.
Thethermostatcontrollightwillremainon
untilthecorrecttemperatureisreached.It
will then cycle on and off to show the
temperatureisbeingmaintained.
Grilling
- Mostfoodsshouldbeplacedonthegridinthe
grill pan to allow maximum circulation of air
andtolift thefood out ofthe fatsandjuices.
Foodsuchasfish,liverandkidneysmaybe
placeddirectlyonthegrillpan,ifpreferred.
- Foodshouldbethoroughlydriedbeforegrilling
tominimisesplashing.Brushleanmeatsand
fish lightly with a little oil or melted butter to
keepthemmoistduringcooking.
- Accompaniments such as tomatoes and
mushrooms may be placed underneath the
gridwhengrillingmeats
- Whentoastingbread,wesuggestthatthetop
runnerpositionisused.
- The food should be turned over during
cooking,asrequired.
How to use the Inner Grill Element
The inner grill provides quick direct heat to the
centralareaofthegrillpan.Byusingtheinnergrill
elementforcookingsmallquantities,itcanhelpto
save energy.
1.Turntheovencontrolfunctionknobon .
2.Turnthethermostatcontrolknobontherequired
temperature.
3.Adjustthegridandgrillpanrunnerpositionto
allowfordifferentthicknessesoffoodandfollow
theinstructionsforgrilling.
Thegrillelementiscontrolledbythethermostat.
Duringcooking,thegrillcyclesonandofftoprevent
overheating.

Defrosting
Theovenfanoperateswithoutheatandcirculatesthe
air,atroomtemperature,insidetheoven.
Ensurethethermostatcontrolknobisinthe
OFFposition.
Hints and Tips
Onbaking:
Cakes and pastries usually require a medium
temperature (150°C-200°C) and therefore it is
necessary to preheat the oven for about 10
minutes.
Donotopentheovendoorbefore3/4ofthebaking
timehaselapsed.
Shortcrustpastryisbakedinaspringformtinor
onatrayforupto2/3ofthebakingtimeandthen
garnishedbeforebeingfullybaked.Thisfurther
bakingtimedependsonthetypeandamountof
toppingorfilling.Spongemixturesmustseparate
withdifficultyfromthespoon.Thebakingtimewould
beunnecessarilyextendedbytoomuchliquid.
If two baking trays with pastries or biscuits are
inserted intotheoven atthe sametime,a shelf
levelmustbeleftfreebetweenthetrays.
If two baking trays with pastries or biscuits are
insertedintotheovenatthesametime,thetrays
mustbeswappedandturnedaroundafterabout
2/3ofthebakingtime.
OnRoasting:
Donotroastjointssmallerthan1kg.Smallerpieces
coulddryoutwhenroasting.Darkmeat,whichis
tobewelldoneontheoutsidebutremainmedium
orrare inside, mustbe roastedat ahigher tem-
perature(200°C-250°C).
Whitemeat,poultryandfish,ontheotherhand,
requirealowertemperature(150°C-175°C).The
ingredientsfor a sauce or gravy should only be
addedtotheroastingpanrightatthebeginningif

Turn the oven function control knob to position
andregulatethethermostattothetemperature
required.
This function offers an alternative method of
cooking food items, normally associated with
conventional grilling. The grill element and the
oven fan operate alternately, circulating hot air
aroundthefood.
Whenusingthisfunction,selectamaximum
temperature of 200°C.
Fan cooking
- Thefoodiscookedbymeansofpreheatedair
force blown evenly round the inside of the
ovenbyafansetontherearwalloftheoven
itself.
- Heatthusreachesallpartsoftheovenevenly
andfastandthismeansthatyoucansimulta-
neouslycookdifferenttypesoffoodspositioned
on the various oven shelves . Fan cooking
ensuresrapideliminationofmoistureandthe
dryer oven environment stops the different
aromasandflavoursfrombeingtransmitted
fromonefoodtoanother.
- The possibility of cooking on several shelf
heightsmeansthatyoucancookseveraldiffer-
entdishesatthesametimeanduptothreetins
of biscuits and mini pizzas to be eaten
immediatelyorsubsequentlydeepfrozen.
- Naturally the oven can also be used for
cooking on just one shelf. In this case you
shouldusethe lowestsetof runnersso that
youcankeepaneyeonprogressmoreeasily.
- In addition, the oven is particularly
recommended for sterilizing preserves,
cooking home-made fruit in syrup, and for
dryingmushroomsorfruit.

cooked: if it cannot be depressed, it is cooked
through.Roastbeefandfillet,whichistoremain

theroastingpanintheshelflevelbelowtocatch
thejuices.
Leavethejointtostandforatleast15minutes,so
thatthemeatjuicesdonotrunout.
Toreducethebuildupofsmokeintheoven,itis
recommendedtopouralittlewaterintheroasting
pan.Topreventcondensationforming,addwater
severaltimes.Theplatescanbekeptwarminthe
ovenatminimumtemperatureuntilserving.
Caution!
Do not line the oven with aluminium
foil and do not place a roasting pan
or baking tray on the floor, as other-
wise the oven enamel will be dam-
aged by the heat build-up.

