Howtoavoid damaging yourappliance
DDo notusethe hob surface asaworking surface
orforstorage.
DDonotusethe cookingzoneswithemptypansor
withoutpans.This couldcause damage tothe
pansorthe hob.
DCeramicglassisinsensitivetotemperatureshock
and veryrobust, however,itisnotunbreakable.
Hardandsharpobjects,inparticular,candamage
the cooking surfaceif theyfall on it.
DDo notusecastiron potsorpanswith damaged
basesthatarerough orburred.Scratching may
occurwhen the lidsareslid.
DDo notplace anypanson the hob frame.Scrat-
ching mayoccurorthe paintdamaged.
DEnsurethatliquids containingacids,e.g.vinegar,
lemon limescaleremoving agentsdo notcome
intocontactwiththe hob frame,otherwisematt
spotswill appear.
DIfsugaroradishcontainingsugarcomesintocon-
tactwith a hotcooking zone and then melts,re-
movethe soiling immediatelywhilststill warm,
using a glass scraper.Ifitcools,damage tothe
surfacemayoccur.
DKeep all itemsand materialsthatmeltawayfrom
the ceramicglass surface,e.g.plastics,alumi-
niumfoil oroven foils.Ifsomething of thisnature
shouldmeltontothe ceramicglass surface,it
mustberemovedimmediatelyusinga glassscra-
per.

Disposalofpackaging material
All partsof the packaging can be recycled and
hardfoampartsare appropriatelymarked.

Please dispose ofall packaing and old
applianceswith due regardforsafetyand the
environment.

ded and wipe dry.
Neveruse aggressive orabrasivecleaning
agents, theymaydamage the ceramicglass and
hob frame.

Special features of the appliance
DCeramicglass cooking area:
The applianceis comprised ofaceramicglass
cooking surface and 4 quick--heating cooking zo-
nes.Due to especiallyefficientradiantheating
elementsthe cooking zoneswill heatup very
quickly.
DTouchcontrols:
The applianceis controlled byTOUCH--CON-
TROL.
DTouchcontrol ON/OFF:
Withuseof theON/OFF touchcontrolsthepower
supplytothe appliancecan be switched on and
off.
DControland function indicators:
Digitalindicatorsorcontrollamp provideinforma-
tionaboutsettingsmade / , functionsactiva-
ted /aswell asanyresidualheatof the
corresponding cooking zone.
DWarm--keeping setting:
=this setting allows you tokeep disheswarm.
DResidualheatindicator:
A(“hot”) for residualheatindication will come
oninthedisplayincaseofacookingzonetempe-
raturethatimpliesthe dangerofburning.
DSafetylock /childrensafetydevice:
Withthisfunction the cooking area can be se-
cured againstunintended switching--on.
DSafety cut--off:
Asafetycut--offmakessurethatallcookingzones
will be switched off automaticallyaftersometime
if thereisno variation ofsettings.
DCleaning:
Due tothe ceramicglass cooking area and the
touchcontrolsbeing a single unit, itis veryeasy
tokeep the hob clean.

Operating instructions
General information
The cooking surfaceismade ofproven ceramicglass.
and consistsof4cooking zones.The rapid glowing
cooking zoneswiththat the especiallyefficientradiant
heatingelementswillconsiderablyreducetheduration
ofheating--up.
The cooking surfaceispore--free and alsoinsen-
sitivetorapidchangesintemperature.Pots can
thereforebemoved froma hot tocoldzone.
When switchingonacooking zone you mayhear
ashortbuzz.Thatisacharacteristicofall ceramic
glasscookingzonesanddoesnotimpairthefunc-
tion orthe lifetime of the appliance.
Always putpotsand pansontothe cooking zone
beforeswitching on.
TOUCH--CONTROLsensorfields
DTo operatethe TOUCH--CONTROLsensorfields
putyourfingerflat fromtop ontothe desiredfield,
until corresponding indicatorswill come on orgo
out, respectivelyuntil the desired function will be
carried out.
Switching on the appliance
The entire applianceis switched on bymeansof the
touchcontrolON/OFF.
DKeep the controlON/OFF touched forabout two
seconds.
Thedigitalindicatorsshowandthedigitalpoint
flashes.
Oncetheappliancehasbeenswitchedon,acoo-
king zone mustbe selected within 10 seconds
withuseofthecookingzoneselector. If acooking
zone isnotselected the appliancewill switch off
forsafetyreasons.
Switching off the appliance
Tofully switch off the appliance usethe touchcontrol
ON/OFF.
DKeep the sensorfieldON/OFF touched forabout
twoseconds.
Afterswitching off ofone individualcooking zone
orof the entirecooking area, the residualheatis
indicated with(“hot”) inthedigital indicatorsof
the corresponding cooking zones.

DTo activateacooking zone keep the correspon-
dingcontroltouchedforaboutonesecond.Azero
with digitalpointcomeson inthe correspon-
ding cooking zone display.

Cooking zone switch--off
D1.Select the desired cooking zone bymeansof

Residualheatindicator
Afterswitching off asinglecooking zone orthe entire
hobanyresidualheatisindicatedby(“hot”)showing
inthe displayof the corresponding cooking zone.
Even afterswitching off acooking zone the residual
heatindicatorwill go outonlyaftersufficientcooling
down of the cooking zone.
Theresidualheatcanbeusedforthemeltingand
keeping disheswarm.
Caution!Whilethe isilluminatedthe hob ishot
and thereisarisk ofburning.
Caution! If thereisa powerfailurethe will go
outeven if thereisresidualheatinthe hob.Care
will havetobetaken until thereisno longerarisk
ofburning.

