Electricalsafety
This appliance mustonlybeinstalled by a quali-

Onlyusethe hob when ithasbeen fullyinstalled.This
will preventyou fromcoming intocontactwithcurrent--

Damaged hobswithcracks orbreakagesinthe glass
ceramic surfacemustnotbe connected tothe mains.
For reasonsofsafety,repairstothe appliance,and in
particulartothe current--carrying components,must
onlybe carried outbyqualified electriciansortrained
CustomerServicetechnicians. Otherwise,considera-
ble dangercouldresult forthe user. Incase ofmalfunc-
tion,contactourCustomerService departmentdi-
rectly.
If the glass--ceramichob isto be used inthe vicinityof
aradio,TVorothertransmitting device,itmust firstbe
clarified whetherthis could affectitsoperation.
The applianceisonlydisconnected fromthe mains
when the fuseisturned off orthe mains connection is
interrupted.
Use and Operation
Preventsmall children fromtouching the glass--cera-
mictop when in use.Asarule, they should be kept
awayfromboththe hob and frompotsand pans.
Children can also burnthemselvesbypulling pansor
potsoff the hob.
The cooking zonesheatup quicklywhen theyaretur-
ned on. Onlyturnthemon ifyou have placed a sauce-
pan on the cooking area.
Exercisecarewhen working with a hothob,orhotpots
orpans.Thereisalways adangerofbeing burned
The residualheatindicatorintegrated inthe electro-
nics tells you whetheracooking zone is still hot.
Incase a pan/potisleft on the cooking zone the resi-
dualheatindicatorcan switch off tough isthe cooking
zone still hot fromthe pan with hotcontents.
Inthe eventofa powerfailure,all settingsand displays
will be lost. Becareful,because hotcooking zoneswill
no longerbe indicated bythe residualheatindicator.
If you use a socketclosetothe hob, takecarethat the
cable of the appliance doesnot touchthe hotsurface
of the hob.
Do notstore anytemperature--sensitive orinflamma-
blematerials(such asdetergents,spray cans)inthe
drawersorthe cupboardsunderneaththe built--in hob.
The cooking surfacemustnotbe used asastorage or
working area.
Attention!Neverlookdirectlyintothe light fromthe
halogen cooking zone.
Neverleavethe hob unattended when working with
oilsand fats,due tothe dangerof fire.
Neveruse plasticoraluminiumfoil disheson the hob.
Theymeltathigh temperatures,and can damage the
glass--ceramicplate.
Neithersugar (solid orliquid)norplastic should be allo-
wed tocomeintocontactwiththe hotsurface of the
hob.
When the platecoolsdown,cracks orbreakages could
occurinthe glass--ceramicplate. If sugarorplastic
should accidentally comeintocontactwiththe hothob,
the latter mustnotbe switched off foranyreason,but
the sugarorplasticremnantsmustbe removed with a
scraperwhilestill warm.Protectyourhandsfrom
burns.
To avoidscratching the surface of the glass--ceramic
hob,onlyuse potsand panswithflatbasesand without
rough edges.
The ceramichob surfaceisresistant to extremetem-
peratures.Neithercold norheatcan harm it. Avoid
dropping anything on the hob.Pointimpacts,e.g.by
droppingasaltshaker,can causefissuresand cracks.
Adefective hob surfacecould allowfood which has
boiled overto penetratethrough the hob,and contact
the electricalparts.
If any cracks appearon the hob surface, the hob must
be switched off immediately.Disconnect the appliance
fromthe mainsand inform the service department.