Notethesettingsofyourfirstcookingorroasting

Before cleaning switch the oven off
and let it cool down.
The appliance must not be cleaned
with a superheated steam cleaner or
asteamjet cleaner.
Important: Before carrying out any cleaning
operation,theappliancemustbedisconnectedfrom
thepowersupply.
To ensure a long life for your appliance, it is
necessary to perform the following cleaning
operationsregularly:
- Onlyperformwhentheovenhascooleddown.
- Cleantheenamelledpartswithsoapywater.
- Donotuseabrasivecleaners.
- Drythestainlesssteelpartsandglasswitha
softcloth.
- Iftherearestubbornstains,usecommercially
availableforstainlesssteelorwarmvinegar.
Theoven’senamelisextremelydurableandhighly
impermeable.The action of hot fruitacids (from
lemons, plums or similar) can however leave
permanent,dull,roughmarksonthesurfaceofthe
enamel. However such marks in the brightly
polishedsurfaceoftheenameldoesnotaffectthe
operationoftheoven.Cleantheoventhoroughly
afterevery use.This isthe easiestway toclean
dirtoff.Itpreventsdirtbeingburnton.
Cleaningmaterials
Beforeusinganycleaningmaterialsonyouroven,
checkthattheyaresuitableandthattheiruseis
recommendedbythemanufacturer.
CleanersthatcontainbleachshouldNOTbeused
as they may dull the surface finishes. Harsh
abrasivesshouldalsobeavoided.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Externalcleaning
Regularlywipeoverthecontrolpanel,ovendoor
anddoorsealusingasoftclothwellwrungoutin
warmwater to whicha littleliquid detergenthas
beenadded.
Topreventdamagingorweakeningthedoorglass
panelsavoidtheuseofthefollowing:
• Householddetergentandbleaches
• Impregnated pads unsuitable for non-stick
saucepans
• Brillo/Ajaxpadsorsteelwoolpads
• Chemicalovenpadsoraerosols
• Rustremovers
• Bath/Sinkstainremovers
Cleantheouterandinnerdoorglassusingwarm
soapywater.Shouldtheinnerdoorglassbecome
heavilysoileditisrecommendedthatacleaning
product such as Hob Brite is used. Do not use
paintscraperstoremovesoilage.
DO NOT clean the oven door while
the glass panels are warm. If this
precaution is not observed the glass
panel may shatter.
Ifthedoorglasspanelbecomeschipped
orhas deep scratches, the glass will be
weakened and must be replaced to
prevent the possibility of the panel
shattering. Contact your local Service
Force Centre who will be pleased to
advisefurther.
OvenCavity
The enamelled base of the oven cavity is best
cleanedwhilsttheovenisstillwarm.
Wipe the oven over with a soft cloth soaked in
warmsoapy water after each use. From time to
time it will be necessary to do a more thorough
cleaning,usingaproprietaryovencleaner.

Replacing The Oven Light
Disconnecttheappliance
Iftheovenbulbneedsreplacing,itmustcomply
withthefollowingspecifications:
- Electricpower:25W,
- Electricrate:230V(50Hz),
- Resistanttotemperaturesof300°C,
- Connectiontype:E14.
ThesebulbsareavailablefromyourlocalService
ForceCentre.
Toreplacethefaultybulb:
1. Ensuretheovenisisolatedfromtheelectrical
supply.
2. Pushinandturntheglasscover anticlockwise.
3. Removethefaultybulbandreplacewiththe
newone.
4. Refittheglasscoverandrestoretheelectrical
supply.

Theovendoorconsistsoftwopanesofglass.The
oven door can be disassembled and the internal
panescanberemovedtomakecleaningeasier.
Important - Remove the oven door
beforecleaningit.Theovendoorcould
abruptlyclose if you try toremove the
internal panes of glass when the door
isstillassembled.
Todoso,proceedasfollows.
1) openthedoorfully;
2) locatethetwodoorhinges(Fig.1);
3) liftandturntheleversonthetwohinges(Fig.2);
4) holdthedoorbythesideedgesandcloseitslowly
butnotCOMPLETELY(Fig.3);
5) pullthedoorforward,removingitfromitsseat(Fig.
3);

6) place the door on a stable surface (Fig. 4)
protectedbyasoftclothtopreventthehandle
surfacefrombeingdamaged;
7) releasethelockingsystemtoremovetheinter-
nalpanesofglass (Fig.5);
8) turnthe2fasteners90°andextractthemfrom
theirseats(Fig.6);
9) gentlyliftandcarefullytakeofftheuppermost
panemarkedbyadecorativeframeon4sides
(Fig. 7).
Cleantheovendoorwithlukewarmwaterandasoft
cloth.Donotuseproductssuchasscouringpads,
steel wool, abrasive sponges or acids because
theycoulddamagethespecialheat-reflectingsur-
faceoftheinternalpanesofglass.
Aftercleaning,reassemblethepanesinthedoor
andthentheovendoor,followingtheprocedure
describedaboveinreverse.Makesureyourepo-
sitionthepanescorrectly.
To perform this operation correctly, proceed as
follows:
-thedecoratedinternalpanewithaframeonthe4
sides must be reassembled so that the screen-
printingisfacingoutwards.Thesideofthepaneof
glassiscorrectifyoudonot feel anyroughness
near the screen printing when you pass your
fingersoverthesurface.

How to clean the oven door seal
Arubbersealaroundtheovenopeningguarantees
correctoperation.
Check the condition of this seal
periodically.Ifithastobecleaned,do
not use abrasive objects or
substances.
Ifyounoticethatthesealisdamaged,
contact your local service centre and
do not use the oven until it has been
repaired.
Theinternalpaneofglassmustbeputbackintothe
rightseatsasshowninFig. 8
Afterthepanesofglasshavebeenreassembled
intheovendoor,performtheproceduredescribed
inpoint8)inreversetoensuretheyarelocked.
Donotcleantheovendoorwhenitisstill
hot,astheglasscouldshatter.Ifscratches
ordeepcracksarenotedonthesurface
of the glass, contact the authorised
AssistanceCentreforreplacingtheglass.
Models in stainless steel or
aluminium:Itisadvisabletocleanthe
ovendoorandcontrolpanelinstainless
steel or aluminium only with a moist
sponge,carefullydryingwithasoftcloth
after cleaning. Never use steel wool,
acidsorabrasiveproductsastheycan
damagethesurface.