Acitivating the child--safetydevice
The child--safetydevice preventsthe cooking zones
being switched on accidentally.
The child--safetydevicecan onlybe activated
when the hob is switched on.

Safety cutoff afteratime
If acookingzoneisnotswitchedoff orifasettingisnot
varied aftera defined time, the corresponding cooking
zone will switch off automatically.

Thehobwill alsoswitchitselfoff ifawetclothisplaced
on the controlpanel.
Ineithercasetheappliancemustbeswitchedbackon,
oncethe liquid orcloth hasbeen removed,withthe
mainswitchON/OFF forfurtheruse.

DYou can recognise good qualitypansbytheir
base.Thebaseshouldbethickandasflataspos-
sible.
DRough bases(i.e.burrsand sharp edges)will
scratchthe ceramicglass surface.
DUtensilswith aluminiumand copperbases can
leave behind metallicdiscolorationswhichcan
onlybe removed with difficultyorsometimesnot
atall.
DSaucepansandfryingpans shouldnotbesmaller
than the cooking zone,and preferablynotmore
than 10--15 mm largerthan the diameterof the
cooking zone.
DWhen cold,pan basesnormally curveslightly
inwards(areconcave). In no caseshouldthey
curve outwards(be convex).
DWhen buying newpotsorpanspayattention to
the base diameter.Manufacturersoften statethe
upperdiameterof the edge ofa dish.
DIf youare usingspecialcookingutensilslikepres-
surecookersoraWOK,followthemanufacturer’s
instructions.
DFollowanyguidelinesprovided bythe saucepan
manufacturer.Ensuretheyarerecommendedfor
useonceramichobs.
Generalhints
DThe bases should always be clean and dry.
DTo avoidscratching ordamaging the ceramic
glasssurface,potsandpans shouldbemovedon
the hob bylifting them,and notby sliding.
DScratches can also be caused bygrainsofsand
(e.g.originating fromthe previouswashing of
vegetables),drawnoverthecooking surfacewith
the pan,orbyburrsand the rimsofpan bases.
DUse high sided pansfordisheswith alotofliquid,
sothatnothing boilsover.
Energy consumption
Tosave energy,you should:
Dplace potsand pansin position beforeswitching
on the cooking zone.
Duseonly cookingandfryingutensilswithsmooth,
flatbases.

ramicglass surface!Aftercleaningall residuesof
cleanersmustbe removed withsufficientclean
water,astheymaybe causticwhen being rehea-
ted.
Neveruse aggressive orabrasive agents,such
asoven sprays,stain or rustremovers,scouring
powder,orspongeswith an abrasive effect.
Suitablecleaning materialsare:clean cloth or
household paper,hotwaterwith detergent, suita-
blecommercialcleanersand cleaning scrapers.
Cleaning scrapersand ceramicglass cleaners
areavailablefromtheexperttradeandinmarkets
forbuilding material.
Ceramicglass surface
DClean the ceramicglass surface aftereveryuse
whenitishandwarm orcold.Thiswill avoidspills
becoming burnton.
DRemovescale and water marks, fatspotsand
metallicshimmeringdiscolorationwithacommer-
cialceramicglass cleanersuch asVitroclen.
Lightsoilage
DWipetheceramicglasssurfacewithadampcloth,
and a littlewashing up liquid.
DThen rub drywithaclean cloth.Noresiduesof
cleaner mustbe left on the surface.
DOnce a week, throroughly clean the entirecera-
micglass surfacewith a commercialceramic
glass cleanersuch as“Vitroclen”.Always ensure
that the hob isdryaftercleaning.
Stubbornsoilage
DToremovefood thathasboiled overorburnton
spots,useaglass scraper.
DPlacetheglassscraperatanangletotheceramic
glass surface.Removesoilingbyslidingthescra-
per.

Sugar
DRemove burnt--on sugar,melted plastics,alumi-
numfoilimmedeiately-- whentheyarestillwarm
-- using a glass scraper,otherwise damage may
be caused.
Warning!Whenusingthecleaningscraperonthe
warm cooking zone careshouldbetaken.
DAfterwards clean the cooking surface normally.
If the cooking zone and melted materialhas coo-
led down,reheat the cooking zone gentlyto aid
the cleaning process.
Dark spots,decordamages
If aggressivecleanersorpanswith abrasive ba-
sesareused, thenthe decorwill takeon anabra-
ded appearence and dark spotswill appearover
time.
Thesemarks cannotbe removed.However, they
do impairthe fuctionabilityof the hob.

Scratches inthe ceramicglass surface
Scratchesinthe ceramicglass surfaceresulting
fromburrson a pan base orsand grains cannot
be removed.
However, theydo impairthe fuction of the hob.
Thehob frame
Donotallowvinegar,lemonsorscaleremoversto
comeintocontactwiththe hob frame,matt spots
will appear.
DClean the hob framewithwaterand a littlewas-
hing up liquid.
DSoften dried dirtwith a wetcloth.Then wipe off
and rub dry.

frontleft cooking zone will becomeinoperable.

controls.The frontleft cooking zone will operate
againoncetheappliancehascooleddownand
isnolongerinthedisplay.Thefrontrightandrear
cooking zones can still be operated during this
time.

up with groovematerial.
DThen fasten the catchspringswithscrewsinthe

Electricalconnections
Beforeconnecting the appliance,check that the
voltagequotedon theratingplate-thatis, theno-
minalvoltage of the appliance-correspondsto
the availablemains voltage.The rating platecan
be found on the lowerhousing of the ceramic
glass hob.

expertelectrician.The VDE-regulationsand the
valid prescriptionsbythe localpowersuppy
