It is better to store the kayak indoors, in dry room at above-zero temperature.
Kayak should not be touched during storage at below-zero temperature.
Small Repairs of hull damages / punch holes.
Repairs should be carried out at a temperature not lower than + 16 °C ( 60 F). Coincidentally, this
lowest temperature is the optimal one.
After repair is done, your kayak can be back in water in just 15 minutes, but for the best repair results,
whenever possible, please give the adhesive 12 hours to completely cure.
Repair (patching) procedure:
Thoroughly dry the damaged area. Prepare a patch of the supplied repair material, the size of the patch
should overlap the damaged area by 25 mm ( 1 inch) in all directions. Round the edges of the patch.
Soak a piece of cloth in Acetone and rub both the patch and the corresponding damaged area with it.
(However, please be careful not to break down the integrity of polymer layer of the fabric by using
sandpaper or similar mechanical means.)
Mark the location of the patch on the repaired area. Apply one coat of the supplied adhesive
(Desmokoll) on both surfaces. In 5 -10 minutes after applying a layer of adhesive, patch should be
pressed hard to the marked damaged area and immediately rolled over multiple times with a roller tool
or suitable circular object - on a hard flat surface.
If possible, it is better to heat the patch with a heat gun to approximately 60-70 C ( 150 F) to re-
activate the adhesive. With no access to heat gun, a metal can with hot water can be used.
Note: It is dangerous and strictly prohibited to use open fire for re-heating purpose.
Safety requirements and recommendations.
Remember that kayaking can be dangerous and can cause serious injury. Paddlers are responsible for
obtaining the relevant instructions on paddling skills, safety on the water, on how to behave in
emergency situations and how to provide first aid.
Common sense suggests that any boater must be able to swim, regardless of wearing PFD or not. No
matter how long is you run and how difficult it is, please always carry the safety equipment in your
kayak: first aid kit, air pump, spare paddle.
We cannot emphasize it enough that safety must be always put first.
It is your responsibility - please take it very seriously and very personally
And then: enjoy the ride!
